She is a teenage girl, about the same age as [[Maddison]], who just finished her first college year, majoring in communications. She started videoblogging as an assignment, and later met [[Linc]] in the park.

She and Linc went on a date, but things started to fall out when Rachel met Linc's cousin (whom Linc said he had been filming in the park). Linc's cousin had no idea what Rachel was talking about.

Rachel has an ex-boyfriend named [[Jordan]]. He was in a band, but Rachel broke up with him when he caught him sleeping with another girl. She went to a clinic to get the results of an STD test, where Linc saved her from an [[OpAphid]] agent.

Rachel was missing in action after Linc's video [[Worth The Wait?]], in which she vanishes in a tunnel and Linc is abducted by OpAphid herself.

However, on October 13th Rachel uploaded the video [[Where Does The Time Go?]], in which she explains that as soon as Linc had his back turned she hightailed it out of the tunnel and decided to return home to east Texas to her [[Rachel's grandfather|grandfather's place]]. Whether this is true, or if fake memories were implanted by OpAphid is unconfirmed.

Rachel also confirmed that her professor making her vlog in the first place was [[Dr. William Arscott|Dr. Arscott]] seemingly confirming that she is from Nacogdoches and attends school with [[Clara]].

On October 21st, Rachel uploaded the video [[Opportunity Crisis!]], in which she reveals that she received a call from her [[Rachel's boss|former boss]], offering her old job back. She is contemplating taking the offer considering she can't afford the apartment she is in. She considers getting a roommate but reveals she had the "[[Zoey (Redearth88 character)|worst possible dormmate]]" in college last year and so is concerned. On top of all that, she has picked up the wrong suitcase at the airport, accidently switching it with someone named [[Aly Zarin]], who she says "totally sounds like a Russian heiress or something".

In Rachel's next video, she explained that [[Aly Zarin]] had retrieved her suitcase and is actually "pretty cool". Aly had just gotten a long-term gig in Los Angeles and was looking to move out of her brother's apartment, as she and his brother's wife here not getting along. So Rachel decides to let Aly move in with her. Aly pays Rachel first and last month's rent "no strings attached", although she does ask if Rachel has any [[Purple Monkey|puppets]].

Rachel's next two videos discussed how well things were going with Aly and lead into discussion of Rachel's old roomate [[Zoey (Redearth88 character)|Zoey]], whom she didn't get along with...to put it lightly. Rachel also mentions a dinner party being thrown by "[[Rachel's boss|my boss]] and [[Rachel's boss's wife|his wife]]", which Aly is going to help her pick out clothes for.

The next few Rachel videos documented the results of picking out the clothes for the party. Rachel is disturbed by the fact that Aly seemed to only pick out revealing attire and was very focused on watching Rachel as she tried on clothes. This makes Rachel question whether she wants to live with Aly anymore. This thought is reversed in Rachel's next vlog, [[Exploring Myself]], in which she discusses why she reacted so harshly and questions her own sexuality.

OpAphid emerged encouraging [[Bree]], telling her that she was making the right choice by doing [[the Ceremony (ritual)|the Ceremony]]. She then posted a series of videos mocking [[Cassieiswatching|Cassie]] and declaring her a "psychic vampire". [[Tachyon]], while working undercover as a low level employee for the OpAphid organization, posted three ambiguous videos as messages to [[Brother]], her partner. One night, Tachyon fled her job and broke into one of OpAphid's information gathering facilities and stole important files. OpAphid called upon the audience to intercept this information as Tachyon left it for Brother to pick up. Tachyon only left a small piece of the information, so over the course of the next several weeks, the audience continued to intercept Tachyon's drops as she left them for Brother in different locations in California. Through these drops, it was discovered that [[Gemma]] was part of the Order and that she had been dating Brother while they were both in England. Gemma had set Brother up to be killed by [[War Pylol]], but Tachyon secretly saved him. In return, Brother shot Gemma after some encouragement from Tachyon.

