covedweller wrote:I also think it's important to note that this announcement isn't the Creators taking anything away from US.

They are acknowledging us and this thing we've been a HUGE part of.

The disclaimer rap is just to disuade anyone from stalking people behind the scenes (because there's been a history of that).

Personally, I hope this ultimately leads to OpAphid dispatching of the Danielbeast, or something cool like that.

But Tachyon seems to have her own story and world that a lot of us find more compelling, so I doubt it's going anywhere.

Another idea I had is like Buffy and Angel. Two seperate series, but same universe, acknowledgement, crossover. I will spare any Star Trek references though, because I'll be damned if I've been following the Deep Space 9 of the series!

I'll stick with thinking of it as Buffy/Angel
I dont know I like to think of Oppy as you know the Star Trek Voyager of LG (ya know may have been good but only a few ever watched to see)

Ok, I'm sorry I may be missing something. I have no idea why so many people are upset that Op is canon. First, we've seen this coming for a while now. The two stories have been looking like they were merging for some time. Also, just because the creators have now said that OpAphid is a part of LG (the official ARG or whatever) it doesn't mean that the curtain has been pulled back. We still don't know who runs OpAphid (I'm sure it is not the creators), we just know that now they are linked with the LG storyline. I'm of the mind that this won't change the way the game is run because I believe they have been linked for a while and we just didn't know it. And we had no complaints a week ago right? No, because there was nothing to complain about. It is still the same game with the same PM's. I don't believe that will change.

Ok, I am done ranting now. 8)

I have to say that I agree with Luv. Whats the big deal? We all suspected it was canon. Doesn't change anything...we still will have clues to figure out, a bunch of people running around the state of California on our behalf (thanks guys :D ) and many sleepless nights trying to figure out that one last part....

I, for one, just want to move on to the next puzzle.

I hope I'm wrong, but I suspect that with a (much) larger audience, Op will have to tone down some of her edginess ("can't spell Top without Op"!). The puzzles and stuff are great, but it's the tone of the game that drew me in. I just don't know that they'll be able to sustain it now for fear of offending someone. She'll probably start being nice to Greystoke! Plus with so many more people playing, there's no way we'll be able to get the same kind of personal messages. Even when she was cutting and pasting, Op usually added something to her notes.

I miss her already. :(

I'm going to keep lurking in the hopes that she'll prove me wrong, but I wouldn't bank on it.

I think the drops were always guarded and watched in some way. How else would they have known when to call the payphone?

awwww Ziola! Your brain works! at least it seems to from reading your posts!

After being angry, and writing a very angry letter to Op, I was assured, by Op herself, that the puzzles and mysteries and such, would continue to go on as they have been. At least thats what I got from it.
