Comparitive: Experimental and control groups (control gets placebo)
Uncontrolled: no control group
Placebo: false treatment
Double-blind: neither subjects nor experimenters know which treatment each group receives
Randomized: Treatments are assigned to groups at random
Block: Subjects are assigned groups based on similarities, and are then randomely given treatments (matching pairs goes along with this).

I understood it for the most part with just the minimal education I've received.
