it's the equivalent of the Dutch phrase:

Hoe gaat het?

i like how when he lists things in order he goes from "first" to "b" to "second" to "d". also its cool how since he has green eyes that had to make everything else in the place green too

yes I got that

but I was talking about the actual use of words

I never heard of the saying before

I have heard What´s up and word up

but not like this

but apparently it's something American

but just very local then I guess because usually it would have ended up on screen somewhere before

or it's new

What up is a very New York phrase. I, and a lot of people I know, say it all the time. It does seem a little out of place to see a SoCal scientist say it (and I'm not saying I actually believe this guy is a scientist).

"What up" definition from Urban Dictionary.

One of my favorite albums from the early 90s was "What Up, Dog" by Was (Not Was) (who were originally from Detroit.)

You're welcome!

I'm having a bad late-80s/early 90s flashback--I just put "Walk the Dinosaur" (WNW's biggest hit) on my MySpace 8)

The mid 90's were much better imho. You can't beat bands like Garbage, Blind Melon, Sponge, Spacehog, and Veruca Salt.
