Gavin is first introduced in [[Spiders]] when Tariq and him visit their new office space, his [[Aunt Joan's house|Aunt Joan's garage]]. Gavin says he's just quit his job and would like to start his new company there. [[Joan|Aunt Joan]] demands rent, so Tariq and Gavin pay in Gardening. A couple of days later, while the two are getting ready to go to the bank to ask for a loan, Tariq gets a call from his girlfriend, [[Kate]]. Gavin mentions he gets bad vibes off her.

Gavin tags along with Tariq to [[Charlie's party]]. Gavin spots [[Steve]] hugging Kate and alerts Tariq. He distracts Steve by doing the funky chicken, giving Tariq time to go through his stuff. Tariq ends up leaving while Gavin and Charlie party afterwards.

Days later, [[Birdwatching|Charlie asks Gavin for help]], worried about Kate. Gavin looks up information left on Tariq's computer about Kate being [[Trait Positive]]. After hearing about the Hymn of One, Charlie says they have to go find Kate and warn her. As Charlie tries to open the door, however, it is locked. Gavin says he forgot the dead bolt, it locks automatically at 6pm. Cell phones wont work either. Gavin send the message through the blog to Tariq and anyone listening, to go to Carnaby Street at 10am. While locked in the room, Gavin and Charlie grow closer, posting several videos over the time they're trapped. Gavin admits he's [[Office Romance|attracted to Charlie]].

Tariq [[Hero For Hire|confronts Gavin]] about the loan he took out, although nothing more about it is said in the blogs.

In [[The Prisoner]], Steve suggested that Gavin was a member of the Hymn of One. Gavin later admitted that he had attended a Hymn of One meeting, but found it really boring. Tariq later urges Gavin to use that to [[Gavin Steps Up|convince Steve]] not to report Kate to the Police after what she did. After, Gavin complains that Tariq and him should be worried more about the business, not Kate and her creepy friends. Tariq convinces him to continue to help.

Gavin goes to [[Dr. William Griffin]]'s house to ask if anyone knew what happened or if they knew anything about Kate. He runs into Dudley and later notices he's the cop from the day the Doctor died.

Gavin, Tariq and Charlie go to see [[Disturbia]] but Gavin gets kicked out for having a camera which he refuses to give up. He sat outside, waiting for the movie to end.

===Charlie and Gavin and The Software===

In [[False Alarm]], Charlie confirms that she and Gavin slept together. She was also worried that she might have been pregnant, but she wasn't. After seeing the video, Gavin posts a [[...|short video]] saying he'll call Charlie. Later, [[Girls Are From Venus|Charlie posts]] parts of what Gavin calls a "very private tape", making "Keep Your Socks On" into his catchphrase. [[Keep Your Socks On!|He asks girls at a bar]] what they think, saying Charlie's attempt to embarrass him has backfired.

Gavin later sees a [[Desperately Seeking Shia|video]] Charlie posted about going to see Shia LaBeouf. He [[Somebody Do Something|decides]] to go stop her and tell her how he feels. Although, [[Saved By LaBeouf|when he gets to the bar]] she's at, Charlie's nowhere to be found. He grabs a drink and sits at the counter. He looks around and finally finds Charlie sitting alone at a table. He walks up to her, Gavin gives his coat to Charlie and the two sit together at a table. Gavin admits he likes Charlie and Charlie replies she likes him too.


[[Birthday Surprise|Later]], after things with Kate died down, Gavin and Tariq renewed their efforts to work on their software. In order to help them, they hired on [[Lee]], a work experience trainee volunteer. Unfortunately, Gavin seemed to find humor in [[Subservient Lee|degrading]] Lee, who was working for nothing. As retaliation, Lee stole the only copy of their software in [[The Leak]] and posted videos that would lead both Gavin in Tariq on a [[KateModern puzzles#Lee's Treasure Hunt|treasure hunt]] around London to attempt to recover it. This strained their friendship, however, and the two now refuse to speak to each other.

