At the beginning of the loneygirl15 storyline, Bree claimed Daniel was her only friend. In spite of comments made to many of her videos suggesting otherwise, she [[Purple Monkey (video)#Notes|denied]] that she and Daniel were anything more than friends, Eventually, Bree [[Boy Problems...|asked Daniel if he had feelings for her]], to which he replied that he did. Daniel later [[I Want to Take Bree to a Party!|asked Bree to go to a party]] with him. She asked her parents, but [[Should I Or Shouldn't I?|they said no]]. Bree decided that she would [[I'm Going to the Party!|sneak out and go to the party anyway]]; it is at this party that Daniel gave Bree [[My First Kiss|her first kiss]].

Daniel later got angry at Bree, because he believed she was [[How Could You?|putting her religion]] ahead of their relationship. As Bree became more involved in preparations for [[the Ceremony]], Daniel became worried about Bree and began to [[Where Are They Going?|follow her]]. Bree was upset and asked Daniel to [[Daniel Crossed The Line|leave her alone]]. However, as Daniel went further and further to protect her, Bree became [[Daniel, Be Careful...|worried about Daniel]]. The relationship between Bree and Jonas began when Jonas posted [[Happy Thanksgiving|video responses]] to Bree's blogs. Bree [[Thanksgiving|thanked Jonas]] for reminding her of what's important in life. Jonas then [[Trust Issues|offered Bree and Daniel]] a place to stay. Bree took him up on his offer, but became [[Tough Cookie|upset and secluded]] when Daniel didn't join her. Jonas attempted to cheer her up by buying her cookies and teaching her how to [[Skateboarding|skateboard]].

Soon, [[Christmas Surprise|Daniel arrived]] and [[Bree's Gone|Bree left]], causing Jonas to worry that she had taken advantage of him. After a while, they decided to leave the bunker and meet up with [[Taylor]], who claimed she could help them find [[Jules]], another girl chosen for the Ceremony. Daniel swore everything was platonic between them. Jonas then gave Bree a piggy-back ride back to the truck.

After the trio [[We Found Julia!!!|found Jules]], Bree and Daniel attempted to [[It's Not Kidnapping|kidnap her]], much to the disdain of Jonas. However, after Jules [[She's Missing|escaped]], Jonas did not hesitate to comfort Bree. First, he went out with Daniel to try and hunt Jules down, but ended up going back to the motel room to check on Bree. He gave her a hug, a kiss on the forehead, and many words of encouragement. His overall demeanor was extremely indicative of his growing feelings towards Bree.

After Bree [[What the F*@k???|went back to the Order]] Jonas said that he had been [[1500 Miles|getting close to Bree]]. He said that he believed she liked him too.

Once Jonas, Daniel, and [[Sarah]] got Bree back from the [[Getting Her Back|hands of the Order]], Jonas attempted to [[Bedside Manner|deprogram]] her by dancing around and trying to make Bree giggle. He further bonded with her as the deprogramming [[Taking Advantage of Her|continued]], pushing her hair behind her ear, hugging her, and giving her a piggy back ride through the woods. [[HOLY SH%T!!!|One night]], Sarah decided to sneak up on Bree and Jonas and she caught them kissing on the porch. Jonas's demeanor in his next video, along with indications that he was in Bree's bedroom, led to speculation that Jonas and Bree [[The Morning After|spent the night]] together. However, the next morning, Bree took off, leaving Jonas to question Bree's true motives. He strongly [[Mr. Park Ranger|believed]] that what happened between them was real and challenged Bree to look him in the eyes and tell him otherwise. Daniel first mentioned Alex when he found [[Beach Bum|photographs]] she had taken at Jonas's cabin. He said that he was impressed by her photographs and thought that she was very cute. Jonas was very upset by the possibility of any sort of relationship between Daniel and Alex, and warned Daniel to [[Aunt Alex|stay away from his aunt]]. However, Daniel ignored this and began to question Alex about her personal life. He helped Alex make a [[On The Hot Seat|marketing video]] to explain what she did at her job. Things continued to heat up between them at a [[Uncle Dan|party]]. Daniel flirted with Alex, and possibly even made out with her. Bree soon raised suspicions that Alex was [[Lucy!?!?!|part of the Order]]. Daniel believed that [[Alex Is...|Alex was good]] and wanted to give her a chance to explain herself. Alex ended up coming clean and admitting that she was working for the Order. However, this was later called into question as Alex engaged in an [[Lying Bastards|emotional discussion]] about the safety of her nephew. Even when Alex was once-and-for-all exposed as part of the Order, Daniel tried to comfort her and protect her when Jonas pulled out a gun.

When Alex came back into Daniel's life following a long hiatus, Daniel greeted her in a friendly manner. This was largely because he realized that Alex had been helping him, Jonas, Sarah, and Taylor in their attempt to save Bree from the cult for a long time. When he asked Alex what the meaning of her codename, [[TCC]], was, she snarkily replied, "Why don't you ask your new girlfriend?" This remark seemed bitter, perhaps implying that Alex was not really over Daniel, and was jealous of his budding [[#Daniel and Sarah|relationship with Sarah]].

After discovering Gina is Bree's Biological sister, Daniel expressed that they had a lot of similar traits despite the fact Gina was unwilling to open up. When she built a bench, Gina smiled around him unlike when Sarah came to talk to her. He took her shopping when Sarah and Jennie tagged a long with him as back up. Later on in her [[I've Never Done This Before|first blog]] it was very clear that she and Daniel were flirting as he playful touched and pushed her. She ripped up her picture and he left, which clearly upset her. Later, Daniel and Gina talk to each other about the drawings, as Daniel presses Gina about her portrait of Bree's mother.

Although there does not appear to have been any actual sexual tension between Daniel and Jonas, there have been tongue-in-cheek type references to such in some videos, as would not be atypical among some young American males. Like any couple they have had their ups and downs during their friendship.

