the phone calls represent the vids, the first vid the creators (bree) went along, but the second time they stopped it because ciw went too far with the pics of the murders, so they cut off all links with her

I see your point, 'mute. A lot of us were really into CiW. Personally, I didn't see it as an affront but rather something of an homage, but maybe I'm seeing what I want to see... hard to say what was intended. It was still interesting to see the links, though! I hope there was nothing intended to cause offense...

I think a little more thought needed to go into it is all. At any rate, my post here was a nod to Luv2Skydive as much as it was to the Creators.