Unfortunately, since [[Terrence]] showed up and they [[Seven Dials: 5pm - 23rd November 2007|lost their software to the Order]], Gavin has shown signs of [[Sinking in|violence]] and mental anguish (including [[The Trains|split personality]] and paranoia). Gavin's mental state caused his relationship with Charlie to slowly deteriorate. She finally left him after learning that Gavin had formed a plan with Terrence to retrieve the [[Project Orwell|software]] from [[the Order]]. Gavin attempted to [[Down Under|follow her]] to Australia, but is stopped by Terrence and Tariq, who force him to go through with the plan, which ends poorly, with Gavin being [[Resolution|arrested]].

===The New Year===
Following Kate's murder, it is discovered that the Order pulled strings to have Gavin released from prison. He has gone to live with his Aunt Joan, while working in a pub cleaning dishes. In [[Group Hug]], Gavin returns as [[JustIncredible.TV]]'s new technical manager, a position which Tariq had been positioning himself for.

During Charlie's [[Stiff Upper Lip|pitch]] on how to advertise for the channel, Gavin managed to convince Justin that he should tag along. The following week, Charlie, Gavin, [[Julia]], and Lee went on a road trip to tour University communities to promote JustIncredible.TV. At first Gavin upset everyone by constantly bickering with Lee. However, after [[Nuts and Needles|saving Lee's life]], he was more accepted in the group, and gave up his vendetta against Lee for stealing his software.

Upon returning to work, Gavin begins noticing [[Justin]]'s strange behavior, and discovers that he has put his office [[WC ONE|inside a bathroom]]. Gavin also finds that Justin is [[Credible?|re-receiving packages]] that he had sent out, and [[MERRY-GO-ROUND|concludes]] that he is committing {{wikipedia|Missing_trader_fraud|carousel fraud}}, though he cites that Justin is not very good at it, as no one has been paid in two months. During the company [[The Easter Party|Easter party]], Gavin starts a walk-out, demanding that Justin pay his employees. Later, when the [[JTV staff|staff]] [[Bust Incredible|go to demand]] pay again, they find that Justin has split, and the group proceeds to steal the equipment as compensation.

At the same time, Gavin [[Brighton Beach|tries to get re-involved]] with Charlie, who is [[Half the Week Away|immersed in finding out more]] about the missing girls. He [[Precious Blood: 11AM|accompanies her]] to [[Lauren]]'s apartment, where they find Steve and Terry putting her in the trunk of their car. After Charlie races off after them and leaves him behind, Gavin goes to the pub to drink his worries away. When Charlie [[Precious Blood: 3PM|seeks his help]] a few hours later, she finds him doing work online and drinking only [[Orange Slurpee|Orange]] Juice. While there, they run into Terry, who tells them that Steve is Kate's killer and that he's going to kill Lauren, and [[Precious Blood: 4PM|leads them]] to an abandoned bunker. However, Charlie and Gavin soon discover that Terrence is actually the murderer, and had begun working for the Order to avoid going to prison after the assault on the Hymn of One building on New Years Day. Gavin and Charlie escape, and [[Precious Blood: 6PM|run into]] Steve and Lauren, who had overpowered Terrence and made a break for it. Gavin and Lauren remain outside while Steve and Charlie go inside to look for Terrence.

When Charlie is [[Precious Blood: 8PM|abducted by Terrence]], community members begin leaving [[Voicemail|voicemails]] on Gavin's answering machine, telling him to go to his Aunt Joan's house, where they are being held. When he doesn't answer, Lee sets out to find him, and [[Precious Blood: 9PM|he finds Gavin]] (and Lauren) in an ally blaming Steve for what happened to Charlie. Lee informs them where they are being held, and they [[Precious Blood: 10PM|go to Aunt Joan's house]]. There, they find that Terrence has doused the house in gasoline, but is chased away by the Watcher and Shadow before he can set in on fire.

Afterwards, Gavin confronts Charlie about her [[Precious Blood: 7PM|romantic interactions]] with Steve earlier in the night, and he orders her to leave.

