I think it was one before that that hit florida.... I don't really remember but I'm pretty sure Katrina didn't really affect my city.... My brother's house was destroyed for Katrina though... luckily he evacuated in time....

We have never had a hurricane/troppical storm hit us that badly here. Except for the one that tore down my trampoline :/. That one took down about 4 trees in our yard.... and after it was over when you looked outside the back sliding glass window, all you could see was like bushy tree stuff....

We worked for days getting that cleaned up.... other than that though the storms are kinda interesting to sit through if they don't reach hurricane status *_*

I'm glad your brother made it out of there in time.

You're a lot braver than I am; I've been in mild hurricanes compared to what you get in your neck of the woods, and they terrified the wits out of me... I was little, lol, and I remember waiting for the whole house to blow away with me in it.. to this day, severe storms with heavy winds make me nervous!

Jo - you HAVE to be the fastest eater of anyone I've ever seen!!

Is your dinner like 3 bites, a gulp and that's it?!

Heh yeah I use to be terrified... and when they are really bad I still do get that way....

But you start to get use to them in florida lol some years it seems like one storm after another during "hurricane season"

When the powers out and there is not much to do, its nice to sit outside and watch the sky light up and nature doing its thing all around you.... at least next to the door under the saftey of a porch of course :p

i think i wouldnt freak in a hurricane, i mean, i would be mad about the destruction but, it's really rare that i freak, i mean, i've already been in a house in flames and i didnt freaked (i was surprised with myself)...actually, i left the house, entered, and left again :P

That would make me nuts.. simply because I would have to stop myself from being scared. Both my beagles are EXTREMELY sound-sensitive. My boy beagle, Jack, is too smart.. when our lights flicker, he knows what's coming and is on my lap, shaking.. my little female, Remy, tucks herself under my legs in a little ball and shivers. I HAVE to relax in order to get them to calm down!

Aww poor animals... my dogy barks at the thunder... I think that she thinks its another dog barking or something.

Well, when you start to realize that you cant evacuate in the middle of the storm.... and if your house goes down your going to most likely not make it.... You just relax and enjoy the show. lol... I was a little depressed that year anyway so i was kidna like whatevah storm you can't hurt me! kinda stupid I know :/

woo pretty dragon!!! That looks alot like the one in this puzzle that me and my b.f. are putting together :D

No, not stupid at all, I don't think.. actually, a lot of common sense.. why stress over something you can't change? Seems like you handled it all really wisely.

lol :P it was more survival instinct, when i saw that a friend of mine was still inside, i ran back in to get him out... and only then the firemen arrived <.< though the oxygen masks were useful...smoke isnt really my thing xD
i dont mean that i wasnt scared, i was scared like hell, but i knew that i couldnt freak out, or else i would probably screw the all thing (my other two friends kinda frozed :S)
i really care about my friends (or something more), and i'm able to do things that might kill me to "save" them :)
