Yale barbershop singers recovering after ambush

Wed Jan 10, 11:30 AM ET

Members of a close-harmony group from Yale University are recovering after being ambushed and beaten up while on tour in California.

Members of the a cappella Baker's Dozen were performing at a party in San Francisco at the new year when their rendition of the "Star Spangled Banner" apparently sparked taunts and threats from fellow partygoers.

As the group left the house, they were attacked by dozens of assailants, suffering scrapes, black eyes and concussions, said Connecticut's News Channel 8.

"Besides any bruising or scrapes to the face, the main injury I suffered was I broke my jaw in two places," one of the singers, 18-year-old Sharyar Aziz, was quoted as saying.

I do find that somewhat funny, but moreso... I find it very disturbing... These guys were just trying to have fun and sing out there and just because these others don't like the way the singers looked or sounded, they start a fight with them???

There's a certain poetic justice in a barbershop quartet singer getting his jaw broken.

I agree lol...then again...I have a sadistic sense of humour...I laugh at the titles in this video: http://thatvideosite.com/video/2831 It says

"Ce jour-là, il roulait beaucoup trop vite."

Which means: "Today, he drove way too fast"

Then the next one reads:

"Et lui roulait just un peu trop vite."

Which means: "And he went just a little too fast."

the irony makes me crack up!
