First, thank you Creators for providing us all with entertainment, a place to go and meet with friends to discuss them with!

I think you should do whatever you can to raise money for this!~

I'm completely with you!

Many people would be pleased to see 7-11 as a sponsor.

I'm just putting a word in for them!

I'm just happy to see the growth and movement, in whatever direction it needs to take, in order to create the best series.

Honestly, I think it would be rather inappropriate of viewers to tell people who need to support themselves and this production (namely you) what to do financially. Unless I plan on taking out a second mortgage to support all of you for a year, then I feel that I really have no business telling you how to finance your business, which provides me with multiple opportunities for entertainment (at no additional cost to me).
I second that.

And, really, I can't say there would even be anything in poor creative taste about it if it was incorporated realistically in a video that you guys intended to make anyway. People eat candy casually all the time.

By the way, it really seems almost laughable to me that you guys have to ask. Not laughable that you are asking, but that you're in such a position as to have to. I know there will be people who complain about it because you guys are apparently "supposed to be" running a charity here, but I just think it's going to be funny when -- inevitably -- some people who want the production to continue complain about this.

Especially given that character are "real" - they're gonna like real products. We all trust you not to be total shills! I think we're all so desensitized it will barely be noticed. It adds a good dose of realism to have Bree say "Can I have a coke?" than "Can I have a cola?" Same with candy - I don't think I've ever wanted a general "candy," but something specific ("give me a snickers or you die now").

I think it's great - you should've collected for the products in the Thanksgiving episode too!

Yes go for it. I applaud you for consulting first! I trust you will do it in a very subtle manner so I encourage you to do it more often.

Okay people are going to jump on my ass for saying what I am about to say, but I am sure as hell going to say it anyway. I politely read through their posts so they get to read through mine...

Generally product placement makes me feel all icky. I am by all means a capitalist, but even saying that I think it can be taken too far. Without getting into my personal views on big business and the like, I agree that any and every company, no matter how large or small, has the right to advertise their product/service if they so choose. It just makes me feel icky because ever since I was a little girl I have had advertisements and marketing campaigns shoved down my throat. It isn't easy to avoid it, you can't just turn off the TV anymore to get rid of it, it's EVERYWHERE. I just hate that I live in a world where everywhere I look some airbrushed waif is silently criticizing me for not buying the 1000 handbag she is holding or how my little cousin complains about how my aunt won't allow her to eat at McDonald's because every other kid in the free world eats there 3 or more times a week.

HOWEVER...

I do understand the position you guys are in and I have also learned from living on Earth that money makes things happen, and you guys need to keep some rolling in for this to continue. In fact I applaud you for keeping it going as long as you have, and keeping it free for us, which earns you a long row of gold stars in my book. And it's not like my opinion has any weight in the grand scheme of things, but I say go for it. I am pretty sure I could survive a little product placement (I have for 23 years) and if it lines your pockets a little bit then awesome, you guys definitely deserve it. Just please for the love of god don't start inserting commercials into the episodes! I don't watch TV for a reason.

After 15-20 years of typing it, you'd think I'd be able to avoid typos. You'd be wrong if you thought that, though ;)

I don't care what kinda candy it is... I voted yes hours ago, and I'm still waiting...

More seriously, if The Creators can get product placements in without cramming advertising down our throats, I'm all for it. And if it were Mentos, then it would have to be really cheesy, or I'd be a bit disappointed

I am happy for you that people want to sponsor your show. If it is done tastefully, I have no problem with it. And I'm glad you mentioned it so we don't spend hours trying to decipher the significance of a the product when it appears!

Excellent point. Can you imagine all the frenzy over a couple of Chicklets if people weren't notified.

I do hope the candy will be revealed ahead of time...
