Yes, I remember this horrible murder.
Unfortunately, on January 8, 2001, both of them were granted anonymity for the rest of their lives plus an injunction barring any publicity about them. The young men were both released in June 2001, when they were 18 yrs old, after serving the minimum sentence of 8 years.

I immediately looked into this. It seems that the murders really happened with some variations. Also this case has been delt with and offically closed, I am afraid adding your name to an e petition may not help.

However I was truely shocked to hear that such a murder and many of the details has actually occured.
I encourage to look at these articles but as Lester suggested be prepared for grusome content.

man it's heartbreaking to click on that link like you said, it was horrible hearing about it, but to associate pics and see them is entirely heartbreaking...
I guess since it's been closed for over 5 years now, the only thing left is to leave it in higher hands

If I don't remember wrong, James was two when he got killed. There has also been some kinda press realese where they said that there were no batteries. That was a romor made by the media.
I'm not signing... It's terrible that James Burgler lost his life, let's not take two more

I think I'm gunna delete this thread, it's a bit painful to keep coming back to it...
I like coming to the boards to forget the horrors of the outside world and this is just a lil bit too much of a reality check for me
it's too painful to keep seeing... I'll keep it up till I till I leave from work today tho, so no one thinks the admins/mods are censoring it and everyone understands that I took it down myself

It's defently not you. I remember the on the news people stated that they would kill Thompson and Venables if they had the chanse.
But I am still against locking them up for life

I remember this, it was horrific. It's amazing to me that they let those two out of prison after only 8 years.
Then again, there are people all over the world that get a slap on the wrist for killing children. I'm not sure why this is so surprising.

The killers parents?
After the arrest I remember them being treathend, and having people vandalise their houses, so they moved pretty fast.
One of the boys where being abused by older brothers, and their parents didn't do anything about it
