It was from "Firefly", a show by Joss Whedon. From the episode "Jaynestown" where Jayne, a hired gun who isn't that bright and will do anything for money, robs the head of an industrial town, and accidently looses all the money by dropping it onto the town, and thus everyone in the town thinks he's a hero.

Oh, I don't mean I didn't get the reference! I loved Firefly. Jayne wasn't my favorite character, but he wasn't bad as far as eye candy goes.

I meant I didn't get the reason for the reference.

Basically, Shadow is upset that Jonas is ignoring his original post, and this is his rebellion. Posting inane crap until Jonas comes here.

ETA" Or her.

Yikes.

Cool! In that case:

If it were done when 'tis done, then 'twere well
It were done quickly. If the assassination
Could trammel up the consequence, and catch,
With his surcease, success; that but this blow
Might be the be-all and the end-all -here,
But here, upon this bank and shoal of time,
We'ld jump the life to come.

(not to say that Shakespeare is inane, exactly)

Listen to these wild traditions,
To this Song of Hiawatha!
Ye who love a nation's legends,
Love the ballads of a people,
That like voices from afar off
Call to us to pause and listen,
Speak in tones so plain and childlike,
Scarcely can the ear distinguish
Whether they are sung or spoken;-
Listen to this Indian Legend,
To this Song of Hiawatha!
Ye whose hearts are fresh and simple,
Who have faith in God and Nature,
Who believe that in all ages
Every human heart is human,
That in even savage bosoms
There are longings, yearnings, strivings
For the good they comprehend not,
That the feeble hands and helpless,
Groping blindly in the darkness,
Touch God's right hand in that darkness
And are lifted up and strengthened;-
Listen to this simple story,
To this Song of Hiawatha!

Good one! :)

There is an inn,
A merry old inn,
Beneath an old gray hill.
And there they brew a beer so brown
That the man in the moon himself came down
One night, to drink his fill.

Good question. I don't think my avatar will help. Does that mean I'm kicked out of the thread?

No, you're not kicked out, and Susan, I don't know.

we first need to hope he looks there and then find some way to get him to come here.
