Instead of threatening the poor door with screwdrivers (and maiming yourself), you should be gentle with it. Spend some quality time with the door, talk to it, sit down to a candle lit dinner with it, tell the door how special it is, and maybe it'll be a little more open to unlocking...
or you could always just take your shirt off and see if that works.

Or you could just take the door off of the hinges with that screwdriver you have. Or screw the doorkob off.

The pins are usually only on the other side of the door. As for screwing the doorknob off, even though they are usually on the side of the door he was working with, they must not have been on this particular door. Perhaps the aunt wanted to try and make doubley sure that room was hard to get into?
I think the dinner idea is an excellent suggestion. Or maybe the door just needs a good lube job (I know, smack me, lol).
