So this is good! I hope that something more can come out of it too. Like financial reassurance for our LG15 Cast n Crew.
(Damn I wish Target would sponsor you!!)
Speaking of sponsors, Degree deodorant is sponsoring webisodes of a 24 spinoff:
http://www.degreemen.com/men/cturookie/?siteid=ct
On the one hand when Hollywood puts out a spinoff on the web and gets a corporate sponsor- that adds credibility to the medium. On the other hand, if the lg15s of the world don't step it up, they'll get passed by.
I really didn't see Hollywood jumping in like this. I think lg15 can hang though. They seem to realize they can take up the slack by utilizing the true power of the internet, the people. I think it's important now more then ever to find a way to successfully intergrate fan interaction and ARG elements. This thing with Katharine McPhee is both huge and necessary because it all begins and ends with eyeballs. Getting people watching and keeping them watching are both important but obviously one precedes the other.

Not only is this a great idea to boost viewership and income, create a buzz about LG15, and get some eye candy going for the show; it just plain makes good business sense. I applaud this addition of guest appearances, and I must now go brush up on my singing voice for my inevitable karaoke fan video.

While that would be cool, how would you feel about BRITNEY SPEARS doing a guest spot? imagine the incredible spotlight that would bring. i know everyone here's first reaction will be 'oh, man, no way, britney sucks, yadda yadda yadda' - but seriously, think of the major exposure it would bring. and then everyone else in the Britney-level of celebrity would say "oh, britney did it? hmm, let me check that out ...."
i say bring it on. let's start a campaign to get britney to appear -- someone has to know someone .... make it so....

This sucks, Creators.
edit to add: I understand though, that it may help to keep the show going. So I'll deal. But just know that I think this sucks.

What might be a cool idea is to have the LG15 characters meet up in the same location as a Tachyon drop -- and catch an OpA player looking for the drop on film! Like, if Danielbeast was looking for the Tachyon's drop at the same time as the person assigned to pickup the drop from the ARG.
This might be way too complicated, though. But neat.

Well if Friday finds this forum is abuzz with new people trying to get caught up on the story by asking many fundamental questions, luckily JayHenry, Bruckers and OwenIsCool (among many others) have done a really great job of keeping the LGPedia updated, edited, revised, organized and pretty darn snappy.
We can be helpful and send confused people to the LGPedia for info.
I'm rather optimistic and excited for tomorrow's events.
(
Please note my impressive use of the LGPedia color scheme
.)
As far as having lg15 characters bump into ARGers, I would be all for it only if twj is somewhere in the background eating a sandwich with William Hung. (If William Hung is too busy, won't work for free or just not into lg15, then I definitely need me some twj-sandwich action.)