===Pining Over Charlie===
After an almost month-long hiatus, Gavin [[Connect With This!|made a blog]] mocking Steve's new cult, [[The Celestial Network]]. Days later, he runs into Lee and [[Meryl]] at the unemployment office, where he recommends Lee for a job in stealing software and bankrupting a business. It has been implied that he has been living with his Aunt Joan while looking for a job. Lee invites him to attend a [[The Dinner Party|dinner party]] at [[the new flat]] in order to try to reconnect with Charlie. However, Steve attends as well, and the two almost come to blows, but the fight ends when they find out that Charlie is stuck at work.

When Julia invites Gavin to her wedding, Gavin attempts to [[Sex, Drugs and on the Dole|convince Charlie]] to go with him so they can laugh at how ridiculous the entire situation is. Charlie rejects his advances at first, but throws herself at him during Julia's [[The Hen Night|hen night]] after having an emotional breakdown and a bit to drink. However, at [[Julia & Rupert|Julia's wedding]], Steve attempts to hijack the event, leading Charlie to have to talk him down outside. Gavin, upset, begins drinking the vodka he had brought as a wedding gift and begins making inappropriate remarks towards Julia, followed by an emotional outburst where he knocks over the gift table. Rupert demands that he leave, and Lee and Lauren follow him out to try to console him.

==Background==
===A Sister Missing===
Lauren was first spotted by [[Steve]] and [[Terrence]]. Believing that the girls recently kidnapped may have had some connection to Kate's killer, they made their way to the home of the latest abducted girl. Though they merely wanted to ask some questions regarding the kidnapping, they [[Lauren (video)|met a distraught Lauren]], the sister of the latest kidnapped girl. Threatening them as well as calling them names such as "pervs" and "nonces," she made it clear she had no desire to believe a word they were saying, arguing, ''"What's next? You gonna get me a couple of sweets or take me to see the puppies in your car?"''

While the boys were unsuccessful, Charlie and Julia [[Doorstepping|managed to convince]] Lauren to come to a clinic specialized in Lauren's ailment ''(see below)''. Unfortunately, Lauren [[Batwoman|became absolutely irate]] with Charlie and Julia the next day, upon spotting the two chatting with Steve and Terrence. Just before she started attacking with a cricket bat, she shouted, ''"What, you think you can act all matey and concerned around me and then let these two paedos come and kidnap me?"''

While the constant badgering ''was'' enough to convince Lauren that she was indeed in danger due to her connection with the drug trial, Lauren chose to believe that both Charlie and Steve are involved with the kidnappings, especially because as she points out, [[Let my sister go|''"I can't help wondering how her and that freak Steve know so much about it."'']] No longer trusting the people that could help her the most, Lauren became more in danger than she had ever been.

Later on Lauren had a change of heart and decided to visit Charlie at work and hear what Charlie had to say. After hearing the [[The Weekend Starts Here?|explanations given by Charlie]] about the experiments, the kidnappings and about the Order Lauren left, not believing a word of it, referring to the [[K-Team]] as ''"Freaks"''.

Steve and Terrence decide that the only way to keep her safe is to [[Precious Blood: 11AM|kidnap her]] so that the kidnapper can't get to her. Lauren gets [[Precious Blood: 2PM|locked in a room]] in an abandoned bunker, and is eventually [[Precious Blood: 5PM|joined by Steve]] after Terrence turns on him, [[Precious Blood: 4PM|revealing]] that he is, in fact, the one responsible for Lauren's sister's disappearance. However, Steve manages to overpower Terrence, and he and Lauren manage to escape. Steve [[Precious Blood: 6PM|leaves Lauren with Gavin]] when he and Charlie go back to find Terrence.

