Yeah that's right I'm talking to you.
What's stopping you?
It may not be as difficult as you think.

immortal1, you're going to hate me for saying this:
"Physician, heal thyself."

I'm not particularly interested in posting a video of me as a talking head on the internet, or even as a voice-over, so for me, the challenge is to find other ways to put together a story, either with video clips, still images, text, synthesized voice, animated characters, music, etc. It can be done, but is more labor intensive than just talking to a web-cam.
One idea I have not tried yet but could be fun, is to write a script and farm out the roles via the internet to volunteer actors to record their parts and send back to me for assembly/editing. I could see something like this being quite entertaining where there is a community like the one here. An added twist for participants would be to not give them the entire script ... only their lines ... so the final story would be surprising even for them.

I'd really love to develop on my character for HSAO, but sometimes I lack the time, and sometimes I just can't be satisfied with my ideas.

Chapter 2: 9 Episodes...In Development

I've been pretty impressed with the evolution of the fan vids. In the beginning there seemed to be a lot of powerpoint style vids with subtitles and lately there seems to be an improvement in the way that kind of vid is done. It's not my favorite because you can't really get great character development with that style. I think it might work better if there was a reason the vids were done that way such as a deep throat character whose identity had to remain a secret.

I think it's a great idea! Logistically it could be tough. I'd set up a YouTube account as a staging area. Give the volunteer internet actors the password and have them upload their parts set to private. I found some software that lets you download any YT, Google, etc vid which you can use to download the parts and edit. In fact that was going to be my next tip vid.

I would imagine that could get tricky. Unless you collaborate somehow you're kind of relegated to reacting to what goes on instead of being involved. That's what happens even with the lg15 fan vids, either you're a commenter or you spin off into your own story.

This is a great thread! I'm really happy to see it. Hmm what get's in my way
My equipment is limited. My camera needs repair because it destroys the tape on playback - I can capture but I can't play back I don't know how to get it repaired. No one in my area will touch it.
I need a new motherboard. I have limited memory, hard drive space. and no firewire.
That being said, I manage to limp along and get a few vids out. I plan on doing many more.
Personally, I'm not really into the storytelling, character building aspect. I'm more enjoy the art of it. My videos are more like moving art, or visual poems. And I'm enjoying getting into doing game recaps.
I'm glad you're going to be producing more videos, immortal1 - I'm still wondering what happened after you packed your badge and templar sword into your backpack and hit the road.

What's stopping you?
Lack of talent, ideas, imagination, time, all of those at once?
