Okay, so i could see her character maybe being a real-world connection for them, but I don't think she should get a permanent spot. She was surprisingly better than I expected (though, lets face it, AI was the demise of reality television).

I have to agree...she was a nice addition

This is what I like about you. You are honest with your opinions, yet you can agree with something that you were initially against. Some people are so hard-headed that they can't consider new perspectives.

Hooray for you!
Thanks gogo!
You know the connection to the real world, or someone watching out from her, or a character from OpAphid in secret...she could definately help for the storyline...
you know if not her, at least a character like her. I assume with a new album coming out she will be doing a promo press tour for the next two-three months, so obviously she'll be too busy. But to intergrate a character that serves the purposes i mentioned about would be useful. And of course it would be a great balance if it was a female character.

I'd love to see her character return.

Her acting is decent, yet not so great that she poses a threat of upstaging Jessica!

Extra eye-candy can't hurt the show.

My thing is that because you KNEW who she was you KNEW she was actuing so you would LOOK for flaws and things instead of just watching it unfold like a regular webcast or vidblog :?

No i say the one time visit was good but maybe be a set up to "seek out" a "friend" or two to add to the series as a recurring charachter...
I have no clues to offer you... But I know how to download if you're offering!!!

i actually had the same problem the first time I watched it...kind of the second time...
i just think they need a new non-evil character

am i the only person who thinks she looks a little bit like bree?
Nope, someone on the main page posted that...unless it was you too, in which case, I guess you are the only one. :/

I don't see it. :s

And why does a new character HAVE to have some monumental role in the plot? Why can't Jonas, Beast and Bree just meet some normal...non-plot essential people? The crux of this thing is the reality aspect, so it would make sense if SOMEONE has no idea what is going on and means nothing to the development of the story...I meet people like that in my life all of the time.

I say she made for an interesting video, and I wouldn't be put off if she were to come back and make another one. I still mantain that she was SO much better at the acting thing than Gemma.

Actually, I much preferred her character even to Bree, who is falling out of favour with me FAST. I mean, she seemed so normal. It was nice. :p

i don't want her to move in. I think Bree needs a FEmale buddy.

I think her character could be a possible alternate love interest for the Beast, she obviously conforted him while was drowning his sorrows over at that bar.

She could have a potentially interesting role. She doesnt have to be for the rest of the show, but 10 episodes or so would be cool.

Everytime a rock star wants to sell a CD we can't have them move in with Jonas. Likely going to see a lot of this.

Like every show, we have to put up with a certain number of commercials.

Not moved in, but I wouldn't mind Daniel chilling with Mcphee a few more times. Maybe create a little jealousy with bree, ya know, whatev.

I think it should be just what it was meant to be...a one show jig. Maybe introduce another character later on, but not her, not someone famous that can't commit to the show.

my gramma watched all these soap operas when i was a kid and i always noticed how people would just show up in town, with nowhere to live, and a few weeks later they would be not only living with one of the characters, but intricately involved with their lives. (that and how friends just come in the house w/o knocking, but i digress)

all this to say, it is often how characters are worked into shows. i don't watch tv, so i didn't know randomgirl's previous stuff on idol. i had no expectations. i thought she did a good job and i liked her. (i was surprised after all the stuff about how good-looking she was, to see that she's just cute.)
anyway, i think she makes a good addition.

Katherine Macphee was good as an outsider coming into the strange bubble of the Breeniverse. Her character added a touch of reality to the storyline, which is a good thing.

BUT. I can't see her as permanent character. She's not a good enough actress for it. Her character just seemed awkward, which is okay for this role, but it wouldn't be good if her role suddenly changed to one of the main characters.

I thought she did quite well, especially when Jonas was asking Bree how she felt about Daniel & Kat stood up for Bree. Besides that, she & Bree could end up fighting over something/someone. No, I don't mean going Springer, I mean the truly evil, silent, back stabbing ways ladies of class have of going at it.

LST: Yep, I think it'd be fun to have her back.

I would agree. It would be fun...

I really can't see Ms. McPhee staying around for the long-haul as some folks have suggested, though. I wouldn't mind if our Terrific Trio bumped into her again, since she was invited over after assisting the DanielBeast :smt030 in his time of need. It would seem rather unrealistic or even rude of the characters to hang out with this bowling-bar gal, include her in one of their videoblogs, play Truth or Dare and cards and then only to never speak with her again.

(Unless we learn that she slept over and while everyone else was asleep, she totally stole from them: money, credit cards, :smt035 Jonas' guitar, :smt117 tiny chickens fit for stuffing, expensive pine nut$, etc. :smt077 hee hee...)

But seriously, I'm with the camp that doesn't believe she will/should be a new character. Maybe she could show up in another guest-spot that makes sense within the story.

I thought she did a pretty good job. (I can't see how anyone could expected McPhee's limited role in a three minute video to be her time to shine as an actress. :-k )

Among other things

Well, she definitely would have stuck out if she was all glammed up with full make up on and extra American Idol lighting.

(Although can you imagine how angered people would have been if she showed up looking like a glamazon, with a full-length evening gown, propping up a staggering, drunken Daniel? This forum would be filled with bitter remarks like :smt011 ---> "How dare she show up and try to upstage our Lonelygirl's natural beauty!!!" :smt076 "Who goes to the bowling alley in that kind of fancy get-up!?!" heehee Actually, I would have found it slightly amusing, just to for the outrage...)
