So did my hubby, but he quit for Christmas. Actually, he's in the process of quitting. He's using a prescription pill. Is your BF interested in quitting?

My hubby used to smoke at least a pack a day. Usually 2. He's on Chantix, which is a new prescription pill to help people quit smoking. You take it for 12 weeks. Have him ask his doctor about it. Jay started taking the pill (ha! sounds like birth control  ) two weeks ago and officially quit smoking on Monday and he hasn't had a ciggy since. You take the pill for a week before you quit. He's doing really well. Says the hardest part is the drive to work (an hour) but that Twizzlers and toothpicks help with the oral issues.

My wife has an allergy to cigarrette smoke. Not asthma, but allergies. So, when we started dating, I quit cold-turkey. I had motivation, 'cause she promised to give me something better to do with my mouth ;) It actually wasn't difficult. I just sat the smokes down and told myself "No more." And no more it was. Not saying that it wasn't temporary bipolar disorder for awhile there ... But if I can do it, with my incredible lack of willpower, then anyone can :)

My ex boyfriend used to give me my asthma. But that was a total different reason. He liked to makeout under the covers and its already stuffy under there so making out is like exhausting under the covers for me. =/ lol.

I actually used chantix to quit also..............it works great...............I was smoking like 1.5 to 2 pks per day...............I havent had a smoke for like 2 months..............

Also I did the tooth pick thingy for about ..... a month......I didnt quit cold turkey after a week I went down to like 8 a day and just had like one less a day for the rest of a week or two. after I quit I didnt even need to take the other 2 months doses....... and thats good cause with my insurance I have to pay for prescriptions full price then I get reimbursed and 100 bucks a month kinda sucks................

my wife used it also but it caused her to have terrible acid reflux and she had to stop ....but she had already quit and so she just didnt have any more

the worst part of quitting is the mental part for me .......chantix actually blocks the neuro receptors of the brain that receive nicotine ... it actually made me smoke more at first but that was just cause my brain kept saying "you need to smoke" even right after I had a cig...............

wow sorry for the spazy post .... I just quit and am super pumped about it(most of the time) and CHANTIX was my wonder pill

Which makes no bloody sense. They were the ones that got people hooked in the first place and now they want to charge you up the ass for them. They're worse than drug dealers passing out free samples of crack to school kids.
