A completely minor gripe

This may sound like a silly thing to complain about, but . . .

When I mark "all posts read" for a particular section of the forum, I get taken back to the very same section. That doesn't make any sense, since marking "all posts read" means (for me, anyway) that I'm not interested in reading any more of the currently-active threads in that section. Could the software be tweaked so that after all posts in a section are marked read, we get taken back to the main forum index? Thanks in advance.

While we're on the subject of forum bugs, may I point out that the "new post" indicator doesn't work properly? When I look for new posts, I have to pay attention to the last posted date, as the new post icon will--as often as not--not be shown. I've missed quite a bit of postings because of this.

With the new post icon, sometimes I have to try and reply to something and then it'll take me back to the front page when only then the icons will activate.

:S.

Could it be done? Probably. It's not something I could control from the forum administration options. If the webmaster had free time, he could probably play with the php code to change that!

Yeah, it's very touchy. Sometimes it won't mark threads as NOT being unread until I close out of my browser. Sometimes I switch computers and all the forums are marked as no unread posts. It has something to do with cookies and the computer's security options, I think. I usually just pay attention to last updated date on the particular forum.

Oh, grump grump whiney whine whine! But it's so hard to SEE the dates! Whiney whine. (I flounce on over to a corner and plop down on a footstool, crossing my arms and scowling deeply.) 's no fair! Harumph!

Okay, I understand that it's probably not at the top of his priority list. Thanks, BK.
