Tachyon's Note

This is the note from Tachyon from the file she left for Bree:
The Theta is similar to an Egyptian symbol that represents the Sun, and the Mu was derived from the Egyptian hieroglyphic symbol for water. So the Sun equals Ra...and the water equals Naunet? Or maybe Poseidon? When combined this "watcher" symbol establishes that the Order rules and watches over all that exists in between.

Theta is the 8th letter, Mu is the 12th. So that's one more 12, but the 8 = ?.

Theta was also used as an abbreviation for "Thanatos," and considered a warning of death.
Theta: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theta
Mu: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mu_%28letter%29
Thanatos: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thanatos

So the Theta is the eye and the Mu is the lines of the OpAphid Watcher Eye. The Theta is also a short form for Thanatos, the ancient symbol of death.

Ra: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ra
Naunet: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naunet
Nut: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nut_%28goddess%29

I found this interesting about Ra:
The sun was thought to travel in a boat, to protect its fires from the primordial waters (Nun) of the underworld it passed through during the night. Ra traveled in the sunboat with various gods, including Ma'at who guided the boat's course and Set and Mehen who defended against monsters in the underworld. These monsters included Apep, the serpent who tried to stop the sunboat's journey every day by consuming it. So, the Egyptians saw the sunrise as the rebirth of the sun through Nut, the sky, and thus attributed the concept of rebirth and renewal to Ra, strengthening his role as a creator god.
Nun is another name for Naunet, and Nut was referenced in the first Gemma video.

Any thoughts on this?

If the Watcher symbol can be connected to the warning for death, this would indicate that the Watchers are indeed a malicious presence. However, maybe they're more of an omen that the Order is coming and not a threat in and of themselves?

If the Order wasn't the threat, would that mean the Watchers are?

SapereAudio may have worded that a little funny, but they were suggesting that the Watchers aren't a threat in and of themselves; instead, that they're a sign the real threat (the rest of the Order; OpAPHID, perhaps) are coming.

Thanks for cleaning up my word salad Lurker! You hit my point perfectly.

So then they are similar to a Banshee?

A little quieter, maybe.

That would explain why the Watchers seem to want to be seen (and Gemma kept pointing them out).

All they amount to, IMO, is pressure and scare tactics. However, there is always the possibility that they could be ordered to do something more.

Doesn't the name "Watchers" imply that that is all they do? I mean, that one Watcher let Jonas rail at him and did nothing. Of course, I'm sure if OpAphid ordered them to be more active they would. Or, (crazy theory time) there may be another group, who are not Watchers, but Doers (or some such thing) that get called in once OpAphid decides that enough watching has taken place....

Anyway, I really don't understand Tachyon's note. I'm not clever enough to figure out all her codes. But please let this be the beginning of some action. After the Daniel rescue vid I can't really take too many moany, teenage vids!

I think the watchers are just there to let them know the order knows where they are and what they are doing, and also used to scare them

For those who might be wondering... we have been talking about maybe there are four sects to the order, depicted in one of the photos. Talking here:
