==Character Icons==
One problem I have with the design now is that it is not clear that you can click on the individual character icons to view the main characters' pages. The icons simply look like part of the design at present. :You get the normal link hand icon over them, so those not familiar with mediawiki in general should get it by instinct. And even if they don't, [[Characters]] is the first link in the first content box. In a worst case scenario, a confused person just takes one click longer.

The whole point of putting the icons on the front page like that is to give people an easy way to familiarize themselves with the characters. People won't just automatically click the [[Characters]] link. That's like saying we only need to put the stills from each new video, because people will click on them ''knowing'' they can get to the video transcript pages based on the fact that the hand icon is there... and if not, they'll be able to click the "List of Videos" link on the sidebar, which takes them to the list of videos anyways, so what's the point of listing the videos on the portal page anyways? The point is ease of access, which is why the character icons are there in the first place as well.

::And I think there is a big difference between the character icon placement you proposed and the one we have now. Currently, they are in a separate column and each icon has a box with the name of the character underneath. It is much more obvious that you can click those images and/or the links to learn more about the characters than it is on your proposal, where there is no text and the images just look like part of the header design. However, given that more whitespace is generally regarded as "lighter" and "easier to grasp" by users, and I don't see anything lacking space, I honestly don't quite see the problem. The news boxes would not be smaller anyway - if anything, they would be just as high, but longer, with the descriptions only filling one line, and the content descriptions would all be in one line.

I really like the rollover names too, and I definitely think it helps, but I don't think it solves the problem entirely. We really need a clear indication that these are links. I think that part of the thing here is that the people who are commenting are people who are familiar with the current layout, and already know that these images should be links... but any new viewers that LGPedia draws in could very easily be confused by the proposed setup. Perhaps something like.. a little arrow that says "Click here to learn more about these characters"... or something to that effect should be considered? I'm not sure how to best do this, as obviously I want to keep it as aesthetically pleasing as possible, but I also think functionality and navigability for new users is really important and something we should all keep in mind. Now the thing that would probably be impossible to do on a wiki: I think it might be cool if we could put buttons to the left and right of the images that when you roll over them, they scroll. You are ''still'' the only one who complains about the character icons. I had one suggestion to totally change the background color, which was unsigned and not taken serious by ''anyone'' (and would look like crap), one suggestion to put "Characters:" next to the characters box, which, permanently, would destroy the layout, and on hover would be the same time of fix as now, and these remarks about the video list length now, which a) is minor, and can be fixed later, b) I can't even reproduce/understand in the first place, and didn't come up in the month before, so it's likely a taste question anyway, and c) one column has to be longer anyway. Period. It's forced by the way I coded this. Not to mention I already proposed a fix above (collapsed expandable div). So we have one non-serious, anonymous suggestion, one suggestion that only seeks to please you, not specifically mentions the poster actually dislikes the current state, and this minor taste issue today. In the same time, we got three "this looks great!" type of answers, and no one really objects. FH14 and Pheon don't really object - they just don't like the length of a certain content item. Neither do ''you'' really object to the design as a whole, you'd just like to put giant arrows on the character icons.

Even with the minor nitpicks people still have, it's way better than the current version. I am a Mac user and as such i strongly believe that good design should be inherently intuitive to the user. The film strip looks nice and the roll overs were a good first step but I cannot help but feel we are missing one small adjustment to the design that will solve the dilemma once and for all. Now is the time to do that and I would be more than happy to try out designs or contribute in any way to finding a really great solution. He is a Research Scientist who has been with the company for three years. He received his B.S. in Biochemistry from UCSD in a record three years, graduating in 2004. His area of study was ribozymes with a special focus on autocatalysis.

==A Flood of Emails Asking for Help==
Through investigative work and help from members of the [[forum]]s, [[Taylor]], [[Daniel]] and [[Jonas]] were able to track down Spencer's [[MySpace]] and e-mail accounts and urged fans to contact him. They hoped that Spencer would have information about the serum his father, [[Isaac Gilman]], was making to help make [[Bree]] "Trait Negative."

