I visited Satan's Kingdom a couple times as a kid when visiting my grandparents in Connecticut. Did some innertubing there.

The name comes from early Colonial days, when the area was wilderness, and the Puritan settlers thought of the unexplored woods as the habitation of Godless heathen Indians, monsters, demons, whatever. Truly Satan's Kingdom to them.

Now it's just a nice place to get a tan.

Yessir. We just happened to stumble on it when we were doing a road trip one spring break (I'm a fan of just getting in the car and going whereever you want!)
It's actually right off of Beaver Highway or something like that, and is surrounded by plenty of "Lick" towns (named after salt licks of course) Though wee saw somewhere on the map a Sugartit

And I've been to Satan's Kingdom myself, but as a kid so I don't really remember it.
