What do you think of Jonas becoming canon?

Oh please. How can you complain about him just being good looking? I remember someone said once "is this a cult or a modeling agency?". They're all very good looking.

I don't believe anyone wishes he were cannon JUST because he's good looking. That wouldn't make sense- if that was the case we wouldn't care if he was cannon cause we can still watch his unofficial videos to see him.

I like where his story is headed. A lonely boy, all alone in his big old house, mysterious death of parents...

And all this said, how do we even know it's cannon yet? I'm not saying it won't be announced eventually, but she may have just been acknowledging a fan. The Creators have said they're starting to encourage fans in creating their own characters, so Bree may be acknowleding him as another character but not neccessarily an official one by the Creators. Bree has mentioned fans in her video before- maybe that's all it is.

We'll just have to wait and see.

Anyways, he seems like a nice, level-headed character....with crazy editing skills. He seems innocent and sweet...maybe he is a child of anchor cove? And maybe there are more...?

Alright, here's the deal - Jonas is canon, because as Jessica said in many an interview, all the lg videos are finished. They filmed them all at once - which is why the movies in the date with P Monkey are in fact very old. This is also why she responds to a user who's youtube account is 3 weeks old, while other users who post/blog to her all the time go literally unnoticed.
Also, with the looks issue - the reason Jonas seemed canon to me from the start was because he is good looking - he's obviously an actor. No offense, but how many people THAT good looking do you see doing video blogs on youtube? Not many. It's the SGF - suspiciously good looking factor, and I'm trademarking that right now, for use in discussion of future possible canons.

On a more serious note: I think there is something very fishy about someone like Jonas. Think about it - he's been on youtube 3 weeks and has already discovered and gotten involved with Bree... he lives alone because his parents died... he obviously doesn't work or go to school or have many friends...
Could he be a trap set by the deacons? Or by whoever is trying to protect her? OR could he be brother's modus operandi trying to contact Bree without OpAphid finding out? I'm excited to figure this out - obviously they wouldn't just introduce some random bystander with that interesting of a back story... he's GOT to be connected to what's already going on somehow.

Umm, that's definitely not true. For example in a video when they're on the run released Nov. 9 they had the radio on playing an NPR story from Nov. 6. While technically they could have filmed it months ago and inserted that in just before release, I don't really see the point. The Creators always say they film as they go along.

Even if I am wrong in that (which I might be in retrospect, I'm merely referencing an interview with JEssica I saw a long time ago in which she said she already knew the ending bc she'd finished filming them). I've failed to see a time when the series acknowledged anyone who wasn't canon.
Someone on the comments board said that they added P Monkey instead of Purple Monkey and something about oranges based on user comments. But that seems incredibly minor for people who claim this series is molded by user participation. I just have a really hard time believing this series pays any attention to what people think they should be doing. I mean, that guy who does the "A Thelemanite Speaks" series has been posting forever and they never akniowledged him. When they do acknowledge comments, unless they're from people who are canon, they're always super general about it.

I think they likely do insert things more current into the plot to keep the ARG mystique going.
But again, this is just one woman's opinion, no need to jump down my throat about it - if I"m wrong, I'm wrong and we'll just have to see.

(I say that bc I'm realizing that I'm going to get like 500 "post reply" emails from people wanting to tell me how wrong I am- that isn't necessary, we will all find out what's going on with this in time, people, I'm just speculating - take it at face value)

While I definitely do not think she ever said these were all finished, I do find it interesting that the movie theater Bree filmed at was filmed at by Nikki yesterday as well. The posters are different. While Nikki thinks it could be that they change the posters every Friday with the new movies and stuff, it is a bit suspicious, esp. considering all the older movies Bree saw. It makes you wonder if indeed that particular video was done longer ago than we might think.

I was wondering the same thing. Except that only 1 or 2 of the posters have changed. Fast Food Nation, Candy, Volver and a few others that were in Bree's vid were also there yesterday. I'm not sure why Bree specifically named those movies - maybe the titles have plot significance? or maybe it's supposed to be a second run theater (i.e., small town, middle of nowhere)?

Maybe Jonas' parents who disappeared at sea experience some kind of spiritual enlightenment... so they joined The Order... and had a baby... and named her Bree... and they were told by The Order not to return to their son because he was an evil anti-order freak.

Or maybe they suffered brain damage and they don't remember him.

Or maybe only one of them lived and he/she washed up on shore in England and went on to remarry and have a baby and name her Bree.

Maybe Bree and Jonas will have a big incestuous lovefest.

Or maybe Jonas' parents are Lucy and Baldy McCreepy.

Or maybe they just died.