Daniel was initially [[Jonas?|mistrustful of Jonas]] and resented the fact that Bree considered his offer of shelter without appreciating his own sacrifices. Even after [[The Test|asking his "Internet friends" for advice]], Daniel resented Jonas's intervention enough for him to go [[Back Home|back home]] and leave Bree alone with him.

When Daniel finally met up and stayed with Jonas, around [[Christmas Surprise|Christmas 2006]], they soon got a chance to bond with each other during a [[Roadtrip|road trip]] after [[Bree's Gone|Bree's sudden disappearance]]. The road trip [[The Unthinkable Happened|culminated shockingly]], forcing them to stick together even more. As Bree was upset and [[Hiding In The Bathroom|wanted to be alone]], the guys had a chance to play [[Foosball|foosball and talk about girls]].

During Daniel's relationship problems with Bree and his subsequent drinking, Jonas was often found keeping Daniel company or helping him home. The friendship continued to flourish as they played even more [[Foosball Battle|foosball]] and Jonas gave brotherly [[For The Ladies|tips on fashion and girls]]. After being captured and rescued, Daniel acknowledged that Jonas's constant [[Drinking Problems|psychoanalyzing was influencing him]], and this suggested they were becoming close enough to discuss more personal and serious issues with each other.

Daniel had a falling out with Jonas soon after they moved to Jonas's cabin when Jonas's relationship with Bree began to progress as [[Snow Angels|they spent time together without Daniel]]. Daniel regarded Jonas's brotherly relationship advice as [[Jonas Sucks|hypocritical]] now that they were potential rivals and he was [[Men Are From Mars|explicitly rude about Jonas on camera]] a couple of times. They eventually made up after [[Cracked The File|"a long bro-down session"]] but Daniel still did not believe Jonas was not interested in Bree. Daniel and Jonas bonded again during and after an incident at the cabin which resulted in Bree mistrusting Jonas and tying him up. As Jonas subsequently [[On The Road Again|refused to talk to Bree]], he got close to Daniel again.

Their brotherly bond was tested by Daniel's [[Aunt Alex|interest in]], [[On The Hot Seat|chatting up of]], and [[Uncle Dan|blatant drunken flirting]] with Jonas's aunt Alex. Whilst drunk, Daniel [[Intervention|revealed his feelings]] of inferiority to Jonas and his disdain for Jonas's sporty, positive [[Running For Life|attitude to life]]. But, even whilst drunk, he confirmed his friendship and this was cemented when he eventually [[Quitting The Sauce|put his life in Jonas's hands and sobered up]].

Daniel and Jonas appeared to get along for a while; however, as Jonas bonded with Bree while they were [[Bedside Manner|deprogramming]] her from her brainwashing by the [[Hymn of One]], Daniel got angry at Jonas. He claimed that Jonas's tactics were [[Taking Advantage of Her|unethical]] and that he was using her depleted state of mind to get close to her.

After Bree [[The Morning After|ran away]] again, Jonas got angry at Daniel, [[Mr. Park Ranger|believing]] that he cared more about flirting with Sarah than looking for Bree. Soon, Jonas became so fed up with Daniel and Sarah's budding relationship that he [[In (Search of) sanity...|left California]] to stay with Taylor in [[Zavalla|Texas]]. Shortly after Sarah and Daniel's relationship [[Dude Back Off|ended]] though, Taylor and Jonas [[Going Back to Cali|returned to California]]. Since Bree's death, Daniel and Jonas resumed their relationship as friends and set out to help Jonas's younger trait positive sister, [[Emma]]. Trouble hit the duo's relationship when Jonas began [[A New Hope!!!|believing]] that Emma possessed powers to kill Elders, further fueled by the [[Help Us!|videos]] being posted by a mysterious [[LaRezisto|stranger.]] Daniel [[Bullsh%t|dismissed]] this idea as ludicrous, and according to him, had an "epic battle" with Jonas over this disagreement. [[Decision Time|Tension]] between them remained high, becoming higher when Jonas [[How Could You? (season 2)|took]] Emma with him to meet [[Claire]], the stranger who had been posting videos under the name LaRezisto. Daniel, although furious with Jonas, begged him to come back with Emma. When it became very clear that Jonas's decision had, in fact, been a [[My Fatal Mistake|mistake,]] resulting in the loss of Emma, he came home but refused to speak to anyone, even Daniel. Daniel made a [[He's Not Talking|plea]] for Jonas to rejoin the effort and save Emma, telling him that he was there for him when he was ready to talk. Once again, continuing their friendship, Daniel and Jonas went alone together back to [[Jonas's house]] where they were able to talk to Emma for a few short moments on the phone. The relationship between Daniel and Jonas remained relatively solid from the time Jonas lost Emma to the time that Jonas and Sarah were [[Abducted?!|seemingly abducted]] during a stakeout, and while Jonas was in Mexico gathering what information he could, Daniel remained behind [[Missing Friends|missing them.]] Jonas soon left [[DANGEROUS DESERT|the desert]] and Sarah behind. With that, and the saving of [[Gina]] was accomplished, the gang went to [[Big Bear Lake]] to hide out. When Emma made the [[I Love You All|decision]] to leave, Jonas angrily [[Things Fall Apart|lashed]] out at everyone, including pushing Daniel down and yelling at him. Daniel lied to her, but didn't reveal what he told her. He explained "...The thing is, I really like her and I-I just wonder if she's..gonna like me after she find out how fucked up my life is. I don't want to ruin that." Later, though, Daniel told Mallory about his involvement in the resistance, as we found out in [[Secrets Revealed]]. Much later, Daniel [[Hot for Teacher|caught]] Mallory in the act of cheating on him with Professor DelMundo and stormed off before she could talk to him. While these are not "conventional" ways of flirting, it was clear that Sarah was attempting to get attention from Daniel.

Sarah continued to try to [[Let's Play Doctor|get Daniel's attention]], pulling her shirt down for him, suggesting that he use a stethoscope to "listen to [her] heart." He rejected her advances, telling her to "calm down, tiger." However, Daniel began to warm towards Sarah as she expressed a common interest in chocolate frosted doughnuts.