Lauren and Gavin [[Precious Blood: 9PM|resurface]] after Charlie gets [[Precious Blood: 8PM|abducted]] by Terrence, and are joined by [[Lee]] and Steve and they all go to Gavin's [[Joan|Aunt]]'s house, where Charlie is being held. Upon [[Precious Blood: 10PM|arriving]], they realized that Terrence was planning on setting the house on fire, but ultimately fails when a [[Kate's Watcher|Watcher]] and [[Michelle Clore's Shadow|Shadow]] show up and try to capture him after he told too many of the Order's secrets. After Gavin kicks Charlie out of the house for becoming intimate with Steve, Lauren and Lee try to comfort her.

===Fighting the Order===
Afterwards, Lauren [[Happy Food|moves into an apartment]] with Lee and Charlie, the latter of whom sinks into a depression and locks herself into her room. Lauren uses the next few days to let the revelation that Terrence has murdered her sister [[The Drugs Do Work|sink in]], and [[Bang Out of Order|decides]] to fight the Order with Steve. The two [[Called To Arms|establish contact]] with a [[TAAG|Los Angeles-based Resistance group]] and [[Lord Carruthers (video)|provide them]] with information regarding a [[Lord Carruthers|man]] they are [[Final Appeal|looking for]].

Once [[Jonas]] arrives in London, Lauren decides to [[Raise The Roof|throw him]] a welcoming party, which ends up a success, though Jonas has a hard time holding his alcohol. Lauren decides to go against Charlie's wishes and [[What Is She Saying?|show Jonas]] the DVD she recovered in the bunker which put a hit out (in Turkish) on Jonas and his friends. Worried, Jonas decides to [[Outta Here|head back to America]]. When their car arrives, Lauren calls Steve after she is unable to locate them and discovers that they have been abducted by an Assassin, from whom they manage to escape.

While Steve is [[Crazy Border Crossing!!|Away in America]], Lee posts a [http://www.bebo.com/BlogView.jsp?MemberId=4999964827&BlogId=6551713537 blog] saying that he and Lauren will be attending Saturday of Radio 1’s Big Weekend. Lauren conveys through her Bebo page that she is upset with TAAG for abandoning Steve, and urges him to return to London. However, Lauren is caught off guard when Steve makes [[The Celestial Network (video)|a video]] where he starts a [[The Celestial Network|new cult]]. She [[Primrose Hill|confronts him]], only to discover that he had only agreed to meet her in order to give a Pro-Celestial Network speech to the camera. Lauren becomes frustrated and accuses him of doing this as a way to avoid Charlie.

==Drug Trial==
Like Kate, Lauren and her sister went to [[Dr. William Griffin]], where they believed they were part of a drug trial that was said to prevent {{wikipedia|Endometriosis}}. Unfortunately for the trial participants, [[Dr. William Griffin|Dr. Griffin's]] was actually trying to artificially create [[trait positive]] girls. Though he was successful, the pathogen used to harvest the girls virtually destroyed their immune systems, which means that unless Lauren stays trait positive, her life may end unpleasantly soon.

She travels with two body guards, dressed in black with dark sunglasses. She told Kate at the exhibition at the [[Second Space Gallery ]] that she has made some really fine work, that a lot of people are very interested in her and that she has caused "a lot of buzz". When Kate demanded to know what the shooter meant by [[the Order]], Michelle Clore replied "let me show you."

Michelle Clore [[Why?|met with Kate]] immediately before Kate's disappearance. It is unknown what she told Kate, but Kate was visibly upset during their meeting and Kate's behavior changed dramatically afterwards. Kate assaulted [[Charlie]] and willingly got into a van with a man in a dark suit and sunglasses.

[[Dudley]] and [[Dr. William Griffin]] believe that Michelle Clore is an [[Elder]] of [[the Order]]. In actuality, Michelle was keeping an eye on Kate to make sure her [[trait positive]] levels became normal again. This implies that Kate was being prepared for the [[Ceremony]]. Once Kate found out, she ran off with a list of genetically altered trait positives and lived on the streets. Kate's friends believed that Kate defected back to Michelle, but Michelle [[Kate Come Home|admitted]] that she had a team trying to track down Kate and did not know her whereabouts.