When confronted, however, [[What Up Blogosphere!|Spencer replied]], ''"although I'm a scientist like him, I have no idea what compound you guys are talking about. So . . . Everyone. Stop. Trying. To. He also took it upon himself to "train" Jonas, Daniel, and Taylor when they prepared for [[Mission Possible]], which was the TAAG's opportunity to collect a blood sample from a "Trait Positive" girl for the serum.

[[Bree]], [[Daniel]], and [[Jonas]] met Sarah at a park in [[Crazy Emo Chick]], which marked Sarah's first appearance on video. Sarah's behavior in this encounter was clearly more mischievous than Taylor had earlier implied.

As far as anyone can tell from the video, the original plan was for Bree, Daniel, and Jonas to meet Taylor a local park. The plan soon changed for unknown reasons, however, as Sarah showed up instead, scaring the [[BDJ|Trio]] by faking she had a gun on Daniel's back. Before anyone was the wiser, she demanded the camera be shut off.

Jonas eventually gained Bree and Daniel's trust and friendship when he came through for Daniel when [[Bree's Gone|Bree ran away]], and when he helped them escape when [[45 Seconds|Bree's father died]]. Jonas also participated in [[Valentine's Day Massacre|Daniel's rescue]] and got to meet [[Tachyon]] and [[Brother]]. However, this trust was temporarily shattered when Bree suspected him of [[How Dumb Am I?|being in the Order]] and [[Interrogation 101|held him hostage]]. Jonas managed to [[Proving Bree Wrong|prove himself not guilty]] in the eyes of Bree and Daniel by showing them a document written by his father that seemed to prove [[Jonas's parents|his parents]] were against [[the Order]].

Jonas didn't forgive Bree for holding him hostage right away but stuck with her and Daniel. He brought Bree and Daniel to his [[On The Road Again|Aunt Alex's house]], who was away on business at the time. Jonas tried breaking into his Aunt's office to see if there was more info about his parents and their involvement with the Order, but ended up [[Flesh Wound|cutting his hand in the process]]. After a trip to a local veterinarian to get fixed, Jonas found a [[My Hand Hurts|folder]] containing names of people who were also against the Order who have disappeared. Jonas and Daniel were invited by [[Alex]] to a [[Uncle Dan|fashion party]]. Daniel and Alex appeared to be very interested in each other, much to Jonas's dismay. At this party, we also met Jonas's cousin [[Toby]] whom Jonas hasn't seen since his [[Jonas's parents|parents]] funeral. Bree posted a [[Lucy!?!?!|video]] saying there was a photo at the party which she thought was Alex and [[Lucy]] and warned the guys to leave Alex's home and meet up with her.

Jonas so far has five family members who have been in the series.

==Jonas's life==
Although an amount of money is never given, Jonas owns a large house, a cabin, at least two vehicles, and appears to have been paying all of Bree's and Daniel's bills for several months. Jonas has also mentioned that he does not work and has no intention to. Prior to turning 18, he had a full-time nanny and attended a lot of psychotherapy. To support this lifestyle indefinitely, Jonas must have inherited at least several million dollars.

Jonas says that he has been too quick to trust people in the past. He has been taken advantage of for his money and mentions that once he stopped throwing giant parties, a lot of his friends stopped calling him.

Many fans have observed that Jonas is something of a lonelyboy. While Bree turned to books and stuffed animals, Jonas has turned to pop-culture and sports. Jonas makes constant references to movies and TV shows, often very obscure ones, and also enjoys extreme sports, boxing and foosball.

