Jonas, Daniel has been hypnotised, I'm certain of it. His mention of spin art in the video "Miss Me", is a dead-give away. Please see my post under Plot Discussion regarding this.
I don't know what you can do to deprogram Daniel, but until you do, you must keep an eye on him. It's up to you to protect Bree now.
By the way, I haven't written Bree about this because I don't think she'd want to hear or accept it.
Ask Tachyon how to handle this, if you can. She probably has some experience with it.
