#Who is the blogger for this video, [[Daniel]] or [[OpAphid]]?
#Should this video be treated as a part of the [[List of Lonelygirl15 videos|LG15 video series]], as an OpAphid video, or both?
#How should [[Lose Something?]] and [[The Ends Justify The Means]] be treated since they are previous videos that were reposted on lonelygirl15.com?

:#OpAphid is the blogger. Even though Daniel is in the vid, it is clearly done Op-style.
:#Yes, and no. The lists should be merged. I saw on the lonelygirl15 website that they've added the OpVids to the regular video column. [[Lose Something?]] is now number 0121b, meaning it goes after [[Foosball Battle]] (although because of a glitch, it looks like it comes right before). [[The Ends Justify The Means]] is number 0115b, coming in right after [[Bree And I Hooked Up]]. In that case it actually shows up in the right order in the list. So this is an Op blog, but it comes after "The Cowboy" in the template, and not after "Lose Something?"... am I confusing you or making sense?

How does anyone know there are gonna be more Op Aphid videos on the front page? This could be the one and only.

:#I think the distinction between LG15 and OpAphid was just killed. This presents some difficulties for the LGPedia that I will try to address below.
:#All the OpAphid videos should be integrated into the series, using the numbers suggested on the sidebar of the main lonelygirl15.com page.
:#As far as the LGPedia goes, we do nothing but speculate in the notes section. What a person might do elsewhere is entirely up to them.
:#It's hard to tell at this point what Daniel is really on about with Cassie. He may have been reminded of her by the Order, (imagine if itscassie turns out to be canon, and Daniel has reconnected with her; it's possible, although I still don't think it's so) as the fact that it has been mentioned suggests it is going to be important to the plot.

The newest development with regards to OpAphid presents us with a question on which templates to use for these videos. The regular [[Template:Blog3|Blog3 template]] that we'd used for the official series or the green [[Template:Aphid|Aphid template]]. I suppose I have a slight preference for the Aphid template. According to the creators post at the forum, it looks like there will be two types of OpAphid videos -- those that are required viewing and those that are still primarily for the ARGers. :We have the Op template, might as well use it, I think. It would also serve to distinguish Op vids from regular blogs, and that distinction is needed now more than ever since the Creators have intertwined the two series.
:JayHenry, Brucker, what do you think about including these Op videos on the LG15 list of vids? It seems from the post JayHenry linked to that at least some of them should be treated as mandatory viewing material. Also, what do you think about "merging" the video pages? What I mean is, instead of OpAphid being a separate sequence of vids from LG15, work them as if they were another blog, like Bree's or Daniel's or Jonas's. Example: The "previous blog" to "Lose Something?" would be "Foosball Battle", instead "The Ends Justify The Means".

:::Okay, I've got a beef with the creators again. In trying to organize this information, we come up with logical ways to categorize and present it, and then once again, they change the rules. I think there is a big problem here that we have to go back and redo a lot of the stuff on these videos. Are they now ''all'' canon? Are we supposed to change our understanding of how the characters in OpAphid are interacting with lg15 characters? Do we need to redefine the concept of canon in some way, since the OpAphid videos were sort of pseudo-canonical, and now are full-blown part and parcel of the lg15 world? While I accept that there is artistic license to go where they want with their series, those of us who have been working hard on the LGPedia to make it all it is can get a bit tired when things get this scrambled. I wanted to discuss something about the videos as a whole, but wasn't sure where to put it. Then I realized that this incident embodies exactly the sort of thing I want to talk about.

Daniel mentions this article, but gives very few details about it. (Did the ''article'' say she was abducted, or just that she had disappeared? Was the girl ever found? Why was Crowley mentioned in the article if he was never linked to the incident?) That in itself is a bit troubling, but more troubling to me is the fact that nobody can find information on this anywhere but Daniel.

In some videos, when something odd happens, you can see that it's clearly a clue, for instance, when [[Purple Monkey]] holds up the numbers in [[Bree The Cookie Monster]]. In other videos, there are odd things that happen, and it's hard to tell what to make of it, like Bree's claim about sacrificing monkeys in [[A Peace Offering (and P. Monkey Boogies)]]. Is it something randomly made up to be funny, something purposefully made up to be a clue, or something that is a real-life fact that was included for one of the above reasons?

What are we really meant to make of the info in this video? There are many possibilities. The event may have really happened in 1943 in the real world, or maybe it's something that only happened in 1943 in the [[Breeniverse]]. If it was made up by the writers--regardless of whether it happened in the Breeniverse or not--was it put in Daniel's video to be a clue, or just to add a bit of spookiness to the story? While it seems a bit of stretch, it's a possibility that Daniel is lying, and the article doesn't exist, even in the Breeniverse.

