I have a feeling that Bree is Cathar or at least and offshoot of this religion.

Catharism was a religious movement with dualist Christian and Gnostic elements that appeared in the Languedoc in the eleventh century and flourished in the 12th century. It was condemned by the contemporary Roman Catholic Church either as a heretical Christian sect or sometimes as a non-Christian religion.

The name Cathar most likely originated from Greek καθαροί, "pure ones"

The religion is tied to the holy grail and the Knights templar who were believed to worship the devil.

I Think Alister Crowley referenced Cathar and the Knights Templar in his religion. I believe He took elements of pre-existing belief systems such a Theosophy and the Order Of The Golden Dawn and the Knights Templar.

Interesting religion, but I don't think it fits because A) Bree and her parents have way too many material posessions B) Bree's parents procreated and had her and C) Bree has said her religion is NOT Christian

But I did enjoy reading about the Cathars, they have a very interesting take on Christianity.

Perhaps her actual religion is A) not really relevant or B) not even real.

True, a lot of things in Breeland have been set in "reality" but perhaps this is some new "unknown sect" to add a bit of mystery, a touch of the uncharted. I mean, that's what fear is all about, no?

Also, and this is only a theory, I'd like to ask if the P-Monkey Press Conference was actually confirmed to be by THE CREATORS...

If so, the name they posted under (lonesomeoctober) could be a reference to "A Night in the Lonesome October" by Roger Zelazny.

This was inspired by Lovecraft, and even dedicated to him (amongst other horror writers).

It has no religion in it per se, but has elements that Crowley liked (old ones, elder gods, certain rituals & languages).

The plot has "openers" who try to unleash the elder gods/old ones and "closers" who try to keep the world as it is. The two side collide only once "in a long while".

I say, if that press conference is confirmed, that Bree is a "closer" and is acting as an assistant in this ceremony. Save us all, Bree.

The press conference was much discussed but I don't believe we ever concluded whether it was definitely the creators or not.

But....

In the LonelyGirlLand of denials (The viral ad denial, the Cassieiswatching denial, etc.) the fact that the Press Conference wasn't officially denied makes it sort of, I guess, plausible.

I didn't mean it was denied, etc. I meant that through all the sleuthing of the people here posting...it couldn't be confirmed.

Lonesomeoctober just put out 2 videos today. The first was Purple Monkey claiming he was hanging it up fo r good and disavowing any link to the actual lonely girl crew.

The second..the man behind the HAND up purple monkey's ass actually shows up on cam in a totally unrelated video to tell us about his trip to stay in the former home of a multiple axe murder.

I say just because someone says they have absolutely nothing to do with an ARG does not mean this is the truth.