After Sarah [[CAMP PLAY|traveled to LA]] to be with Jonas and Daniel, they went to the [[site of the camp play]] to help look for a package left by [[Drew Avery|Bree's dad]]. However, she got distracted by her desire to shower. Daniel promised Sarah the best shower she'd ever had in return for her help looking for the package. Sarah smiled and whispered something in Daniel's ear, presumably in regards to him joining her in the shower. This caused Daniel to laugh and shake his head.

After they [[Opening the Box|returned to Jonas's house]], Sarah surprised Daniel while he was taking the trash out. She pretended to be the Order, saying that she had plans for Daniel to be her personal slave. He laughed and called her a freak, but remained quiet when she responded with, "But I'm your freak." Later, while [[Entertaining Myself|pretending that P. Monkey was Daniel]], Sarah mimed kissing him and holding the puppet up to her chest. She said that that was Daniel's "favorite part."

A few days later, while [[It's A Cult|spying on the Hymn of One seminar]], Daniel's cap from [[CAMP PLAY|a previous video]] was on Sarah's head; later in the video, it was back on Daniel's head. When the trio went to [[Getting Her Back|rescue Bree]], Sarah continuously made moves on Daniel in the car, telling him that there were better ways to relieve stress than tapping his hands incessantly. When Sarah got wrestled and chased by the Order guards, Daniel ran after her and refused to leave until he knew she'd escaped the guard.

She asserted that Bree would never love him and begged him not to go. However, Daniel accused Sarah of being manipulative and went anyway. Sarah also admitted that she loved Daniel, but decided that she could never compete with his love for Bree and claimed that she was giving up trying.

Daniel and Sarah were then separated for some time. However, Sarah was forced to leave her home in order to [[Shadow of Death|transport the Serum]], which she still had possession of, for Jonas to give his sister, [[Emma]]. After some time on the run, Daniel, Sarah, and Jonas rented a house and began to live together. Almost [[Student Film|a week later]], Daniel began to film [[My School Project|a project]] for one of his classes. In it, the script called for a kiss to be shared between his character and Sarah's. Privately, she questioned why he would choose to kiss her instead of his girlfriend along with questioning why he hadn't told Mallory the truth of their fight against the Order. Sarah took it upon herself to [[Secrets Revealed|tell Mallory]] this, possibly hoping she would leave Daniel. Surprisingly, he had already told her.

Sarah soon [[Battle of the Sexes|became fed up]] with Daniel and Jonas's distrust of Sonia and has decided to [[They Beat Her!!!|go out on her own]] to save Emma. She followed a lead about [[Chris]], asking Mallory to [[A Woman's Touch|join her]] at Chris's favorite bar. However, she did not tell Mallory her true intentions, which were to have Mallory flirt with a drunken Chris to get information on Emma's whereabouts. When Mallory realized that that's what Sarah intended, she stormed out, accusing Sarah of setting it up to break up her and Daniel's relationship. However, Sarah claimed that this was nonsense, and insisted that if Mallory went through with it, "Daniel would return to normal."

After Daniel caught Mallory cheating with DelMundo, Daniel decided to make Sarah his romantic focus once again. However, Sarah was busy [[Free Love|being brainwashed]] by the Hymn of One at the [[Lullaby Project]]. Daniel saw her video and became [[Tired of B*tches|enraged]] and became fully committed to saving her, just as Sarah was becoming [[Share My Sleeping Bag|fully committed]] to the Hymn of One. After a rather unusual [[Party of One|chat with fans]] in which she declared "on Friday my lyrics will formalized and i will sing my song," the gang rushed to [[Party Crashers|Sarah's rescue]]. After rescuing Emma and Gina from the Order, Sarah, Daniel, and the others took up residence in a cabin in the woods. In the end he [[Bloodlines: Part 4|sacrificed]] himself not only for Gina, but Emma as well. There is much speculation that Dr. Hart truly loved her and gave her his money and property in case something should happen to him. When Daniel told Gina that he had lost his best friend, she [[Babe in the Woods|responded]] that not only was Dr. Hart her best friend, but her only friend and her entire family. She also told Daniel that Dr. Hart had ruined her life.

After escaping from Verdus with a tube of apple juice Emma expressed her happiness with Dr. Hart's clever ability to get them out. In [[Get Your Freak On]], they made several jokes about Genius Freaking in which Dr. Hart opened up that Emma was just like Gina. When Jonas and Dr. Hart went to talk to the media to expose the Order, Dr. Hart was [[They Shot Him!|kidnapped]], and despite Jonas's protest, Emma wanted to go find him because he saved her life and she truly cared for him. This was a betrayal in which he intended on sacrificing Emma to save Gina, even going so far as to tie Emma to a gurney and send a [[Girl Tied Up|message]] to Jonas, explaining that he needed Emma if he wanted to save Gina. During the Ceremony, however, Dr. Hart seemed to have changed his mind, and [[Bloodlines: Part 3|plotted]] with Emma to poison the blood of [[William Porter]], thus saving both girls. Hart sacrificed his life to save the girls and in his final video, he spoke out to TAAG, saying he couldn't bring himself to sacrifice Emma. Upon watching the video, Jonas said that Emma was very distraught and could not stop crying over his death.

Ever since the two met, Sarah expressed her distrust of Carl, often referring to him as [[Stakeout... With A Girl|"Creepy Carl."]] However, once she arrived at the [[Lullaby Project]], Sarah began to [[Intense / in tents|warm up]] to him. After staying there for over a month, she came into [[Party of One#Chat|chat]] and announced that Carl would never abandon her. She said that he had told her that her song had arrived and that they would "celebrate her evolution" that Friday. TAAG became nervous for Sarah's well-being, and went down to the Lullaby Project to save her. They witnessed a part of the Ceremony, during which Sarah was given the book, ''[[Finding the One]]'', and Carl said "''I never thought I'd see the day when I'd say, 'Sarah, welcome to my family.' But, Sarah now knows, she's always been in my family.''" Immediately after that, TAAG stormed in and kidnapped Sarah, who did not want to leave her newfound "friends."

