But don't the best games (and art) imitate life?

Anyway the only fun aspects of Op is interacting with other people(which I'm not good at) and going out and retrieving a drop, which maybe only a handful of people that follow Op live in that general area. I know you guys can't be addicted to solving puzzles after puzzles for no reward...right?

Solutions are rewards to these players and since motivation is often unique to individuals it makes a great deal of sense that some of us play, some lurk, some ignore all together, some archive, some vid, some interview chatbots. We all have our ways and none of them are anymore right than the next.

I live in a totally different country, there is no way i can grab a drop. I love the analysis and people part though.

Some rewards are internal.

Actually, Op has had a pretty solid story buildup with character development through these drops, puzzles, etc. In some ways Op isn't as hardcore as some ARGs (stuff happens without having to solve anything). The YT videos still holdup aside from the puzzles and drop clues though. It may not be as "talky" as LG15, but the forward motion of the storytelling is similar.

Also, is there an online escrow service someone can recommend?

I (and many others it seems) are willing to put $$ into it if "iamcool" is to make these bets official. Some are even offering him 3 to 1 odds on the bet.

Let's make this bitch put up some cash or walk away in shame like the troll that he is!

Give the boy a break! We know he is not right...I mean, look at his name...

It anagrams to: I AM LOCO

That more or less sums it up!

Actually, I do enjoy working on these puzzles. Being a mother and working with kids gives me precious little time to myself. Working on these puzzles has really been fun. Its "me" time. I'm nowhere near a drop (clear across the country) and I don't care. Let someone else drive around all night to look in dark and spooky places. I'll sit at home waiting for them in my warm room. :)

I've learned a lot of interesting things working on this and I think that an increase in knowledge really is its own reward. Call me cliche, I don't care.
It's official!! I'm getting married September 28, 2007!!

Actually, that has been the coolest part I think (to elaborate on what Ziola said). I like the puzzles with no right or wrong answer, but the ones that give us things to think about or read up on. The themes do tie into what we've seen so far, and it also lets us experience the story in our own way based on how we interpet it.

It's almost like the opposite of the LG15 approach, which has been to let our minds wander and fill in the blanks for months, and then we get to this point (post-10/12/06) where the story could never live up to what we've created in our minds as to what was really going on.

We've been given the important beats of the OpAphid/Tachyon story, and also some pointers towards things we can think about and research to elaborate on it if we feel like it. But if not, we aren't in the dark or anything (the videos seem to be acknowledging the key points).

The story seems like it is satisfying both lurkers and dedicated fans of the ARG elements so far with this approach.
