While I'm perusing...have you ever read "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" by T.S. Eliot? It's a classic - my favorite poem, I think. I've had to read it so many times for different classes and analyze it each time. I love it! Never gets old...:)

Can one really call themself a poetry lover without reading the original love song?

I used to be able to write poetry, but I seem to have lost that ability. xD I still love reading it!

You should totally keep writing poetry! Do what I do: keep a notepad next to your bed. I think of the most amazing things in the moment before I drift off to sleep. I used to find I was too lazy to get up to find paper and would, subsequently, forget what I was supposed to remember! Hence, the notepad. I use poetry as an outlet for all sorts of emotions. Everyone's a poet! :)

Oh my gosh. I have finally found my perfect thread. I love what you guys are talking about!
I love poetry and reading and writing. Absolutely love it.
FP: I do that too! Sometimes I'll just feel inspired to write about one certain thing. I write just random paragraphs sometimes because I don't want to lose it. Hopefully someday I'll get to expand on all of them.
My favorite poem is Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll. I have many other favorites though.

Twas brillig! And the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe,
All mimsy were the borogoves
And the momewraths outgrabe!

Beware the Jabberwock, my son
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch
Beware that Jub jub bird
And shun, the frumious bandersnatch

He took his vorpal sword in hand
Long time the maxome foe he sought
So rested he by a tum tum tree
And stood a while and thought

And as in uffish thought he stood
The Jabberwock with eyes of flame
Came wiffling through the tulgey wood
And burbled as he came

One-two! One-two!
And through and through the vorpal sword
Went snicker-snack! He left it dead, and with it's head
He went galumfing back

And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms my beamish boy!
Oh frabjous day! Callooh, callay!
He chortled in his joy

Twas brillig! And the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe
All mimsy were the borogoves
And the momewraths outgrabe

lol, I have that memorized.
