can someone tell me how to upload a picture? It asks for a url address? what do I type in? and is an avetar a picture? apparently I'm computer illiterate, I thought I knew how to do this but I guess I don't.

You need to use the url from a site where you have uploaded pictures, like PhotoBucket.
