Assignment 1

The founders of the "Enochian Magic System" were John Dee and Edward Kelley. Both lived in the 16th Century. Both were originally well respected men who fell to ill repute, due to their interest in magic. John Dee was dedicated to the Church of England. John Dee was a noted Welsh mathematician, consultant to Elizabeth I. He founded the greatest library in England.

When John Dee and Edward Kelley met, they began to live a nomadic lifestyle, practicing magic together. Both were regularly imprisoned, accused of being "charlatans." John Dee impressed Edward Kelley with his "Enochian Keys," which were "calls" or entrances into the magical or spirit world. Enochian magic is considered a powerful magic, dangerous if practiced improperly. It is also considered "white magic," although later Anton LaVey (founder of the Satanic church,) corrupted the keys by producing dark representations of them.

John Dee has an unearned reputation for being evil, due to Anton LaVey. It's interesting that the creators of the Blair Witch Project named the witch "Elly Kedward," which is a "spoonerism" or letter mix-up of Edward Kelly's name.

The "Book of Enoch," is considered to be a secret book of the Bible, written by Noah's son. It contains the "Book of the Watchers."

Here are a few Enochian words that may be fun for students to know:

AG- No
BAGLE- Why or Because
Ooaona- Eyes
Ooe- Ecstacy
Zirdo- I am

Next week's course will focus on learning the Enochian keys.

Our class is still open to new students and we also need another teacher.

-Ms. Denderah Divine

Ms. D: It's OK, Kari. We'll focus next week on the pronuciation of these words and how to use them in magic ritual. For instance, Bagle is pronounced, "Bahg-Lay."

OOC~ I thought we needed a separate assignment section, so the assignments wouldn't get lost with everything else. Also, required reading passages will go here.

Move therefore and show your selves, open the mysteries of your Creation, be friendly unto me; for I am the servant of the same your God, the true worshipper of the Highest.

Just for Fun:

Try to write your name in Enochian:

Image

**Extra Credit!**

Notes: C/K are the same. I'll research what happened to "J"! I'd also like to cut each letter into tiles that we can use to write in Enochian in this forum. I'm still looking for an easy way to do that.

I just found a freeware version of an Enochian translator that is a FREE download:

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Others/Hom ... hian.shtml

It's called, "Ultimate Enochian."

I'm still playing with mine!

there is no J in the enochian alphabet, it's used I instead, for example, JO, would be IO.

Hey, thanks IO!

We're ALL learning as we go along.. I've run into a snag using my translator though. I wonder if other people will be able to use it OK.

It's not for everyone. Besides, we'll be moving on to a different subject next week anyway. We'll be studying ancient Egypt.