As time went on, and Sarah's apparent brainwashing [[Bus-ted|wore off]], she stopped mentioning Carl and began to [[4 Girls, 2 Guys|refocus]] her romantic energies on Daniel. However, when the group [[Tangled Web|decided]] that they needed to contact Carl to learn more about [[Elizabeth Avery|Bree's mom]], Sarah [[Spanish Princess|looked back]] at the book she received at the Ceremony. On the back, there was a love letter from Carl to Sarah, written in Spanish. Reading back over it, Sarah admitted for the first time that, while she was down at the Lullaby Project, she had slept with him and that it had meant something. She referred to him as a "good guy" and admitted that she didn't know if she wanted to find him, as she was scared that she had hurt him. The members at LG15.com soon translated the letter from Carl, revealing he wanted to start a foundation to eradicate poverty: [[Sacred Spirit]]. The Sacred Spirit MySpace was soon tracked down, and using these leads, Jonas and Daniel [[Coffee and Donuts|found the Sacred Spirit offices]]. During their stakeout of the offices, Jonas tried to get Daniel to admit he's jealous of Carl and Sarah. While Daniel dismisses this idea, Jonas insists that Sarah is trying to make him jealous, since he's been spending so much time with Gina. At the end of the video, they see Carl coming out of the building; however, before Jonas can go talk to him, Daniel stops him and tells him that they should come back when they have a plan.

During a backyard barbecue, [[Mexican Mating Machine|TAAG receives an unexpected visitor]]. Carl himself shows up on their doorstep and delivers Sarah flowers as well as the news that he's left the Hymn of One. Sarah [[Hostage Crisis|posts another video]] later, talking about how negatively everyone reacted to Carl. She talks about how she thinks Carl is "sexy" and doesn't care if he isn't such a good guy. She also says that Carl had made them a deal: he would give them all the information they needed to find Bree's mom, as long as he got some alone time with Sarah. By the end of the video, Sarah says she'll consider his offer. It appears that Sarah agrees to the deal because in [[Stock Options]], Carl comes over to pick up Sarah for lunch; he also informs the TAAG when the board meetings at Verdus are held.

After Gina is kidnapped by Elizabeth Avery and returned, Daniel [[Kick His A$S!!|accuses Carl]] of setting Gina up and attacks him several times. Carl merely denies it and says that because he satisfies Sarah, Daniel is just jealous; he even adds that Daniel's pushing her away. Despite the group's feelings for Carl, Sarah decides to do her part and [[Fries And A Shakedown|calls him up for lunch]] in an attempt to dig up some information on Elizabeth Avery; Carl, however, catches on quickly. After Elizabeth Avery [[Hook Up At the Park|personally gives TAAG a name]] to work with, [[Mary Annette]], Daniel takes out the P. monkey e-mail from Bree, where she mentions receiving a marionette that came from Alcombe. With some further research, a website for Alcombe Antiques was found, and TAAG set off for Alcombe [[Cruisin%27_With_The_Ladies|via a boat]].

Shortly after [[Shop of Horrors!!!|helping out]] at the Alcombe Antiques store in search of a lead on [[Lord Carruthers|Bree's Elder]], Carl called Sarah and [[Adios Amigos|invited]] her on a ''real'' vacation. Feeling "ignored", Sarah accepts and leaves. Fifteen videos later, TAAG returns to the house after watching a video of Michelle Clore, saying that one of the members of the TAAG needs to be killed. The group finds Sarah and Carl already in the house, looking very much together and in full [[Corn Nuts|Mexican swing]]. Carl is mentioned but isn't seen again until an emergency arises; Sarah [[Tick Tick Boom|receives an e-mail]] with a video file attached from Carl, showing that he has been kidnapped. In the video, he can be seen strapped to a bomb, along with the threat, ''"EITHER YOU COME TO ME BY FRIDAY AT NOON OR YOUR FRIEND GOES TICK, TICK BOOM!"'' After she has calmed down, Sarah talks of the side of Carl no one got to see: "He always took me seriously. He always went out of his way to be good to me... And he's... He's kind and thoughtful and he cares about other people. And... and he's innocent in all of this." Emma eventually comes to Carl's rescue, after which TAAG goes offline temporarily.

After the group's hiatus, Sarah develops the idea of having a prom at [[Big Bear Lake|the cabin]] they've escaped to. She invites Carl to go, a gesture that stirs controversy, since no one is supposed to know where they are; only Emma immediately supports Sarah in her decision, although she can't believe Sarah would [[Partner Swap|choose Carl over Daniel]]. At the prom, however, Sarah shows [[Prom: It's To Die For - Part 2|deep embarrassment]] for Carl's outfit and dancing, and she grows irritated when Carl spends much of his time e-mailing and talking to someone on his cell phone. As a result, she spends her attention more on Daniel, who she had originally turned down because she had already invited Carl. When Jonas [[Prom: It's To Die For - Part 3|accuses Carl]] of still being Hymn of One, Sarah attempts to defend him. She can no longer do so when Jonas produces a recently dated Hymn of One center swipe key that he found in Carl's car. Sarah seems to get over him quickly, however; not long after Carl is knocked out and tied up, she pulls Daniel into a private room and proceeds to make out with him while Carl gets away with Lucy. '''Steven "Steve" Roberts ''' is a part-time student from London. He's introduced as a mysterious friend of [[Kate]]'s, whom she met at the library while searching for information on amnesia. He was an active member of the Hymn of One, but has since renounced his religion.

==Background==
Steve joined the Hymn of One after reading "[[Finding the One]]", a book promoting the teachings and "motives" of the religion, which promised to help him find peace in his life. Steve threw his entire life away for the Hymn of One, which helped him quit smoking, but also lead to his isolation and his inability to form close relationships with other people. It is implied that his parents are dead, as he states in a written blog that the only ones he has are a grandmother in Doncaster and a pet cat.