After Gemma's death, OpAphid kidnapped Daniel and brainwashed him into posting [[Miss Me?|a video]] to encourage Bree to do the Ceremony. With Tachyon and Brother's assistance, Bree and Jonas were able to [[The Human Ransom|rescue Daniel]] from the Order. Tachyon then spent some time training Bree at an undisclosed location in the woods. After this Tachyon and Brother probably received a new assignment, and no longer interfered with Bree and her friends. OpAphid also disappeared for a while.

In [[Losing My Religion]], Bree for the first time talks (somewhat) openly about her religion. She says that her [[Bree's parents#Mother|mother]] was introduced to The Hymn of One by a university professor when she was studying at [[Scotland|Edinburgh]]. This religion turned out to be merely a front for the Order, or as Bree puts it, "the recruiting arm". Whatever the Order does, it executes quietly on the side. Bree has not yet expanded on the belief system touted by this "religion", but she does describe the effect it had on her mother. She mentions that her mother had been "looking for answers", and went through some big changes when she joined. According to Bree's father, she used to be introverted but became a "first to pick an argument" person after joining.

First note from [[Mr. Zipp]] was delivered by a carrier pigeon. [[Maddison Atkins |Maddison]] and [[Adam]] found the bird outside Maddison's door. The note was tied to the leg of the pigeon.
One side of the note said:

There was a message in the Morse code on the other side:

It translated to hex as:

Hex translated to text as:

"Tag bows" appeared to be anagram to "two bags".

It was unclear what this meant. However, [[Whiskey]], Maddison's dog, helped to figured it out. Whiskey chewed the note a little and then Maddison noticed that there was some message inside the note as well. So "two bags" were supposed to mean that a note was "double bagged" and had a message inside too.

In the video [[Jonas Sucks]] Daniel finds a package in their car. It includes a set of [[Nancy Drew's Guide to Life|Nancy Drew books]] and a note from [[Tachyon]]. From the start, Daniel suspects that this package contains some kind of clue to guide them in figuring out the password to the [[Bree's disk|encrypted disk]] Tachyon had left [[Bree]].

=Semiotics background=
Semiotics is the study of signs and symbols, both individually and grouped in sign systems. It includes the study of how meaning is constructed and understood. It can represent a methodology for the analysis of texts regardless of modality, which is the particular way in which the information is to be encoded for presentation to humans. For these purposes, "text" is any message preserved in a form whose existence is independent of both sender and receiver. Naming the file "semiotics" could signify that the password to the file already exists in what Tachyon sent Daniel. In this way, Daniel and Tachyon need know nothing about each other to be able to communicate what the password is.

When Daniel read the note aloud in [[Jonas Sucks]] he mentioned that it was a haiku. A haiku is a short poem consisting of three lines. It must have five syllables in the first line, seven syllables in the second line, and five in the third. Tachyon's note had five, seven, and ''six'' syllables respectively, so it was not actually a haiku. This proved to be significant when solving for the password of the file.

Another important feature of the note was the x's and y's written at the top and bottom of the message. On the top-left corner there were 11 x's, on the bottom-right 3 y's.

=The Books=
The package contained five books from the Nancy Drew series, including

The number of y's on the bottom-right of the note was 3, so the second part of the password was 3 characters long. 
Another "subtlety" in Tachyon's note led to the second part of the password. Daniel had incorrectly noted that it was composed like a haiku, with the numbers of syllables per line being 5,7,5, respectively. Her note actually had 5,7, and 6 syllables. These numbers, "'''576'''" were the second part of the password.

==How it plays out==
After seeing the files, the meaning of the second set of symbols is unknown. [[Tachyon]] posts a [[Dancing In The Dark|profile update]] that leads to another [[Dancing In The Dark|puzzle]]. The note obtained from that puzzle shows that Tachyon herself is not sure what these symbols mean. It appears that this is the information that she stole from the [[The Action of an Enemy - Be Careful|OpAphid information gathering facilities]] and that she is still trying to figure out what it means.
In [[How Dumb Am I?]], Bree discovers that there is some "artwork" in Jonas's cabin that looks like the Hybrid 3 (Theta+Pi) symbol. Not knowing exactly what the symbol means, she nevertheless links him to [[the Order]] and ties him up.

