'''Bukanator''' was an early fan on YouTube who claimed in YouTube comments to have contacted [[Daniel]] and asked if he could start a fan site for them, www.lonelygirl15.com[http://www.lonelygirl15.com].

When it was discovered that lonelygirl15.com had been registered before [[Bree]] posted her first video, Bukanator said that he had e-mailed Daniel. Daniel said he had registered lonelygirl15.com, but had no plan of using it, so handed the site over to Bukanator.

Bukanator claimed to be a Web designer with an interest in photography. He was criticized for being a poor moderator, and frustration with his site led a group of fans, basically the entire forum, to create and move to an alternate fan site [[The Children of Anchor Cove]].

In reality, Bukanator was originally Bay Area software engineer [[Grant Steinfeld]]. Candace Murphy of Inside Bay Area news reported that Steinfeld was frozen out of the project, and the account was taken over by others. Steinfeld was reportedly frustrated by being removed from the project and went to several media outlets with his story.

Sorry Jay, but I really disagree with Buka's status as a "character". He purported to be an online fan who had no connection to Bree & Daniel any larger than any of us, except that he gets to run their fan site. Therefore if he's a character in LG, we all are. While he deserves a page, because his ineptness as forum admin led to the Anchor Cove secession and he was in a sense a bridge between the creators and the fans, he was not a part of the story at all. Also he can't be called an unseen character because by my definition (and I think a legitimate one), unseen characters only deserve that title if they've been mentioned in a video. Bukanator was never supposed to be part of the story, and he was never going to be seen on camera because he was not in their world. He was just a fan like all of us and therefore never a part of the story.
