[[Bree]] and [[Gemma]] both mention living on a '''commune''' as part of their [[Bree's religion|religious upbringing]].  In [[Mysteries of My Past... REVEALED!]] Bree says that she lived on a small commune in New Zealand.  Gemma mentions living in a commune in Nottinghamshire where she and Bree met.

Members of a commune typically pool resources, sharing income and most possessions.  Some, but not all, communes are based around a shared religious tradition, as is evidently the case with Bree's communes.  Other communes are based around shared cultural or political beliefs.
