I didn't mean that they are AGAINST romance. I just meant that romantic relationships are generally not a priority among the Order. The girls seem to be brought up differently, and thus fail to feel romantic emotion as most people do. Look at Tachyon. She was brought up a child of the Order, and she still struggles with romance today. Though we do not know much about her, she has implied that she and Brother have had romantic relations, but she does not appear very open about it. I'm just saying there's a lack of expressive emotion. I did not mean that the Order shuns romance. They're people, so I assume they fall in love, just like all people. It kind of happens. But they aren't brought up the same, so it's different. You know what I mean? I'm sorry I'm having trouble putting my thoughts into words here.silvermoon wrote:Orrr, maybe they were in love, but being a part of the Order tore them apart.
Bree's mom was more dedicated to her religion than to her family (or just too scared of the Order to take a stand against them).
Until we know what Bree's Dad actually told Bree about her mom, I don't think we can judge her too harshly. Maybe he just told her that her mom hated her stupid puppets. That could get her in a real snit.

Seriously though, I don't think that we've had enough exposure to the Order to make a blanket statement that they are against romance. We've only really seen one Order couple -- Bree's parents (and we've never actually seen her mom).
The other Order characters are "on the job" when we see them. We know nothing about their personal lives. We have no idea what the ceremony is or isn't or how it is affected by romance, besides the fact that Bree took a purity oath.
I know a lot of Catholic kids who took purity oaths, that doesn't mean the Catholic church is against romance, you know what I mean?
I just don't think there is enough evidence to support this either way.
