Why is everyone expecting something to happen on 12/10?
It was clear, as they are Americans, they were referring to Oct. 12, and indeed the ceremony (real or fake) happened on that day. That's what they were preparing us for. Nothing special will happen today, Bree had no way of forseeing this that's for sure, let alone drop a hint it would be happening months ago.