On [[Resolution|New Year's Day]], [[Terrence]] sought retaliation on Clore and her [[Watcher]]s for stealing [[Gavin]] & [[Tariq]]'s software that he had invested in. As Terrence pulled a semi-automatic weapon on a defenseless Clore, a group of Watchers and [[Shadow]]s stormed in and saved Michelle.

Following Kate's murder, Charlie sought Michelle for answers regarding Kate's final days. Michelle denied having anything to do with Kate's murder, and suggested that fault may lie with [[Steve]].

While Charlie and Steve [[Precious Blood: 6PM|search the bunker]] for [[Terrence]], they find a disk containing Michelle Clore speaking in Turkish. It is [[Outta Here|later revealed]] that she has put a hit out on the [[TAAG|Los Angeles-based resistance group]].

Originally from Connecticut, Jan spent many years in Topsfield, MA before moving to Los Angeles, California, where she lives today with her dog, Wally. Her background includes experimental filmmaking and all-around storytelling.

In 2003, Jan bought a ticket to something called "The Angel Project," which was a theater installation piece by Deborah Warner. This "journey" was part solo scavenger hunt and part spiritual quest, but not in a traditional religious manner. The experience amazed Jan and got her thinking about the bridge between reality and [[Alternate Reality Game|alternate reality]]. She then read an article about the ARG "{{wikipedia|I_Love_Bees|I Love Bees}}" in The New York Times, and quickly found herself reading everything she could find on [[Alternate Reality Game]]s (ARGs).

After lurking in ARG communities for many months, Jan took part in her first game, called [http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/index.php?f=131 Zoe's World]. The experience inspired Jan to create her own game, which she wanted to dive in and do almost immediately. However, she waited and worked on plotting her story out for a year and a half. Such a large amount of preperation time was practically unheard of in the "{{wikipedia|Alternate_reality_game#Unique_terminology|puppet master}}" community, but Jan was working to create the entire game herself and wanted to make sure she had spent the time to do it properly.

In 2006, Jan released her first game, [http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/index.php?f=205 Sammmeeeees], and found that it was a huge hit. After the conclusion of the game in winter 2006, Jan began working on a sequel, [http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/index.php?f=226 Sammmeeeees II], which she released in June 2007. Jan had joined lonelygirl15 in May 2007 and despite the fact that her time was somewhat limited Sammmeeeees II was also a great success. While her time remains constrained, Jan loves writing and says that she will always find a few moments in the day for "dreaming up the next big thing," no matter how busy she gets.

Jan has said that she enjoys the contrast of working on lonelygirl15 and her smaller "grassroots" alternate reality games. With lonelygirl15, she is able to reach a larger audience and affect more people, but also realizes that it is much harder to incorporate the interactivity she loves and pushes so hard for. Whatever ideas she is not able to use with lonelygirl15, Jan applies to her smaller games. She has commented on how interesting it is to learn what works with larger and smaller audiences.

Jan's upcoming projects include a new Alternate Reality Experience (ARE), which should launch in late March or April of 2008. Although the project was first conceived as a small experimental project, it has now been redesigned for worldwide release. However, in keeping with the rules of ARG "{{wikipedia|Alternate_reality_game#Unique_terminology|curtains}}", she has not publicized the name of this game. She is also working on a television show based somewhat on Sammmeeeees, which she hopes will embrace the idea of cross-media entertainment. While working to pitch this show, Jan ran into a great deal of difficulty in trying to explain what ARGs were to network executives. However, in the past few months, Jan has found that they have been significantly more familiar with the concept and have generally embraced her show's idea.

Interestingly, Jan has found similar troubles explaining what ARGs are to her mother. She laughingly quotes her mom as saying, "Honey, I have no idea what you're talking about, but I'm glad you're having fun."

