[PUZZLE][SOLVED] 12-9-06 "XX/XY" (Ver. 1.0)

I've said it before and I'll say it again. It looks like one of those math problems I hated in school. No numbers, only letters. And it almost looks like a division problem. The top line divided by the bottom line.

if we look at it from the HEX point of view, as if we weren't supposed to solve the letters and tach jsut gave it to us as a Hex problem is it possible that it is (the underscores _ sybolize the y's):

SO if this is the case 1c and 1 f as spaces would fit in there some how....
it works 12 file names, 12 empty spaces to figure out

or am I jsut slow in figuring this out.

edited: found an error in the formation...fixxed it.

edited again...because i'm an idiot and blind and haven't been paying really good attention...i jsut realized this is EXSACTLY what you have all been doing ... feel free to bitch slap me!

I'm gonna go out on a limb here... cause at this point, where else is there to go?
I threw this out in IRC last night, just before my battery died.

Perhaps the XX/Xy is the key to the list?

We know that if we decode the numbers before the vids, we get letters..

Perhaps those letters correlate with names in the list?

I noticed some odd names in the list when I began to do this, and they appeared to be anagramable (huh?)...
What I mean is this..

a) anganderk
F) FromSubjectSent
L) LonWpnX
m) mmkhamsehee

etc...

It's just a theory..

Or perhaps another way.. Are there corresponding usernames that have numbers in them? That would produce another phone number when combined?

And perhaps when looking through the List, if there is more than one name under a letter.. Perhaps the obviously male/female would lend itself to the chromosomes..?

(sigh) Ok.. It's a stretch.. are you confused? I am.

Anyway.. Wanted to chuck that out there and see how many eyes I poke out.

Hi folks. I'm a long-time lurker and just now decided to post. Anywho...

About this puzzle - is it possible that it's been encoded twice (or more times)? Because the letters we get from the Hex translation really don't make too much sense. "Look familiar?" seems like the obvious answer, but we aren't given all those letters and I really don't think we'd be given a puzzle that was incorrect. I'm still learning about ciphers, decodes, etc. but there is still a bunch of information we haven't used yet that might help with this puzzle.

For example, the bowling score of 112? 7:15? The shark?

I don't know... maybe I'm just rambling, but I thought I'd give my two cents worth to see if this helps anything.

I tried rearranging the filenames. I took a guess that maybe they were meant to be in alphanumeric order, and tried:

That gave me LMooabffgi which when put through an anagram generator didn't give me much anything noteworthy.

I then flipped the order, and tried

6b

which converted to FFbaoomllk which gave me just as much.

Now, I'm right back where I started, nearly completely lost. I can't shake this feeling that maybe the PMs made a little mistake.

I shot Tachyon a message that asked for help a little bit, so we'll see what comes of that.

ok ive been really sick, so i havent been on in a few days. but i was looking at this post and i was wondering one thing... there are some people who are thinking it means to split up bree and daniel. first of all, if tach's trying to help bree, she wouldnt want her running around on her own.. UNLESS she knows something about daniel we dont. which makes me wonder about her(tachs) intentions.
i dont think she wants them to split up, but if she did, it would add to my theory that brother is actually jonas. hear me out

daniel is against going there. to get bree there, whats the easiest solution? get rid of daniel.
it was said that jonas and brother do not sound alike. i have listened to brothers VM 1000 times and it sounds like a phoney voice. not like electronically disguised, but just like a guy trying to make his voice sound a little different.

i know its all speculation, but at this point thtas all i have to go on. plus i have about a gallon of cold medicine in me right now, so i hope i even made sense