So the main question on this video (and other matters like the [[Yield sign]] and the way some videos appear to have things edited into or out of them) for me is, is the vagueness of Daniel's reporting of this incident a case of Daniel being sloppy in conveying details, Daniel telling a clumsy lie, intentional vagueness on the part of the writers, or poor writing on the part of the writers? Okay, let me add more to this, because the revelations of the weekend highlight a little more of this issue, I believe. In [[Bree The Cookie Monster]], when Purple Monkey shows the numbers, as has been noted, this is the most clear and blatant clue in the whole series. The blatantness of the clue always seemed to me to be a case of sloppiness on the part of the creators, since it seems from what I read in the CassieIsWatching stuff, there are a lot of people who can dig out clues that are far more subtle, so why be so blatant about it?

Now it would seem that it was ''Bree'' who was being blatant. She put the clue in the video in such an obvious fashion that nobody could miss it, because she was planting a red herring for Daniel. The clumsiness of the clue was, in a sense, a part of the overall plotline.

So I think it once again brings a lot of things into question. I forgot to mention it above, apparently, but in many of the videos, with all this excess of editing, there are times when the lighting in the room seems to show that the video we are watching is edited out of order (I'm having a hard time finding a blatant example, but I'm pretty sure there was one). Well, the site belongs to the site owners. The site owners legitimately want to promote getting a return on their investment, however small the return from Revver clickthrus might be. Having a resource on the site they own point to their preferred site for video embedding, *rather than* to another site, is their prerogative. I feel it's a gross misuse of the concept "censorship" to use it in this context. Censoring is done primarily by governmental entities, primarily to suppress information. This official site preferring one host site for its videos over other sites is no more censorship than Anchor Cove deciding not to host a forum for ''cassieiswatching.'' On the other hand, I'm not going to get into a revert war over this. :I think it should be an open, not private, discussion. It seems to me that it's a problem because of Bukanator's strange status within the [[Breeniverse]]. He is a creation of [[The Creators]] and lonelygirl15 and Danielbeast both acknowledged him, and his administration of the fansite, in the comments of YouTube, thus he is a character. Comments from the YouTube accounts are canon, thus he is canon. So he's a canon unseen character. Of course lg15 and db "acknowledged" Buka, there is no question that he is "canon" and not a cassie spin-off character. What I'm saying is whether he is a character in the integral story line. For example in the Cookie movie some people that sent in suggestions were mentioned. Winekone and Brookers, etc. have been mentioned in the videos as well. Buka has not. Does that mean these random people are "unseen" characters too, just because Bree has mentioned them? No, Winekone nor Buka (as of right now) have not done anything to be a "part" of the story, and therefore not a character. If things had gone according to plan, we all would have thought Buka to just be some random fan who made a site like all the rest of us and there wouldn't even be a discussion as to whether he's a character to the plot or not. Remember, every page ever doesn't need a special place on the main page. I wouldn't be opposed to Buka being somewhere (a crew section, perhaps, as he is a "crew" member of sorts), but we can't confuse running the tribute site with being a character in the story! I can tell you right now a "bukanator" will never drop by in the videos ever, so why put him in a pantheon with Paul, Andrea, Bree's mom..., who one day could? We don't know that Buka would never have had a larger role in the ongoing storyline. I feel that to be an unwarranted assumption. If the "storyline" is perceived as being Bree and Daniel *and the response building up around them on the internet,* then any entity confirmed to have been invented by Miles/Mesh/Greg is just as valid a character as Daniel and Bree and Lucy are. If it is invalid to list Boris Bukanator as a character, although he comes from the Creators, why do we accept the tutle's name as "Owen," when that didn't come from the Creators? :It depends what you mean by storyline. Buka's not integral to the storyline if you mean the storyline of Daniel and Bree as written by [[Mesh Flinders|Mesh]]. But he ''is'' integral to the storyline of how the [[Lonelygirl15 production]] played out in the real world. Buka's fan site is integral to the production -- his fan site is still the hub of the LG15 community. I would argue that Winekone and Brookers and SteveXCraig are not characters because they're real people. Bukanator is, quite literally, a "character." Maybe we should make a separate category for him, other than "Unseen Characters," but I don't see anything that merits him being bumped off the main page. I agree Buka can be on the main page, just not in the "unseen characters" section. Unseen characters section should refer to those who have a chance of showing up and are in "Bree's" world. I think Bukanator, as he "acts" as a staff member, despite being just a character should be listed in the staff section. That way he is on the main page as desired but not listed as a character in the videos' story line.
I think that is an acceptable compromise. What is NOT acceptable is me just having to remove a "Boris Bukatar" as an unseen story character when he is ALREADY listed in the staff section. No matter what Bukanator and Boris Bukatar are completely one-in-the-same and there is NO reason to list him twice like that, nor to give Boris a page seperate from his on-line name Bukanator. I completely agree with Brucker. While the rest of the 'pedia should be left open to anonymous editors, there's good reason to protect this main page -- it's what most people see when they come here, and there aren't enough active editors to police the main page 24/7. Wikipedia protects its main page for the same reasons. It's not censorship to require somebody to take 30 seconds to sign up for an account before they edit this main portal.
