Online petitions don't really amount to much, but I'm pretty sure they'll lose my interest if they start screwing around with established characters.

Did you actually read his post on myspace? Did you get a spam email? Did you see the new ads up today on the main page?

Yes, yes, and yes...?

And you DON'T find the confluence of all that at once with Yousef being fired to be... oh... SUSPICIOUS?

A little bit, but obviously not to the point that you guys do. All I'm saying is that I feel like by saying "Yousef was fired because The Creators made the decision to be more marketable" is jumping the gun.

But it's a free country, so y'all are entitled to your opinions, just like me. I think that I'm gonna stop posting in this thread though, just because I'm afraid of getting involved in a debate that I'm not really brainy enough to hold my own in.

Kasdeja wrote:Again...enough with the damn T shirt contest, you don't like the terms, don't enter! I've seen so many of these types of contests, with lesser prizes, on forums...and if someone doesn't like it, don't enter. There are plenty of people that seem to enjoy this contest and don't mind the terms, let these people have their fun.
My complaint is less at the contest in and of itself, but more the hypocrisy of the creators saying they want to reward people’s efforts, but then only doing when it won’t cost them anything, as long as revver is footing the bill and it doesn’t affect their profit margin.

Also, yes, lots of other forums do this as well, but for a company to try to do it is very unprofessional. I could see it being a little less insulting if they already had a store and were selling a number of items that had be professionally designed and they wanted to make a fan submitted design available as well, but it sounds as if they will only be offering these fan made shirts. This is just one of the more recent of many times that the people involved with LG have shown there almost utter distain towards their fanbase.

The two people known to have left the project both did so with bad feelings, I can only assume that they must treat their staff like they do their fans.

I first started following the project as I felt the people involved were interested in creating art, it is now more obvious than ever that their real goal is just to make money.

Hey, it's not like I'm in here to defend the creatatrons, I just think we should hold the most heated comments down until we actually KNOW what is going on. A lot of these comments are based on conjecture and I prefer to have more facts before forming my complete decision, etc. Like, we DON'T know what happened with Yousef. I could be what people think they know, or it could be different. I'm not going to condemn the creatatrons for it until I actually know what I'm talking about. The contest thing, I see your points completely...but some people who have entered DON'T see it as a rip off. I'm not going to enter so I guess I just don't have as much personal investment in it.

Kasdeja, that's admirable. The Creators currently have enough time and brain power to spin this so I doubt we will ever know what really happened. I think Yousef's blog is the closest to the truth....and I doubt I'd believe ANYTHING official that the Creator's have to say about it. The whole thing has been studded with lies since conception. If you read Daniel's blog it says what happened in black and white.

Okay, being around the graphics business most of my life, I can tell you that the t shirt contest is taking advantage of fans. The fact that this is run by a company, not a non-profit organization, makes the creators look like cheap bastards who are too lazy to hire someone who actually knows how to design t shirts. It's not even that expensive to that. Trust me on that. But as for the Yousef situation, it would be sad to see him go, if its even true.

So he stated exactly why he got fired? That's never been said. Iknow a lot of people also put a spin on why they got fired...so I still prefer to hear both sides and all. Either way, there's really nothing we can do about it.

Huh...well, I'll tell the other forums that aren't not for profit that they are grubbing bastards ripping off ther fans...except if I do the fans there would get mad. Ripped off is almost a relative term, here...for if someone doesnt' thing they are getting ripped off, are they really?

It sucks to think that now I'm not a good enough actor to be on a show I was cast for, but hey, it is what it is
Why are you arguing with everyone Kasdeja? The Creators aren't going to pay you to defend them.[/quote]

That is fair, a lot is conjecture at this point and maybe we are jumping to the wrong conclusions, but some of the people involved with the project do have a history of treating people poorly so it may not be that much of a jump. I also think the fact that no one still involved with the project is willing to comment on the subject speaks volumes.

My final comment on the t-shirt thing is, people should have fun with it, I don’t want it to be stopped or anything, I just thought the hypocrisy of it all warranted being commented on.

<crazy rant>White America wins again. Despite the terrorists winning the House, America will at least be safe from Arabs in their internet shows. Yousef is the new Human Stain – the not quite white enough Arab.</crazy rant>

Yes and no. It really depends on if the LG15 series stays popular till the end. If it is, they could make some nice cash off of the t shirts, which in that case they should give royalties to the winner. If not, no biggie. I just don't want the winners prize to be just a t shirt. That would just stink.

What the hell are you talking about? I have stated my angst as well and if you would actually READ my posts you would see I'm not defending the creatatrons...unless not blindly following you until I know what all is going on is defending someone...which I sure wasn't aware that it was. Also, I don't see my statement inwhich you quoted as being in an argumentative tone...