===Befriending Kate===
Steve meets Kate at the library and claims to suffer from memory problems as well. He offers to help [[Kate]] regain her memories. However, [[Charlie]] thinks Steve's a creep and [[Tariq]] thinks he's lying just to put a move on Kate. Kate, on the other hand, can't understand why her friends don't like him, and believes they are simply judging him without trying to get to know him.

To Tariq's displeasure, Kate invites Steve to [[Charlie's party|Charlie's birthday party]], and they spend the entire event sitting to one side and talking while everyone else is dancing and having fun. Charlie and Gavin also become uneasy at his presence, especially when Kate ignores Tariq when he tries to talk to her. Gavin convinces Tariq to sneak around in Steve's bag, and he distracts Kate and Steve while Tariq does just that. Tariq finds several pamphlets promoting a religion called the Hymn of One. Upon further investigation, Tariq learns of the Hymn of One's involvement in the ritualistic murder of a [[Bree|teenage girl]] in California, and becomes convinced that Steve is luring Kate into a similar fate. Tariq goes to Kate's apartment only to find Steve there as well, and the two get into an arguement that ends with Tariq punching Steve and Kate kicking Tariq out of the apartment.

Steve claims he's not trying to push his religion on Kate and the matter is seperate from his wanting to help her. He found pictures on Kate's cellphone that were taken when she was missing, and figures out they are of Carnaby Street, and the two plan to go down there and take a look around. Gavin and Charlie become concerned for Kate's safety, and find the [[lonelygirl15]] videos just as Tariq had. They figure out that Kate must be trait positive, and that the blood specialist did something to her as a result. However, before they can go and warn her, they are locked inside Gavin's office by a faulty security system.

That Saturday, Steve is seen running from Kate's doctor's office by [[Sophie]], a girl who has been monitoring Kate's videos. She goes to the office only to find an ambulance along with a dead body on a strecher, which turns out to be that of the Specialist. When Kate confronts Steve about it, he claims he had nothing to do with it. She doesn't believe him and knocks him out, [[The Prisoner|gagging and tying him to a chair]]. When Kate interrogates him, he admits he never had amnesia, instead, someone in the Hymn of One sent him to protect her. He used the amnesia to get her to trust him. When Kate accuses him of killing the doctor, he tells her he believes there's an unknown evil involved, although no one seems to believe him. Steve later threatens to press charges against Kate, but is talked down by Gavin. He says he still wants to help Kate despite everything.

===Saving Kate===
In early October 2007, Charlie caught up with Steve to [[Hymn of One (video)|ask him for help]] in finding Kate. He tells her the Hymn of One had nothing to do with Kate's disappearance and he can't help Charlie because he's being promoted within the Hymn of One that day. He goes inside the meeting hall, leaving Charlie outside. Steve later watches one of Charlie's videos and notices she's sick. [[Bless You|He goes to her flat]], bringing homemade soup. He tells her he can't get Kate off his mind, and he wants to help Charlie find her while also proving the Hymn of One had nothing to do with it. Although, later, Steve [[Hear My Song|finds Michelle Clore's name on the Hymn of One registry]] and decides to expose her to protect the Hymn of One's name.

Steve leads Charlie and Tariq [[No Turning Back|to the Watcher's van]]. He explains after he started looking into [[Michelle Clore]], the van started following him. Tariq confronts the Watcher and steals the van. Steve takes over driving, with Charlie in the passenger side and Tariq in the back, trying to figure out what to do. Three day later, they stop in the woods and try to make camp. But, instead, Steve and Tariq fight with each other. During the night, Steve takes off with the laptop and papers found in the van, shocked and angered by the fact he found the [[Sabotage|Watcher's picture linked to a Hymn of One symbol]] . When Charlie and Tariq confront him, he throws down the papers and laptop in anger and storms off. Later on, Steve sneaks to a convenience store. He buys some cigarettes, explaining that he quit when he entered the Hymn of One, but he's having a little trouble hearing his eternal song at that moment. On his way back to camp, he's [[Out of the Frying Pan...|attacked by Dudley and his father, Dr. Griffin]].

After returning home, he tries to stop Kate from meeting with Charlie due to the fact the Doctor and his son are there. Even still, he's unable to stop Charlie from injecting Kate with the trait negative serum. Steve comforts Charlie when Kate runs away, leaving her behind. Later, Steve posts a blog saying he's going [[Losing My Religion (KateModern)|going back to the Hymn of One]]. However, he has become doubtful about other aspects of his life, and posts [http://www.bebo.com/BlogView.jsp?MemberId=4559170159&BlogId=4900844680 a blog] stating that he'll be spending time in Doncaster with his grandmother.

Almost two months later, Steve starts to text Charlie messages, and the two meet. He explains he was still in the Hymn of One so he could properly investigate. He plays a video, taken by him, of Michelle Clore talking to an unknown person about Kate's trait positive levels. When Kate takes off again, Steve and Charlie go to Michelle Clore's house to find her. Michelle Clore warns Steve that [[Kate Come Home|eavesdropping wasn't a good idea]]. "You never know what could end up on your conscience." Steve and Charlie briefly [[Homeless (KateModern)|catch up]] with Kate again, but she manages to sneak off and run away. The next day, she posts a [[Kate Positive|video]] explaining that she has found her purpose in life - to save other [[trait positive]] girls, and begs Charlie and Steve to discontinue their search for her. The two reluctantly agree to do so.

===Trail of the Killer===

After Kate's death, [[HoO What When Where How?|Steve visits Charlie's flat]], not knowing where else to go. While there, he hears a radio broadcast about the Hymn of One and its alleged connected to the murder. Steve runs off to find an explanation. When Charlie confronts him about this later, he feverishly denies that the Hymn of One had anything to do with Kate's death. Police officers show up, and although he tries to run, he is arrested for suspicion of Kate's murder. He's [[It's Hymn!|released soon after]], as there was no evidence against him.

