I don't think Bree is brushing off DB and his problems. I think what she said in her video about "tough love" is probaly the best way to handle him.

I think some people here get REAL uptight about these videos. I love all the mystery and solving etc. and watch for enjoyment. I don't know I think it's like..some people are being too serious or something? One minute you have "the best video yet" and on the next vid you say this series is getting tiresome. :?:
I don't know, I guess I just want to say, chillax. You can have your opinions but..you know....just take it down a bit (obviously I'm not talking about everyone).

Oh and um...nice vid

WHO'S TAYLOR?

All I can say to that is.... THANK you! Jeeez, finally someone other than me who feels the above sentiment. :D

Hey guys.

I just wanted to chime in on this discussion too. I have to say first of all...I haven't even watched the current video yet. To be honest I'm about 7 videos behind because my interest in LG15 lately has gone WAY downhill. I used to get all excited like everyone else when I new episode went up. Lately it just seems to drag on and on so much that it just isn't exciting anymore. Now they keep bringing in all these new characters and it just makes it too hard to follow and too complicated.

I just wish that some of the forum member's suggestions had been taken and used in the series because there were many different ways that this "show" could have been taken and made interesting without making it too complicated.

Well, I'm trying to catch up with the episodes I've missed right now but I just wanted to say that while I still love LG15 and these forums, I think I have to agree with those who say maybe it should have ended earlier. It just seems to have died in a way in my eyes.

No offense to anyone btw I respect others opinions but just wanted to state mine as well. Have a great rest of the day. :D

I'd have to agree with you on that one, ericski. From a screenwriter's standpoint, the whole "Beast is an alcoholic and we must save his soul!" thing is an excellent aside, giving much needed breathing room to work on advancing the more critical elements of the storyline.

Where I disagree with you is in your hope that the new girls will stay ARG-ish while the plotline advances. BDJ *need* something to do, or the lg15 story will not evolve. Yeah, so some of the new candidates suck. W/e. We're the fans, we're practically supposed to dislike these girls! No one will ever match up to Bree in our eyes, ever. I think we all just need to suck it up and learn to love whoever the Creators decide to throw at us.

Not too many of us loved Jonas in the beginning, remember? *shrugs*
actually, i wasn't implying ARG-ish as much as a different story with the new group that is stand-alone but interacts w/ the main one sometimes. it is common in comic books to have groups that each have their own arc get together for short periods on a crossover story. i think the new girls will be a new story that takes some elements of lonelygirl15 but only rarely, if ever, have the taag actually in their vids.

I haven't read every single other post, but I thought I'd just basically add my own opinion.

I agree with what house said waaaay up there. I need answers, or at least some sort of conclusion. These new girls start popping up, but I feel like there was no closure to the DBJ story. It feels like their adventures are ending, but there's no resolution...everything just stops. I don't like that feeling.

As for the new girls...I agree that Jessica's acting may not have been amazing in the beginning of the series...but I believed her. I was one of those people who was completely blind and actually thought LG15 was real. So Jess and Yousef's acting obviously was believable. I can't say that about some of the new girls, most especially Jules. It is so clear to me that she is reading from a script...it almost makes me want to pull my hair out and scream. And the fact that the new girl seems to be "replacing" DBJ makes me even more upset, considering how (as I said above) the DBJ story hasn't had the closure that I, as a fan, have come to expect.

It almost feels like they need to like....take an actual break. I know that that's really far out there, but I really think they should take a break the same way a TV series would. It only needs to be for a week or two, just so that they can gather themselves up and come back swinging.

Take this latest video. It's setting up an unpopular new character while really offering no hope for anything with DBJ coming to an end. It just feels like it's going on and on, and they're starting to explore some, dare I say it, lame subplots: love triangles, and fighting alchoholism....It just feels like the entire series has strayed SO far from what hooked me in the begining: A couple of characters who I sympathized with, trying to deal with external issues while growing in their own relationship. For all they've been through, DBJ haven't grown, really. Not in any way that's not fairly cliche'. I'll say it again, the creators need to break and regroup, then come back with a plan that isn't just flashing guns and weak plot twists around.

The latest videos have been...poor compared to some of the earlier ones. I agree that they need to take a break. Just a short one. They can use the time to sort out where they want the story to go. While I think that the characters have grown (though in the case of some of them...it is more like "backward development"), I feel that forcing new characters on us without concluding the stories of our original trio, is a bad move on the part of the Creators.

I agree with everything said on this page so far. I'm just glad I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Thanks PolkadotConfederation!

I am in no way trying to insult the creators... heck, they've done more than most people do. But, I think the series has been on the edge of "blah" for a long time...now it's officially "blah". They've just got too many questions unanswered. The videos where I've said, "Best video!" (if I said that) are the ones that have attempted to answer some questions. However, just when they start to go down a road and get a good story going,...they just...I dunno'. Quit? Give up? Change plots?

Like I said, introducing new things to the series is good. But, I feel like the Creators were born in the ultimate barn...they keep opening doors without closing them. And, wow...are there ever a lot of doors. They need to stop building more door frames and doors and go back through the story and close some.

ETA: This series is like the Winchester House. Just keep building, but never finishing...

Now the thing is, I don't even necessarily need answers right away. I'm a big fan of the series Lost, and I'm one of the few viewers of that show that isn't impatient to know everything about the island all at once. I like the suspense, I like not-knowing. In fact, I prefer it. But in the case of LG15...it feels like we're lacking not only answers, but plot coherence. Especially since the Creators and Glenn parted ways, making OpAphid completely irrelevant. And now bringing in this "new girl", and completely forgetting to answer questions about Bree, Daniel, and Jonas. There are many other examples I could come up with. I don't need all the answers right away, and I don't really want them. But what I do want is logical plot progression, and I don't feel like I'm getting that. I feel like instead of answering things, our questions are being pushed aside and that the Creators are getting to the point where they don't even know where they're taking the series.

Now, I am in NO WAY trying to insult the Creators, the series, the actors, etc. I love lonelygirl15 with all my heart, and spend hours on these forums and watching the videos. I am simply stating my personal opinion.

i won't quote the above two posts, (they're right there)
i do largely agree with the sentiments expressed in them.
i'm starting to feel a little sad that this cool experiment may be ending.

without getting into all the talk of whether the show is sagging at the moment, i think we shouldn't jump the gun in thinking jules is going to be a long-term character. my hunch is that a number of candidates (including soccerstar aka taylor) are emerging, and we may have some influence on who becomes a more permanent cast member. everytime a new cast member has been introduced before--i.e., gemma and jonas--they have gotten a lot of hate. that's par for the course. jules might become much more likeable over time, or she might disappear. there are lots of options the Creators might explore. i hope they do.

The whole "New Girl" thing seems incredibly anticlimactic to me. The Order was willing to go through an amazing amount of trouble--following our dynamic trio, kidnapping them, murdering Bree's father--to capture Bree, and now (POOF!) there's another girl and Bree is not needed?

I really hope that this is just some sort of ploy to get Bree to participate somehow. I don't necessarily want her to be subjected to the ceremony, but I don't want the Order's whole motivation for the past few months subverted all of a sudden.