Many have also speculated that Jonas is gay. This arose both from his friendship with Daniel, and his lack of interest in Bree. Although, in "[[Uncle Dan]]," Jonas is apparently interested in a girl named [[Carla]] who comes on to him very strongly. This is evidenced by his giddy reaction to the camera after she gives him a little kiss. He also [[Uncle Dan (D-Bone Remix)|rejects the advances]] of another man at the party, [[Damien]]. After getting Bree back, he and Bree were [[Relationships#Bree_and_Jonas|getting very close]]. It was confirmed that Bree lost her virginity to Jonas.

==Fan Activity==
Fans remained largely suspicious of Jonas's motives in offering such generous support to Bree and Daniel. Fans noted that Jonas initially only extended support to Bree, rather than to both Bree and Daniel. Moreover, because he simultaneously became a member and posted his first video and showed interest in Bree when she was on the run from [[the Order]], fans were suspicious that he may be connected with the Order. He is indeed connected to the Order through his family, which is divided into supporters and detractors of the Order. How much Jonas actually knows about the Order and its counter movements is unknown, but it seems to be very little.

Since the inclusion of Jonas as a regular, his popularity has slowly grown. In May 2007 a fan club was started in his honor. It is called the [[Jonas_Fan_Club | Secret Society of Jonas Fans]] because of the indication that Jonas is shy around accolades. ==Plot Background==
Daniel graduated from high school in June 2006 and had a graduation party which Bree was not allowed to attend. When summer began, he taught Bree how to make video blogs and was the one who set up her YouTube account. As the summer progressed, Daniel urged Bree to rebel against her strict parents and was concerned about her religion and the ceremony she was supposed to partake in later that year.

Like many fans, Daniel began to investigate Bree's religion and even decided to follow her around and record her actions, even after Bree had asked him [[My Helper|not to do so.]] On both these occasions [[Lucy]] took Bree somewhere; once to a nearby park for what appeared to be a practice session for the upcoming ceremony and then a trip to a medical complex.

Daniel later broke into Lucy's apartment. He found on her computer pictures of himself. He became worried and posted a video on the subject. His worries had finally been reflected onto Bree, causing her to question her [[Hymn of One|religion]].

When her parents disappeared with the local Deacons, Bree went [[On The Run|on the run]] with Daniel. As a result, Daniel dropped out of school at a junior college, where he was taking film classes, and he left his job at [[Gas 'n Eats]] to accompany Bree.

For the next few months they lived out of Daniel's car, several motels, and even off the streets before coming to [[Jonas]]'s aid in the winter of 2006. While Bree chose to go to Jonas, Daniel chose to go home before ultimately changing his mind and joining Bree and Jonas at [[Christmas Surprise|Christmas]].

In January 2007, Daniel was kidnapped by the Order. The Order used a drugged Daniel in the video [[Miss Me?]], to convince Bree to do the ceremony. Bree and Jonas successfully rescued Daniel and ultimately [[The Human Ransom|foiled the Order's plans]] with the help of [[Tachyon]] and [[Brother]].

After being rescued, Daniel traveled with Jonas and Bree through California, Las Vegas, Mexico, and Texas. Throughout their traveling, Daniel had a tendency to become [[inebriated]] (as noted in [[Uncle Dan]], [[Vegas, Baby!]], [[Spring Break Sucks]], and [[Intervention]]). Before arriving in Texas however, Daniel claimed he was [[Quitting The Sauce|sober once more]] (Daniel's previous [[Drinking Problems|period of sobriety]] followed his rescue from the Order).

He has returned home after the events of the season finale, and has said that he [[My Parents Suck Too|will no longer be blogging]].

==Relationships==
Beginning with [[Boy Problems...]], Daniel's potential romance with Bree has been on and off. Over the course of the series, Daniel's relationship with her has come as close as [[Bree And I Hooked Up|"hooking up"]] and as far as Bree asking Daniel to stop following her.

Daniel is much more social than Bree, having been known to go to parties, which he had coerced Bree into sneaking out to go to. Two of his other friends have been named, [[Paul]] and [[Andrea]].