Steve shows up at Kate's memorial, but ends up getting into [[Kate's Memorial Service|a fight with Tariq]], who also accuses him of killing Kate. A few days later, he [[Help, I Need Somebody!|approaches Charlie]] and asks her for her help investigating the murder, as he fears that the police "don't seem that interested in the case anymore." After a suggestion from Charlie, he decides to go to the last place Kate was seen alive, [[Man on a Mission|the cafe from her last blog]]. He goes in and negotiates the release of the surveillance tape of that day. While watching it, he notices [[Patricia|Patricia Neilson]] talking to Kate before the two leave the cafe. He goes to find Patricia for answers.

When Patricia contacts Charlie, she says she'll meet with her, but [[Don't Bring The Goons|not to bring Steve and Tariq]]. After watching the video, Steve and Tariq [[Enter The FTO|find Charlie]] while she's talking to Patricia. They get into a fight with one of the waiters, allowing Patricia to sneak away in the commotion. However, Patricia goes to Charlie's office the next day and tells her that [[The FTO]] believe that [[Rupert Van Helden]] is the one responsible for Kate's death. Following the revelation of Patricia's information, Steve insists that the FTO are out to give the Hymn of One a bad name. He praises Rupert Van Helden, and views him as a brilliant thinker with nothing but good things to offer for the Hymn of One and the world, and regards his book, [[Finding the One]], as a work of art. However, he fails to convince the others, who go to his book signing pretending to be journalists and attempt to get him to incriminate himself. However, Rupert is well informed to the situation, and assures them that he had nothing to do with Kate's death. Rupert and Steve meet when Rupert goes to leave flowers at the sight of Kate's death, and Steve is starstruck. Together, they [[Who Are The FTO?|visits the FTO's headquarters]], and expose the organization as being fronted by [[Jeffrey]], Dr. William Griffin's nephew, who was trying to discredit the Hymn of One to avenge his family members' deaths.

===Losing his Religion===
In his [[Terry|next blog]] he is seen drinking and smoking again, angry that all he had was gone. Steve lashes out at Michelle Clore for [[Her Alibi|accusing him]] of Kate's murder, angrily stating "Don't blame them; dump it on the screw-up". He was then approached by [[Terrence]], now calling himself Terry, who talks about how the Hymn of One helped him and asks if Steve has ever heard of the religion. Steve [[Temper Temper|shows up at Charlie's doorstep]] in the middle of the night a few days later, banging on the door and asking for Charlie to talk with him. He declares he really did love Kate and has no one else to talk to who felt the same. Charlie, frightened at the situation, refuses to open the door. Though Charlie still has issues trusting him, Steve has maintained the hunt for Kate's killer, with Terry now in his confidence.

His latest lead for Kate's killer found him on the porch of [[Lauren]], the sister of the latest abducted girl. Also trait positive, Lauren has refused to trust Steve or Terrence . . . quite simply, despite their pleas that Lauren is ill, she still sees them as nothing but "weirdos" and possible kidnappers. Though he [[Message to Lauren|responded]] trying to gain her trust, he only made matters worse when Lauren found Steve and Terrence alongside Charlie and Julia, thereby destroying Lauren's trust in the girls as well.

Unable to make her see reason, Terry convinces Steve to [[Precious Blood: 11AM|kidnap her]] to keep her safe. Steve becomes uneasy after the deed is done, and posts [[Precious Blood: 2PM|a video]] explaining his actions, and also expresses his disgust over Rupert's [[Precious Blood: 1PM|hypocrisy]] about his teachings of abstinence. He becomes so distressed that he begins smoking again. Terrence uses Steve's distress to his advantage, and manages to [[Precious Blood: 3PM|convince Charlie and Gavin]] that Steve was the one who murdered Kate and kidnapped the girls, and that he was going to harm Lauren as well. However, they soon [[Precious Blood: 4PM|discover]] that Terrence was the actual culprit, and he [[Precious Blood: 5PM|reveals]] that he has tied up Lauren and Steve in the bunker. When he forces Steve to access his Bebo account and post the video, he overpowers Terrence and he and Lauren manage to escape. Once Lauren is safely outside, Steve and Charlie [[Precious Blood: 6PM|go back]] to exert revenge on Terrence for what he has done. Instead, they encounter a [[Kate's Watcher|Watcher]] and [[Michelle Clore's Shadow|Shadow]] who chase them around the bunker. In the pursuit, they discover the body of one of the girls Terrence murdered, and decide to leave the bunker.

Steve and Charlie [[Precious Blood: 7PM|go to Steve's apartment]], where they confess their feelings for each other and become intimate. On her way home, Charlie is [[Precious Blood: 8PM|abducted by Terrence]]. When the community figures out where she was taken, Lee [[Precious Blood: 9PM|finds]] Gavin, Lauren, and Steve and convinces them to cooperate in order to save her. Upon [[Precious Blood: 10PM|arriving]], they discover that Terrence has doused the house in gasoline, and that he was planning on setting it ablaze once they were inside. Steve confronts him, but Terrence is chased away by the Watcher and Shadow from earlier. Gavin confronts Charlie about her relationship with Steve, and orders everyone to leave. Once outside, Steve tells Charlie that he can't be in a relationship until he does some soul searching, leaving her heartbroken. Days later, he goes to [[The Day of the Eternal Song|Rupert's lecture]] and accuses him of being an instrument of the Order.

===Fighting the Order===
Steve and Lauren team up in order to hinder the Order's activities in some fashion. They decide to aid a [[TAAG|Los Angeles-based resistance movement's]] efforts to [[Final Appeal|locate]] an [[Lord Carruthers|Elder]] who killed their [[Bree|friend Bree]]. They spend a week digging up information on his activities and on his connection to Bree's death. One of their members, [[Jonas]], arrived in London and [[LA to LDN|shown around]] the city by Steve. Steve and Jonas began looking for [[Lord Carruthers]], a man whom they believe is Bree's Elder. However, [[Hunting The Elder|their search]] has less-than fruitful result, and Steve believes that Rupert has put a hit out on them.

