I have been consistently (for the last week or so) been getting threads marked as unread that are, in fact, read. anyone have any ideas?

I notice this happens from time to time. It was happening to me a couple weeks ago for about a week or two. It went away on it's own. I don't know how you can fix it... other then to mark the threads read on your own. Hopefully someone else has a suggestion.. I'd like to know for future reference if there is a way to fix it.

Even if you have read a thread, if there are new posts it will show as unread. If you read the new posts, it will go away.

This happens to me sometimes. I've found if you log out and close the browser then relaunch and log in again, it will mark pretty much everything read and function fine after that. I think it's a problem with cookies when you remain logged in all the time.

I have the opposite problem. There will be new posts in a topic but it will say that I have read it, when I haven't.
Should I do the same thing BK?

couldn't hurt to try. I wonder if cleaning out your cookies would do the same thing?

ok found this in the forum announcement section from the end of OCT 2006. Sounds like this is still the case, so thought I'd post it here as a little explanation of sorts.

The downside to this fix is that your read/unread post indicators may be all wacky now. To fix this, log out of the forums; delete your cookies (or just lonelygirl15.com cookies if you know how); and empty your browser's cache. This will reset your settings so that when you log back in everything should be fine.

This has started happening again for me, so I decided to bump this.

Every time I login all threads are marked as read... is that normal, because most other boards remember wich ones I actually read.
This results in only showing the threads that have been active since I logged in as being unread. It's annoyinh when I try to catch up after a day or so. I now leave my pc on and the forums logged in all the time to prevent missing stuff.
