home prices

what do you guys think of the recent boom and bust with home prices? how bad has it affected your guys area? Ive seen some crappy homes
in crappy neighborhoods spike up two times in value about a year or so ago...

I live in the city with the second most expensive housing in Canada. It sucks being a university student here.....

In general, prices have leveled off and/or dropped almost everywhere from what I understand (with exceptions, obviously).Business is way slower in both the real estate and title insurance businesses in Florida. This I know. From what I understand, it's the same on the west coast. Mortgage brokers are surely doing well though...since everyone who lost their ass has had to take out second, third, etc. mortgages on their homes.