During that time, Lauren and Lee prepared a welcoming party for Jonas. When Charlie finds out, she is not happy, but decides not to pull the plug on the party, and begins drinking instead. When Jonas and Steve arrive, Jonas immediately dives in, while Steve goes out of his way to not make eye contact with Charlie. Lauren becomes frustrated with Steve's stubbornness, and is pleased when she catches Charlie sitting in the bathtub with an intoxicated Jonas. Steve is less than thrilled, and forces Jonas to focus back on their mission.

However, they soon discover that Michelle Clore was the one who had put out a hit on them. In the DVD Charlie recovered from the bunker, Michelle, in Turkish, tells members of the Hymn of One that they will be rewarded if they kill any member of TAAG and provide proof. Steve [[Outta Here|accompanies]] Jonas to the airport, and Steve stops their driver (actually an Order Agent) from killing Jonas.

Steve [[Crazy Border Crossing!!|accompanies]] Jonas back to LA, where his welcome is less than warm. Daniel accuses him of being the enemy, citing that he posted [[Free Will (video)|a video]] claiming that Bree's death was a hoax. Steve became very offended, and Gina becomes hostile towards him as well. As the discussion heated up, a van pulled up and began shooting at the group, injuring Steve. TAAG flee, leaving Steve behind, but call 911 and return to the scene to find him gone. Later, [[Hot Tacos|they wait]] for him outside the hospital, only to encounter the van once more. The group flees to the beach, where Steve thanks Jonas for coming back for him.

Later, when they find that the threats were ordered by a man running for congress, they decide to go to a fundraiser dressed as waiters in an attempt to kill or kidnap him. Steve was supposed to hit him with a bar, but hesitates, therefore letting the man escape. Everyone ran back to the car in order to escape Lucy and the bodyguard. In the car later they blamed Steve for the shootings and the fact they were being followed,then kicked him out of the car. He was left on the side of the road.

===The Celestial Network===
A few days later, Steve posted [[The Celestial Network (video)|a video]] announcing that he established a new cult called [[The Celestial Network]], against the Hymn of One. In this video, he hinted that he felt betrayed, and said that he had learned a valuable lesson: "It's impossible to find true happiness if you're obsessed with the past." He asked everyone to connect with him and join the Celestial Network. Worried, Lauren [[Primrose Hill|meets Steve]] on Primrose hill, and is annoyed that Steve brought a friend of his, [[Jeremy]], who was previously part of the Hymn of One but is now part of the Celestial Network. Steve explains that the events in America opened his eyes, and goes on a long explanation that Lauren soon realizes is for the camera. She accuses him of starting another cult to fill the void the Hymn of One had left, and also claims that he is only doing this so he doesn't have to talk to Charlie.

Steve attends a [[The Dinner Party|dinner party]] at Charlie's flat, where he gets in a heated fight with Gavin over the intentions of the Celestial Network, and later find out that Charlie is stuck at work. Over the next week, Steve focuses on Celestial Network activities, and surfaces at [[Julia & Rupert|Julia's wedding]], where he begins bashing the Hymn of One and spreading Celestial Network propaganda. Julia slaps him, and Rupert arrives a few minutes later, revealing that Steve had slashed his tires. He orders Steve to leave, and he is escorted out by Charlie, which upsets Gavin.

Steve decides to film the [[The Naked Truth|first official meeting]] of the Celestial Network and make it available on Bebo. However, the meeting is thrown into chaos when Gavin arrives and accuses Steve of conspiring with Kate (whom Gavin believes is alive and causing mayhem). He mocks the Network's message to the point where he equates it to a "cosmic gangbang" and begins taking off his clothes. Steve later [[Back on Brick Lane|accompanies Charlie]] to meet Gavin at Kate's grave, where they try to make him see reason.

It around this time that Steve and Charlie begin dating. Their [[Five's a Crowd|first on-screen date]] ends early when Charlie expresses her displeasure over the accompaniment to the "Two Blond Chicks", and seems to accuse the Celestial Network, and Steve personally, of practicing polygamy. After Charlie leaves, Steve expresses his confidence that she'll see the light, and the group goes off to a candy store. However, the two seem to have made amends, as they go on a [[Speakers' Corner|successful date]] the next week, though Charlie begins questioning what Steve's goal is with the Celestial Network. Steve seems genuinely troubled by the points she brings up, and posts a [http://www.bebo.com/BlogView.jsp?BlogId=6918949931 blog] on his bebo page asking for advice. Steve ultimately decides to Stick with the Celestial Network, but is forced to [[Celestial Not-work|borrow money]] from Charlie to pay expenses. Charlie is furious when she comes home to find Steve holding a meditation session in her apartment, and Steve promises to make it up to her by taking her on [[Golf Day Out|a fun day out]].

The day turns sour after Lauren goes missing, apparently [[. (video)|kidnapped]] by Terrence. It is later revealed that Lauren [[Much, Much Worse|faked her kidnapping]] in order to help the FTO [[Answers|kill Michelle Clore]] and Terrence, the later of whom [[Tez on Toast|made it out alive]]. Steve and the others begin desperately [[Where is She?|searching for Lauren]], but his is hindered by Jeremy, who is [[The Family Phillips|trying to get Steve]] to focus on [[The Celestial Network]] again. But after the situation becomes [[Much, Much Worse|more]] [[Rupert's Dead|serious]], Steve realizes that the Celestial Network has become a burden, and disbands it.

===Paying off a Debt===
The following day, Steve [[Love on the 436|is visited]] by the taxi driver he had thought he had killed back in April. He said that he and the Order were going to make Steve and his friends pay for what he did unless he did a favor for the Order. He was told he must steal Michelle Clore's [[The Last Work|Last Artwork]]. As Steve is told this, Charlie arrives, and Steve goes with her to Paris, the threat in mind. [[Tour de France|Once there]], the group spots Julia's bodyguard, and Steve follows him after they watch him make a phone call at a pay phone. He looses contact with Charlie, and spends his time deliberating over whether or not he should steal the painting. He [[Operation: Rescue Jools|shows up]] outside the exhibition of the painting, and runs into Charlie and Lauren. He claims that he had followed the bodyguard to the gallery, and Julia and the bodyguard's exit from the building seems to verify his story. He and the others follow Julia downtown, where they are accosted by a gang of hoodlums. Ironically, they are rescued by Julia's bodyguard, who leads them to where Julia is being held and helps them escape.

