==Background==
Spencer works for [[Neutrogena]] and was recognized as the Employee of the Month in July of 2007 [http://www.neutrogena.com/spencer.asp]. He is a Research Scientist who has been with the company for three years. He received his B.S. in Biochemistry from UCSD in a record three years, graduating in 2004. His area of study was ribozymes with a special focus on autocatalysis.

Spencer shares [[Bree]]'s love of science, prompting his father to suggest that he mentor Bree. He also enjoys tennis, chess, music, and video blogging.

==A Flood of Emails Asking for Help==
Through investigative work and help from members of the [[forum]]s, [[Taylor]], [[Daniel]] and [[Jonas]] were able to track down Spencer's [[MySpace]] and e-mail accounts and urged fans to contact him. They hoped that Spencer would have information about the serum his father, [[Isaac Gilman]], was making to help make [[Bree]] "Trait Negative."

When confronted, however, [[What Up Blogosphere!|Spencer replied]], ''"although I'm a scientist like him, I have no idea what compound you guys are talking about. So . . . Everyone. Stop. Trying. To. Contact. Me. I've spent the last several months of my life mourning over the loss of my father. All these questions you guys are asking bring up some sad memories of him."''

Nevertheless, after participating in an online chat, and reading a letter from his father, Spencer became more sympathetic to the [[TAAG]]'s cause, [[I'm Here To Help|saying]] ''"I know I said I didn't want to get involved in all this stuff, but after reading my Dad's papers, I kind of feel like it's the right thing to do. My Dad would want me to help . . ."''

==Spencer's Help==
Since then, Spencer has succeeded in creating the serum that will make [[trait positive]] girls "Trait Negative," as instructed in the papers left by [[Drew Avery]] & Isaac Gilman. He also took it upon himself to "train" Jonas, Daniel, and Taylor when they prepared for [[Mission Possible]], which was TAAG's opportunity to collect a blood sample from a "Trait Positive" girl for the serum.

After [[Lonelygirl15 Season Finale 10 of 12 â 5 pm|Bree's death]], Spencer, like most of the other characters, claimed that he would [[Back to Work|no longer be vlogging.]] Unlike the others, however, Spencer has stayed true to his word. Spencer is now working abroad in Switzerland, but apparantly [[Sister to Sister|keeps in contact]] with [[Taylor]] via text mail. He is now back in LA, according to [[Kate Modern]], as he has [[Trait Negative|contacted Charlie]] and offered to send her the serum to give to [[Kate]].
