Since this thread is kind of on hiatus from any thought right now, I thought I'd say:

This video showed us pics of Daniel shooting film (4 pics on the filmstrip part of the screen, but we only got to see 3), before the ceremony.

Does this mean they wanted him to see the first part of the ceremony, and then chase him off? Whoever took the pics of Daniel had to realize he was still around during the ceremony, right?

Book of Revelation

Rev 8-10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;

Rev 8:11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

Absinthe is the french name for wormwood!!!!!!!

But I don't know what that means..... :?
You make absinthe from wormwood, too, but I am not sure how much significance that has to the plot.....

and he did kinda get chased off... maybe they let him stay just long enough to seem to substantiate Bree's claim that nothing earth-shaking happened, then chased him off before the interesting absinthe and bloodletting and impregnation portion.

but then that would be assuming that Daniel went to the actual ceremony, and a lotta people are theorizing that that ceremony was just a fake put on for either Bree, Daniel, or both. i guess it could also just be the evidence for Lucy that that particular mission was accomplished.

interesting...

I dunno! But the link between Chartreuse (tag for one of the video) and Absinthe is Wormwood. And the camera stopping a brief instant on the poster in the last video was obviously intentional. So...just digging around....

o BTW to get OT just a bit again, today my roommate, who has called me a weirdo (in a good way) numerous times for my obsessing over this show actually had a whole discussion with me about the possible fates of Bree and Daniel after i showed her the last 3 vids. so WE'RE NOT CRAZY, PEOPLE! this stuff really is (kinda) riveting!

Whew! I feel better! :)

Back on topic: I'm of the camp that the date thing on the computer was a mistake. We know they're filming these things in advance, probably several at a time. I think he got his picture taken when he got to the ranch (while it was still light), and quite possibly later. We did, after all, have a screenshot of a guy who looked like he had a camera. I think the ceremony was real... the question is, what happened?

I think we're going to deal with the aftermath... maybe Bree impregnated (doubt it), brainwashed/drugged (more likely), or even just becoming a more important figure in the religion and learning more ooogy stuff that she has to do and that forces Daniel to go all stalker on her!

I'm not sure how realistic all the theories involving Bree being "instructed" to post untruths in videos are. If they don't want anyone to know anything about their religion, why wouldn't they just instruct her to stop vlogging altogether? Sure, Daniel might get super worried and go to the cops or something, but it's not like he's got any real evidence of any kind for them to investigate, so nothing would come of it. And they certainly don't need to do anything for the benefit of the rest of us, who aren't even involved.

(I'm referring of course to realism WITHIN the "Breeniverse". Obviously taken from the perspective that this IS a game/show, the videos need to continue. I'm just saying...)

Of course, my posts all get ignored anyway. I'm sure this will be no different. Not that I've ever posted anything earth-shattering, but it's nice to be acknowledged.

I think it's because now that they're recognizing in the series that there's a forum (ex: Daniel's references to it) then they know that a lot of people watch and would be worried. So the best way to get people off their backs is to make it uninteresting and no big deal.

And I love your name, is that acknowledgement enough?

Cause if Bree "suddenly" disappeared after all that's going on, it would destroy the breeniverse and ppl will cry/go to institutions/blame cassie and owen, thor,P.Monkey, dan the man will cry

Yes, I suspect that's probably the motivation being put forth here, I just don't think it's very realistic. Assuming we are dealing with a secretive religious organization which has existed for centuries, they have probably "disappeared" plenty of people in the past, and I doubt they'd be too worried about some people on an internet forum. Sure we'd all be worried if Bree stopped posting, but what could any of us do about it? These people are untouchable. Even Daniel can't find anything out about them, and he's following them with cameras. None of us even know where they actually are.

But, as Lester said, the show would be over if she stopped vlogging, so I think I'm bitching about an element of this particular form of entertainment which simply can't be avoided... :)

Oh and thanks! There's no big story behind my name...people called me "Beavis" in college, and it grew from there, with inspiration from Rob Schneider's "makin' copies!" guy from Saturday Night Live... "The Beavinator! Beav-o-Rama...!!"

No I completely agree. It wouldn't make any sense for them to have her post fake videos on youtube/revver. If they didn't want information regarding their religion getting out into the public then that is something they would have stated initially - It would be something she already knew and is loyal to (since she is so involved with the religion). Also, if they were so secretive, Bree's Dad would not have been pushing for Daniel to video tape the play at their religious camp.

...but the theory that they pulled the wool over her family's eyes still stands. I like the whole conspiracy thing people are going with; that they are tricking her into thinking that she is part of some religion so that she is loyal to whomever they are... That would be HUGE, and involving a lot of pawns though (all the people at the camp etc)... Still, awesomeness
