Hey everyone,

I just wanted to inform you all that The Hymn of One Seminar is only for people that are 18 and older, or, if you are under 18, you must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. I am sorry if this inconveniences anyone.

Thank you for your understanding,

Greg

Wise decision there, guys. I figured there'd be an announcement to this effect.

Hope it doesn't make problems for anyone, though, and that everybody who goes has fun. And also brings back lots of details of what goes down.

Indeed, a wise decision. It comes at almost the last possible moment, even though the issue was raised as soon as the e-mails were leaked.

Hopefully e-mails are also being sent out to those who were invited. The Hymn of One website should also post this information as well.

:ahem: perhaps, um, the HoO could, :ahem: film the Seminar?
Oh, for training purposes only, of course! ;-)

"We're okay with kidnapping minors, but we have concerns about inviting them of their own volition."

Sorry, had to.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. If you want to know, have them PM you. Most of us don't want to know.

I think restricting it to PMs would be going too far, but Juli does bring up a good point that I hadn't considered at the time of my requesting the details be shared. Perhaps it would be best if those who attend the seminar were asked to keep the specifics in their own clearly-marked thread to prevent spoiling things for those who would rather wait to see the video?

I know not everyone on here is going to want to know the details as soon as possible, and would prefer to wait for their official presentation. I think having a special thread for this would be the best way to ensure fairness for those who do want to wait and those like me who don't want to.

?????? Not at all. Why do you get that impression?
If anything, I'm more concerned with not enough people showing up on a weekday at noon.

Actually my parental senses were tingling pretty bad up until the post confirming 18 or with a parent or guardian.

I have complete faith in the creators intentions and capabilities in making this a friendly and fun gathering.

My concern was always around parents picking up on this after minors had decided to go without letting them in on it.

All it would take would be one parent who would not have approved, having their kid(s) disobey or get caught skipping school to attend and it really would be a mess for the creators to deal with.

Worse yet some Internet predator picking up on a gathering of unaccompanied youth.

I feel much better about things now and I am happy the creators have gone as far as to include minors if they have parental/guardian attendance.

If my son or daughter got an invite I would definitely have gone with them as the experience would be well worth missing a single day of classes for them.

Kudos to the creators for stepping up and tightening up the safety around this event.

Have fun everyone but still be safe.

I want to heap praises all over The Creators for keeping tabs on our reactions on the forums and on posts by kids talking about receiving invites - some as young as 15...14...and even 12. Way to go, you guys - it's great to know that you not only give good vid, but are that involved with the community here!

And on those tsunamis, impulse... We'll try to keep them up here in the Pacific Northwest. The warning system where I live has been praised nationwide, and we even have these really cool signs posted all over on the coast highway...