[[The Morning After (KateModern)|The next morning]], The Last Work [[Radio Ga Ga|is stolen]] from the museum, and the police are told that the culprit drives a silver Aygo. They locate the painting in the trunk of Charlie's car, and arrest her on the spot. Steve is [[Charlie is Innocent|convinced]] of Charlie's innocence, secretly believing that the Order had taken the painting themselves when he failed to do so. However, the group soon [[You've Been Framed|figures out]] that only one of them could have pulled it off. Julia is quick to [[Pointing Fingers|accuse Steve]] when he defends Lauren, who seemed to have the most to gain from stealing the painting. Toe immediately joins her cause, and Lauren reluctantly agrees when [[Whodunit?|she discovers]] via footage that the man Steve was talking to the last week was from the Order. They confront him, and Steve comes clean about the debt, but continues to maintain his innocence, although Julia doesn't seem satisfied with his explanation. Ironically, Julia was [[The Traitor Revealed|actually]] the one who had framed Charlie, having faked the abuse with Rupert in Order to lure Charlie to Paris to plant a fake in her car.

After Julia abandons the others in Paris, Steve and Lauren [[The Last Work: 1PM|pay their]] (and Toe's) way home. However, once they safely return to London, Toe reveals that he was able to pay his way back, but decided to conform to the stereotype that Steve had assigned him. Steve is furious, and demands that he pay them back. However, Toe refuses, and gets away from Steve. Once the confrontation is over, the group discovers that Lauren is missing, and see [[The Last Work: 2PM|the footage]] of her attacking Julia's father. Steve and the others arrive and [[The Last Work: 4PM|talk her down]], and she hides in the bushes outside with Steve while Charlie and Lee take care of an infuriated Julia. As they head back home, they come across Julia's car and find Rupert inside gravely injured. Steve convinces the others to take him to a hospital, seeing this as an opportunity for his debt to go away. Once they [[The Last Work: 6PM|get there]], Rupert reveals that the Shadow is holding Julia hostage, and convinces Steve to help him when he informs him of Julia's pregnancy.

The Shadow [[The Last Work: 7PM|posts Julia's location]] in the form of a puzzle, and Steve and Rupert [[The Last Work#8PM BST|go to Sophie's office]]. There, Sophie helps them decipher the puzzle with a less-than-helpful chat room at their side, and discover that she is on the roof of the very building they are in. They arrive, and [[The Last Work: 9PM|Steve watches]] and Rupert tries to convince the Shadow to let Julia go. The spectacle comes across as ridiculous, and Steve begins to wonder what he is doing there. He realizes that all he wants to do is be with Charlie, and he informs Rupert that he is leaving. Rupert is infuriated, and threatens Steve with bodily harm, which Steve laughs off. He departs on The Shadow beating Rupert to death with Julia looking on helplessly. He [[The Last Work: 12AM|sets up]] a birthday party for Lauren outside their flat, and contacts the others once they meet up with Sophie.

While they celebrate, Steve comforts Charlie while she copes with all that has happened, and Gavin tells Lee that he'll be waiting with open arms when Steve leaves Charlie for another cult. The group decides that filming their lives was partly responsible for what has happened, and smash the video camera.

OpAphid can be traced back to its first appearance, the video [[You Made the Right Choice, Bree!]], in response to Bree's [[My Difficult Decision]] video. OpAphid has since posted comments and videos to [[Bree]], [[Daniel]], and [[Cassie]]. These are generally warnings, some of them nicer than others, that insinuate that OpAPHID is connected to Bree's religion, and that [[Cassie]] and Daniel should watch their step carefully.

==Is She Really Missing?==

However, OpAphid has recently [[Remember Me?|emerged]] with a vengeance toward her [[OpAPHID|"former associates"]].

==Official [[Alternate Reality Game|ARG]]==
On November 21, 2006, [[The Creators]] [http://www.lg15.com/lonelygirl15/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3152 announced] that OpAphid is a 100% fan-created [[Alternate Reality Game]], but they liked it so much that they contacted [[Glenn Rubenstein|its creator]] and decided to make it the official ARG of [[lonelygirl15]].
However, on April 12, 2007, [[The Creators]] [http://www.lg15.com/lonelygirl15/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8664 announced] that due to a falling out with [[Glenn Rubenstein]], OpAphid would no longer be the official ARG.

==Recurrences of OpAphid videos==
OpAphid's videos are layered to say the least.
There is the surface message of the written and spoken text, the deeper meanings of the text, the text and audio that takes homework, backwards audio, and hieroglyphs.

OpAphid also uses a false ending which appears as if the video has ended and gone to the related video links, but then returns to the real video again before ending. Usually the only thing after the false ending, is OpAPHID's logo.

OpAphid uses video tags, some [[strange tags|strange]], that often match [[Bree|Bree's]], [[Daniel|Daniel's]], or [[Cassie|Cassie's]].

==Controversies==
Not everyone is a fan of OpAphid, however.

The answer (phone number) to the [[Set of Five]] puzzle was kept secret for the first few hours after it was solved (at the request of OpAphid). We are told it was done to maintain the experience for those who wished to solve the puzzle themselves and earn the "well done" first heard upon calling the phone number. This left a bad taste in the mouths of many, both new players who don't understand why people aren't giving out the answers and veterans who aren't used to a PM who locks down their game to quite this level.

OpAphid has since stated that if there are to be any other "grace periods" on revealing the solution to a future puzzle, they will be limited to a span of 2-4 hours. Recent puzzles have had no such restrictions.

==Gamejacking ==
OpAphid has taken credit for [[gamejacking]] Cassie's voice mailbox. Evidence in the video, [[Cassie Does Not R.I.P. (Rest In Peace)]] proves she had the passcode, and complete control of the mailbox.
