i'm curious what others make of the odness in the video description. i know there are a few theories flying around out there, like the transmitter being injured, not dead, or the person transmitting being unaccustomed to typing, but it really feels like there might be more to this.

it does seem like several people think sho$-#.atch..r$ means shot watchers, which could mean that the guy was shot by a watcher...but it could also mean that a watcher was shot, or that now that this guy was shot the watchers would need to take over, or that watchers were needed or whatever.

i have been trying to decode it somehow, which is obviously not my cup of tea, but i wonder if anyone better at doing this has tried. being in code does beg the question of why the order would encode its own transmissions to itself....so i just don't know.

any theories?

edit to add; the text is:

Target acquire@#dlks..dskjl sho$-#.atch..r$#@!......d....s..............

all I made out of it was "shot watchers", I think the reason why it was spelled all weird is well... if you were shot could you type right? lol

I'm quoting myself here, but I just posted this in the "The last 3" thread:
chershaytoute wrote:Think dial-up... In ancient times, when modems were hooked up to phone lines, transmissions could often have odd ASCII characters come through... My first thought on seeing this was that they'd had break-up happen during transmission - possibly due to all of the action happening at the time.

Yes, I know we're seeing cut-away shots and all... Suspension of disbelief is key at this point, methinks... :D
I don't think we're looking at code here...but I do think you can figure on the words "acquired," "shot," and either "watcher" or "watchers" - I'm betting on the singular...

'd' 'l' 'k' 'j' and 's' are all letters in the home row of the kb. If someone was putting in random typing (not saying that's what this is), then those are some of the more likely letters to use.

I would say that the sent message was garbled by loss of signal. Hence the "communication terminated" title.

I liked the theory that someone posted in the vid comments. That it's not a watcher with the camera. It's Daniel with the camera he found, and he found Bree, and got shot (or maybe just the camera)

This may not make sense/match up with other things we know, but I still like it. It still may be a possibility.

I just posted my theory in the video thread about the camera. I think its hidden in the sunglasses. My post over there goes into more detail.

another thing- maybe the typer was facing resistance when he/she wrote it. i know (and this is a random 6th grade flashback moment for me) when i had friends over and they wanted to IM something embarassing to someone, i would stop them by reaching over the keyboard and just banging on the letters. maybe that's what happened? or the typer was about to pass out... it starts out coherent and gets sloppier, which would indicate some kind of deteriorating condition.....?

lets say the "uploader" is using a slandered windows PC, to get the #$! and what not you need to hold down shift, yes theres other ways to do it but i doubt they would have them activated

so is it a code? was s(he) about to faint? was there someone else there?

I tried Morse Code with the dots and slashes but I only got ITEIH which I think leads to nothing. Sorry. I am trying. ](*,)
