I'm not trying to hang on to my Gary Feinman suggestion for dear life, just providing info from the comments board.
B-as-in-B just provided this link to an American Anthropological Association page on a bit of an academic-butting-of-heads between Jared Diamond and Gary Feinman.

Ok, I'll stop now. Back to Richard Feynman...

While we have criticized Diamond, most recently in the March issue of the American Anthropologist, for his over reliance on the causal importance that he gives to environmental hazards and factors in his case studies, we do agree with the major theoretical thesis advanced in this book. Namely the recognition that many past episodes of societal decline were caused by a complex interplay of natural perturbations (such as climatic change or environmental calamity) and anthropogenic or human factors (such as poor responses to initial challenges) that often played off each other for decades, if not much longer.
Oh boy...that paragraph is making me rethink my desire for a second Master's degree. Do I really want to research through volumes of bloated paragraphs like that? UGh.
Yeah, okay....I probably do.

maybe the original creator of Oppy took the higher-level fiction classes while the Bree writers took remedial English!

would explain the difference in difficulty, eh?

I think it's The Creators way of giving us CiW followers some kind of closure.
What that means is that in the Breeniverse, CiW was an extension of Cassie's prank calls. Cassie liked to mess with people, and she started using YouTube, probably once she saw Bree on there, as a means to get back at Bree a little (and mess with us, Bree's newfound friends).
CiW ended when Cassie went too far, got bored, or realized we knew Bree was okay post October 12th.
But the awesome part of this is that whatever we thought we knew about Cassie is 100% null and void.
All we knew was what she wanted us to see to mess with us.
For all we know, she is a normal, girl next door with a hidden dark side.
This totally disregards Frank and everything we know about Frank having made Cassie's videos. This is not closure in any way.
Yeah, unless Frank was still Cassie, like her creation.
Or maybe he was just someone affiliated with her prank? An older guy named Frank that she let touch her boobs or something who would buy her wine coolers?
Sorry, totally getting shades of Wooderson here...
"I keep getting older, and they stay the same age!"

lol, Covedweller just pinned down Frank's character so well. Frank shouldn't be introduced, CiW was not canon and ran with the Cassie mentions in LG15. It's really neat that the series is kinda giving a wave to the fact that Cassie did happen, and that she was a major creepo.
But on a more important note, are we talking a case or just a few from the fridge?

I think the VM sounds horrible. Oo. Although, a good point was made on the first page. It does sound quite a bit like brother. I might listen again just to try and visualize.
Creators are trying to get... creative. Good Times.

I dont know if this was already posted or not, but in the video when Bree is on the phone she mentions to the person that she did not receive the birthday card? Was she talking to Tachyon?
And yes, I also thought Bree's dad sounded like Brother.
Way to go guys, on cracking that phone number!
I wish I would have been around to see it all go down!

I wondered that, too, mint (whether she was talking to Tachy).
If it is brother on the phone (and it sounds just like him) how would Bree not recognize her own father's voice??
I thought it was actually a pretty lame dis at Cassie from the Creators. Even if CiW went down in flames, she started out great. Those videos were awesome. Op's the shit, but I miss Cassie!
covedweller, where's the anti-Op site? I can't believe anyone doesn't love Op!

I thought it was interesting that she not only mentioned Cassie, but great-uncle Franklin as well...

I definately thought she was talking to Tachy as well. But its hard to say..maybe they were just confirming who is part of the series?

I picked up on the birthday card mention, too. But, some people are speculating that the message from Bree's father is really Brother's voice...and is an attempt by Tachyon contact Bree.
That doesn't make sense if she were already talking to Tachyon directly.

Keep in mind also that Bree's father sounding like brother may also be just 1) coincidence or 2) our senses being manipulated to what we want to hear / others suggest we hear.

on the video she didn't call the second number.. the one from the dry cleaners voicemail. and i'm not sure but i think the voices from the dry cleaner and bree's dad's v/m were different..
so.. my point is.. we don't know wether or not bree recognized her dad's voice.

To the best of our knowledge, Bree has only called the number that leads to the dry cleaners'.
Regarding the birthday card, I do not think that Bree was talking to Tachyon. Remember that all previous communication between Tachyon and B&D went through Daniel, and we never saw Daniel tell Bree about it (and unless I actually see someone explain something to Bree and see the light of wisdom dawn in her eyes, I don't believe she knows it). Also, I don't think Tachyon would have gone through all the trouble of writing out a birthday card and concealing it in a drop for someone else to deliver if she was in such close contact with Bree.
