Tom Jones, Dolly Parton, Dionne Warwick...but I'm still not ashamed. Oh, I know..I have a "Rehab" CD that I love that I would definately hide from some people.
heehehe...and Tori. I have some friends I would never ever listen to Tori in front of...or Fiona Apple..or any lillith-esque music

I had a friend who coined the phrase "strum c*nt music" for that particular milieu.

I love anything even remotely related to the Valley of the Dolls... especially pharmaceuticals.

Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret by Soft Cell. A lot of people hate that album or think of it as Eighties-era kitsch, but I'm fond of it. Forget the cover of "Tainted Love" (good as it is) and listen to "Sex Dwarf" and "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye"...

If I could read your mind love
What a tale your thoughts could tell
Just like a paperback novel
The kind that drugstores sell
When you reach the part where the heartaches come
The hero would be me
But heroes often fail
And you won't read that book again
Because the ending's just too hard to take
Heh. Nothing wrong with those. I'm a sucker for Gordon...
I used to have a bootleg of ABBA demos. "Fernando" sounded awesome on that cassette. I'd play it when intoxicated people refused to leave my place at, say, four in the morning...
And come on. Burt Bacharach is cool.

I'll admit to turning on Mash or Hawaii 5-o when people don't want to leave my house...

All I have to do is offer to play my own compositions for people to get them to leave.
