IRC Chat Protocol

As many of you know, I am an operator in the IRC chat #operationaphid. It has been brought to my attention that the chat has recently been troubled with people coming in and pretending to be characters from OpA, LG15, CiW, etc. Although our chat room attempts to be as flexible as possible, and harmless moments of fun and impersonation are not prohibited, it has gotten to the point where I am being asked by many regulars in the chat room to crack down on this behavior.

Therefore, please be aware: impersonation of LG15, OpA, or CiW characters within the chat without first identifying yourself clearly as an impersonator will result in you being excluded from the chat. Repeated violation of any of the chat rules will result in you being banned from the chat.

Obviously the chat ops would rather not start banning people. Please respect the chat rules so that we can all have a fun time.

Note: we have also added another chat op in order to make sure a chat op is in the chat for more time every day. Please welcome shifty_J to the ranks!

I can not express in words the depth of disgust I feel for the link posted as the chatroom topic tonite.

For personal reasons... yes. But also for being someone with a heart.

It was repulsive, and so very cruel.

Children are innocent, and as such are OFF LIMITS for ridicule of that nature.
A PHYSICALLY DISABLED CHILD NO LESS!!!

There is absolutely NO justification for it.

Whoever is responsible should be ashamed of themselves.

Our apologies to Sphinx and anyone else who was offended. That link was clearly a violation of Rule 2. The topic has been changed.

Thank you Tilting.

I apologize for posting a gut reaction.

Gotta be tough to be online.
