I think a "Sticky" or something labeled "For Parents" would be appropriate. Explain what is expected of this forum and the posters but also explain that ANYTHING can be posted for a short time before Mods get to it.

Personally, when I'm on the net with my 11-year-old I have him turn his head first while I scan the page....NO MATTER WHAT I'm looking for. I had "Safe-search" on and typed in "discipline"......WOW....safe search STINKS!

She realized that I couldn\'t be protected from everything and that I would probably watch these types of movies with friends. She had the foresight to teach me early that what happens on screen is not reality. She always told me that knowing the difference between reality and fiction was the most important concept.
I actually agree with this. I think your mom did a smart thing.

Anyway, in my opinion most "curse words" should be allowed to be said here. This includes what I like to call the "standard set":

(For the sake of our young colleague, I'll censor them this time)
"a--"
"da--"
"sh--"
"fu--"
"bi---"
"ba----rd"

Provided, of course, they don't constitute the majority of content in our posts. It's a privelege that shouldn't be abused, of course.

Obviously we shouldn't be able to use them excessively on each other, either, but that falls under flaming, which is inappropriate conduct anyway.

I feel like it would be a mistake to censor such words, as many of us use them as our natural way of expression. I also think it would be a mistake to censor the vast majority of sexual innuendo that gets used here from time to time. Considering what passes for PG-13 these days, most of what gets said here on the forum is tame.

I'm also glad that the Creators have allowed aspects of the story to take a more mature development. As most of us who post here are legal adults, if every episode was Bree playing with her stuffed toys, we'd get up and leave pretty quick. Which I think the Creators learned during the motel saga; most of us were ready to explode or strangle Bree after a month of that sh-- (censored again for our young member).

Nothing in this series screams "restricted" in any sense to me.
No nudity, no swearing, no obscene comments.
and i'm pretty sure i'm not missing anything.

I do not think the storyline is bad. I have told my parents all about the storyline and the only thing that bugged them was the tate murder photo is the CiW. Its the stuff some ppl post and the words and things they put in their post that bug me personally.

yeah

the ciw clips were pretty dark...they are not part of the story...at least I'm pretty sure.
I think that is the reason they decided not to include it...because it was too dark

I admit to being controversial and I assume that I am offensive to some people. The only time I slipped and didn't censor my "off color" language, it was done for me. I want to also say that many things I've posted, that were neither obscene nor "off color" have been censored/deleted for unknown reasons. That makes me physically ill. The most offensive things I have encountered in this forum were of a sexual/ flirtatious manner. I wish that type of thing were more discouraged and that the mods would lighten up on the the use of "curse words". Either way, I find this site to be "well" moderated....a little too "well" actually. If you or your parents are offended by things that are posted here...good luck playing elsewhere. I'd make a snarky comment, but I'll severely censor myself and say that I completely agree.

13? Oh dear...the things I was imagining/reading when I was 8...wait, is that a sign of serial killer?

so now I'm feeling like my innocence was robbed from me far too early on, and before I was feeling naive when I learned one of my friends started smoking at twelve.

Okay, so my .02 cent weigh in is that swearing happens. I don't agree to mild porn or overly pointless violent videos/images, but I do think that swearing, occassional references to an -erm- mature lifestyle are not off the mark.

Bree [and Jonas?] may live in the world of 'Age ten and under' but Daniel, Gemma, Tachyon and Oppy all seem to understand the more realistic and serious situations that are out there.

I just want to say that for the past 6 months (when I first started this topic) that the Moderators, Ambassadors, and BK have done a amazing job. They always take care of the spam and always help me! Thank you guys for that!

My opinion:

The story: teenage girl pursued by cult that has kidnapped and drugged her and her friends, killed her father, god knows what else. Teens also engage in repeated kidnappings, hackings, weapon possession and such. Sexual inuendo is not new to the story and the f-bomb has been dropped in canon.

The board: matches the show.

PG-13 means that you aren't supposed to fly solo and the board isn't designed for that purpose. We're keeping it below R/NC-17 but allowing more than G. The rest isn't up to the mods or the users en masse but rather in the hands of the consumer and guardians where applicable.

The new Sarah video ('Everybody does it') could use some censoring, and the whole Bree/Jonas 'did they or didn't they' is inapropriate in my eyes, I think I'll stop watching if this continues. It's a cheap way of getting views, all this sex stuff.

What's there to censor? She didn't say anything you wouldn't hear on basic cable, much less in a PG-13 film.

As for the sex, realistically speaking, you don't put this many teenagers together and not expect something to happen.