Since Bree has rejected many of Daniel's advances, Daniel began to show a [[relationships#Daniel and Alex|romantic interest]] in Jonas's Aunt [[Alex]]. This ended soon after it was revealed that she was still involved with the Order.

For a while, in response to the somewhat aggressive advances of [[Sarah]], Daniel seemed to enjoy the attention and flirting, possibly hinting at a growing mutual affection, however, Sarah soon wanted him to [[Dude Back Off|"back off"]] and things cooled down.

In [[Drunken Yodeling]] Daniel announced he had a new love interest, [[Mallory]], and showed us her picture. She appeared in person in [[Hot Date]] where Daniel took her out and then lied to her about his past.

As for Daniel's family, his parents don't have much influence on him, due at least in part to a history of [[inebriated|alcoholism]], to which Daniel struggles with himself. His parents' alcoholism also meant that Daniel spent more time with his [[Comfort Food|grandmother]], which he did until she died.

*Daniel apparently has two cameras. One is a webcam that shoots videos in the standard 4:3 format. The other is a mini-DV handheld that shoots videos in the 16:9 letterbox format. We have seen the webcam in a mirror in the video [[What Did Daniel and Dad Talk About?]] and Jonas mentions receiving a tape from Daniel via Bree in the video "Your Decision." Interestingly, Jonas also appears to own both a 4:3 tethered webcam and a 16:9 handheld videocam.

Jonas tried breaking into his Aunt's office to see if there was more info about his parents and their involvement with the Order, but ended up [[Flesh Wound|cutting his hand in the process]]. After a trip to a local veterinarian to get fixed, Jonas found a [[My Hand Hurts|folder]] containing names of people who were also against the Order who have disappeared. Jonas and Daniel were invited by [[Alex]] to a [[Uncle Dan|fashion party]]. Daniel and Alex appeared to be very interested in each other, much to Jonas's dismay. At this party, we also met Jonas's cousin [[Toby]] whom Jonas hasn't seen since his [[Jonas's parents|parents]] funeral. Bree posted a [[Lucy!?!?!|video]] saying there was a photo at the party which she thought was Alex and [[Lucy]] and warned the guys to leave Alex's home and meet up with her.

Jonas so far has five family members who have been in the series.

==Jonas's life==
Although an amount of money is never given, Jonas owns a large house, a cabin, at least two vehicles, and appears to have been paying all of Bree's and Daniel's bills for several months. Jonas has also mentioned that he does not work and has no intention to. Prior to turning 18, he had a full-time nanny and attended a lot of psychotherapy. To support this lifestyle indefinitely, Jonas must have inherited at least several million dollars.

Jonas says that he has been too quick to trust people in the past. He has been taken advantage of for his money and mentions that once he stopped throwing giant parties, a lot of his friends stopped calling him.

Many fans have observed that Jonas is something of a lonelyboy. While Bree turned to books and stuffed animals, Jonas has turned to pop-culture and sports. Jonas makes constant references to movies and TV shows, often very obscure ones, and also enjoys extreme sports, boxing and foosball.

Many have also speculated that Jonas is gay. This arose both from his friendship with Daniel, and his lack of interest in Bree. Although, in "[[Uncle Dan]]," Jonas is apparently interested in a girl named [[Carla]] who comes on to him very strongly. This is evidenced by his giddy reaction to the camera after she gives him a little kiss. He also [[Uncle Dan (D-Bone Remix)|rejects the advances]] of another man at the party, [[Damien]]. Fans remained largely suspicious of Jonas's motives in offering such generous support to Bree and Daniel. Fans noted that Jonas initially only extended support to Bree, rather than to both Bree and Daniel. Moreover, because he simultaneously became a member and posted his first video and showed interest in Bree when she was on the run from [[the Order]], fans were suspicious that he may be connected with the Order. He is indeed connected to the Order through his family, which is divided into supporters and detractors of the Order.