In the video [[Jonas Sucks]] Daniel finds a package in their car. It includes a set of [[Nancy Drew's Guide to Life|Nancy Drew books]] and a note from [[Tachyon]]. From the start, Daniel suspects that this package contains some kind of clue to guide them in figuring out the password to the [[Bree's disk|encrypted disk]] Tachyon had left [[Bree]].

=Semiotics background=
Semiotics is the study of signs and symbols, both individually and grouped in sign systems. It includes the study of how meaning is constructed and understood. It can represent a methodology for the analysis of texts regardless of modality, which is the particular way in which the information is to be encoded for presentation to humans. For these purposes, "text" is any message preserved in a form whose existence is independent of both sender and receiver. Naming the file "semiotics" could signify that the password to the file already exists in what Tachyon sent Daniel. In this way, Daniel and Tachyon need know nothing about each other to be able to communicate what the password is.

When Daniel read the note aloud in [[Jonas Sucks]] he mentioned that it was a haiku. A haiku is a short poem consisting of three lines. It must have five syllables in the first line, seven syllables in the second line, and five in the third. Tachyon's note had five, seven, and ''six'' syllables respectively, so it was not actually a haiku. This proved to be significant when solving for the password of the file.

Another important feature of the note was the x's and y's written at the top and bottom of the message. On the top-left corner there were 11 x's, on the bottom-right 3 y's.

Stratemeyer is an 11-letter word--11 was also the amount of x's in the upper-left corner of the note. The number of y's on the bottom-right of the note was 3, so the second part of the password was 3 characters long. 
Another "subtlety" in Tachyon's note led to the second part of the password. Daniel had incorrectly noted that it was composed like a haiku, with the numbers of syllables per line being 5,7,5, respectively. Her note actually had 5,7, and 6 syllables. These numbers, "'''576'''" were the second part of the password.

Did I ever tell you that as a child I always wanted to go to Disneyland? I would pester my parents, but they kept saying we couldn't travel that far "because of my sister's obligations." I hated her for that. I hated her so much. 

I bet you know what that's like--in fact, I know you do. It keeps you awake at night, that anger that you can't let go of...all because someone drilled into your head a sense of inferiority. 

It isn't that the other person is better than you. It's that the situation helps you convince yourself that they might be, and you’re deathly afraid that they are. 

Knowing what you dealt with awhile back really helped me put things in perspective. It helped me make peace with that part of my past, because I realized that my sister was never the enemy. There are other people to blame for creating that situation, but I also blame myself for not even trying to do anything about it except act like a spoiled brat. 

But your situation is different in many ways…it’s almost the opposite actually. Although from what you’ve told me, maturity was neither of your strong suits (so at least we have that in common). Still, I know that how it all played out left a really bad taste in your mouth that you’ll probably carry around for the rest of your adulthood (the same way I held onto mine to the point where it almost ruined what little childhood I could cling to). 

And yes, you can at least feel better about blaming yourself for the mess you got yourself into because a lot of it was actually your fault. (I may suck at sympathy, but writing it out really does wonders for my own issues LOL). 

However, there might be an opportunity for you to resolve some of these feelings that you are still carrying around, or at the very least maybe settle the score. I’ll tell you more about it in a few days, once I do a little more research, because I want to be absolutely sure--plus there's another pressing task at hand that needs to be dealt with, once and for all. 

I don’t want to ruin the surprise, and you shouldn’t get your hopes up yet, but I will tell you this much: We’re not going on vacation and no one is going to Disneyland, but if what I suspect turns out to be true, well...it damn well proves that it’s a small world after all.
