Thanks for the correction Blah

There is some text that isn't in the first post above the second paragraph to the right on the front of the index card...
Try to sharpen it with photoshop or something (which i have tried and failed to do)
It's definitely too blurry to do anything with. It may be nothing helpful, but it wouldn't hurt just to find out what it is. If nothing else, it could eliminate another option. Just keep narrowing the field of possibilities.

Due to popular demand

and cause i'm so awesome I have put the text over the picture
The red circles represent text i can't identify. In the process of doing this i noticed another block of text i couldn't identify...
Its a little blurry but better if u click on it
Edit: The bottom center red circle is my mistake and has been identified as 870623 ZG / ZG with the right side block being 870622 NjP A* 87-b28379 86-26421

the circle next to the hole is a repeat of this:
ZG /ZG A* 87-B28379
Written with the numbers on top, and the ZG/ZG
under it. That's probably why he didn't type it out cuz it was the same info (or it could have been my mistake when I was copying it all from him)

Thanks, SK, but what about the text above
"Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry in"
the short line on the right hand side between the first and second paragraphs?

that I can't tell, it looks like something by (but it's too fuzzy) I went threw the chat log where he typed everything to me, and didn't catch anything. I can't ask him right now, he's in fire school, wont be done till like 11, and then he'll probably go to the frat house, which means he wont have the card. So it probably wont be till tomorrow till I can ask him, and find out. Sorry guys.
I'm trying to get him to just scan it (but he forgot last time he went to work) lol.

I apologize for busting into your discussion of clues, but I just wanted to say that the Facility J videos and game are quite interesting and cool even to someone who has no talent for solving things (and that would be me). It's cool that folks are so engaged. (It's also nice to have drops for East Coasters.) Enjoy!

Thanks for keeping us informed. It will probably end up being nothing, like everything else we've tried so far, but thanks for looking into it. Gotta keep checking all the possibilities until we solve it.

OK, another dead end... Using the sequence of octal numbers from before (taking A=1) we have:
04.11.14.21.25.31.41
If we're going to get an ASCII string out of this by reordering, the only way I can imagine this happening is if we re-order it to be:
41.1x.x1.xx.1x.x1.xx
and then we plug in the possible values for the xxs and get more gibberish:
!JDcU
!JUcD
!KDbU
!KUbD
!bDJU
!bUDJ
!cDJU
!cUJD
Hurumph. If we could get vCJD (aka mad cow disease) I'd be happy, but we don't so there you go.

Sequence is obviously an important word.
Base as well.
The results may not be familiar to us? Results of what?

Base sequence: The order of nucleotide bases in a DNA molecule; determines structure of proteins encoded by that DNA.

So just for the heck of it, and for lack of anything better to do, I ran each individual word through the viginere decipher using eight and ikyoiyk as the key. Here is the results:
Using IKYOIYK as the key:
Library card as text:
of = gv
tokyo = lemkg
of = gv
union=mdkaf
of = gv
pure = hktq
and = sdf
in = ad
of = gv
and = sdf
union = mdkaf
of = gv
pure = hktq
and = sdf
kagakkai = cqimcmqa
Walter's note as text:
you = qew
know = cdqi
to = le
do = ve
now = fey
i = a
is = ai
i = a
told = lenp
you = qew
you = qew
are = shg
is = ai
Using EIGHT as the key:
Library card as text:
conference = yghylnwhvl
tokyo = pgerv
in = ef
with = sana
kagakkai = gsatrgsc
Walter's note as text:
know = gfip
to = pg
i = e
it = el
is = ek
to = pg
tell = pwfe
is = ek
I omitted words that did not produce amino acid abreviations - at least I think I did