==A Sister Missing==
Lauren was first spotted by [[Steve]] and [[Terrence]]. Believing that the girls recently kidnapped may have had some connection to Kate's killer, they made their way to the home of the latest abducted girl. Though they merely wanted to ask some questions regarding the kidnapping, they [[Lauren (video)|met a distraught Lauren]], the sister of the latest kidnapped girl. Threatening them as well as calling them names such as "pervs" and "nonces," she made it clear she had no desire to believe a word they were saying, arguing, ''"What's next? You gonna get me a couple of sweets or take me to see the puppies in your car?"''

While the boys were unsuccessful, Charlie and Julia [[Doorstepping|managed to convince]] Lauren to come to a clinic specialized in Lauren's ailment ''(see below)''. Unfortunately, Lauren [[Batwoman|became absolutely irate]] with Charlie and Julia the next day, upon spotting the two chatting with Steve and Terrence. Just before she started attacking with a cricket bat, she shouted, ''"What, you think you can act all matey and concerned around me and then let these two paedos come and kidnap me?"''

While the constant badgering ''was'' enough to convince Lauren that she was indeed in danger due to her connection with the drug trial, Lauren has currently chosen to believe that both Charlie and Steve are involved with the kidnappings, especially because as she points out, [[Let my sister go|''"I can't help wondering how her and that freak Steve know so much about it."'']] No longer trusting the people that could help her the most, Lauren has perhaps become more in danger than she has ever been.

Later on Lauren had a change of heart and decided to visit Charlie at work and hear what Charlie had to say. After hearing the [[The Weekend Starts Here? |explanations given by Charlie]] about the experiments, the kidnappings and about the order Lauren left not believing a word of it, referring to the [[K-Team]] as ''"Freaks"''.

Steve and Terrence decide that the only way to keep her safe is to [[Precious Blood: 11AM|kidnap her]] so that the kidnapper can't get to her. Lauren gets [[Precious Blood: 2PM|locked in a room]] in an abandoned bunker, and is eventually [[Precious Blood: 5PM|joined by Steve]] once Terrence turns on him, [[Precious Blood: 4PM|revealing]] that he is, in fact, the one responsible for Lauren's sister's disappearance. However, Steve manages to overpower Terrence, and he and Lauren manage to escape. Steve [[Precious Blood: 6PM|leaves Lauren with Gavin]] when he and Charlie go back to find Terrence.

Lauren and Gavin [[Precious Blood: 9PM|resurface]] after Charlie gets [[Precious Blood: 8PM|abducted]] by Terrence, and are joined by [[Lee]] and Steve and they all go to Gavin's [[Joan|Aunt]]'s house, where Charlie is being held. Upon [[Precious Blood: 10PM|arriving]], they realized that Terrence was planning on setting the house on fire, but ultimately fails when a [[Kate's Watcher|Watcher]] and [[Michelle Clore's Shadow|Shadow]] show up and try to capture him after he told too many of the Order's secrets. After Gavin kicks Charlie out of the house for becoming intimate with Steve, Lauren and Lee try to comfort her.

===Fighting the Order===
Afterwards, Lauren [[Happy Food|moves into an apartment]] with Lee and Charlie, the later of whom sinks into a depression and locks herself into her room. Lauren uses the next few days to let the revelation that Terrence has murdered her sister [[The Drugs Do Work|sink in]], and [[Bang Out of Order|decides]] to fight the Order with Steve. The two [[Called To Arms|establish contact]] with a [[TAAG|Los Angeles-based Resistance group]] and [[Lord Carruthers|provide them]] with information regarding a [[Bree's Elder|man]] they are [[Final Appeal|looking for]].

==Drug Trial==
Like Kate, Lauren and her sister went to [[Dr. William Griffin]], where they believed they were part of a drug trial that was said to prevent {{wikipedia|Endometriosis}}. Unfortunately for the trial participants, [[Dr. William Griffin|Dr. Griffin's]] was actually trying to artificially create [[trait positive]] girls. Though he was successful, the pathogen used to harvest the girls virtually destroyed their immune systems, which means that unless Lauren stays trait positive, her life may end unpleasantly soon.
