People of Color (was Racist)

Where are all the people of color? The only one I've seen is Homeless Watcher. He did a wonderful job and he has done so much for his community by agreeing to appear in your videos. I'm sure he didn't receive a fee either. I hope we start seeing some people of color.

I have to say, as a person with a multiracial background, I can't see people of color getting involved in this story. We have enough to worry about without secret watchers or suspicious orders. Besides, I know I would never take any orders from some scrawny blond Lucy-like helper. Walking in a field to prepare for some secret ceremony? No, no, no. Getting shots and not questioning why? No, no, no. Having people snatch my parents? No, no, no. Puppet-talking? Again, no. (And I don't speak for all people of color, just me.) I know, with my lovely sable complexion, if I broke into and apartment and posted it on the Internet, or better yet, if my younger brother posted his B&E excursion on the Internet, his next videoblog would be live from the Southern California Adult Correctional Facility. (Besides, one cannot shave his nuts in prison. I don't think razor blades are allowed. I am not a man, but I'm just sayin'. Some people of color -not all, but some- abhor shave nuts.)

Plus, people of color tend to be the first ones killed in any horror-like situations (except for muther****ing Snakes on a Plane). Why put an actor through that?

I wasn't aware that the homeless man was a person of color. He did seem to have my enviable golden complexion, but I wrote it off on filth and grime from the cold, hard, mean, filthy and grimy streets. Not racial phenotype.

I do think the cat was a cat of color, though. This is a plus.

Yours in the struggle,
gogo

UGHH. I despise political correctness- there are only 5 characters people! If you can even class Lucy a character... why does everything have to look like a cornucopia of races, creeds, etc.? I'm not trying to sound like I'm not all for racial harmony or anything, but frankly when I see the (very few) shows which make sure to have someone of every conceivable race they can find as characters... well it just seems forced. This is a weblog, they have no responsibility to go out there and hire "people of color" just because it's the "diverse" thing to do. Besides, Yousef is Arab, well self-described "whitest Arab you'll ever see but still an Arab. Arabs are far more underrepresented in American television than blacks, Hispanics, almost anyone.

Perhaps everyone would be happy if the project had a white girl, a black guy, an Asian computer expert, a gay, a Columbian drug baron, an Irish barman and a British butler?
Oh wait, that leave out the native Americans, fat people, single mothers, Bolivian cyclists, Australian surfers, French waiters, Scottish Pipers, German factory workers, Rastafarian's the whole of Belgium.
But then I feel the plot would be a little limited if all of these groups were included.

Exactly. You "colored" Americans could make your own vids. Then there would be "colored" people.

Yes! And they could all drive around in a van solving mysteries. That would be jr. high cool.

Obviously xeniph didn't read my post (the second one). I have a feeling that she likes saying colored.

I can't believe people are responding seriously to this thread. And with such angry undertones. I thought my response to the original post and glowe's response to that with more diverse cats would end this. I guess people look for places to get out their anger. I can't believe people are actually getting riled up about this.

What am I, See-through? Invisible? I'm very tan in the summer, does that count me as a person of "color"??

That's it...I wanna see more invisible people. OR are they already in the vids???

LIGHTEN UP *no pun intended*

LTSD, invisible people have been promenently featured in several videos. I can't believe you didn't notice.

Invisible people need to be driving around in vans solving mysteries.

That's just me, though. I thought mutha****in' Snakes on a Plane needed more racially divrse cats and more invisible people.
