I'm another girl with stars!
I have 6 stars. There is one for each person in my immediate family (dad, mom, three brothers, and me) I got it about two months ago, at the beginning of school.

Problem is, I detest needles!

I'm not a big needle lover either. That's why mine are on my back. If I can't SEE the needle, I'm okay.

If I can't see the needle I freak out.
I was afraid of needles til I got my first one done, and surprisingly didn't cry at all... I was just fascinated at watching the tattoo in progress (it was on my ankle so I had a good view)

It does hurt somewhat. A lot depends on where you have it done and your tolerance for pain. Also depends on how much is lines and how much is coloring/shading. The outlines and thin lines generally hurt more than the shading/coloring. And yes, you do have to put some cream on it. Only for a few days, though, and I'm sure you must have someone who's willing to help with that :O)

Before you commit to a larger tattoo, you might want to consider something small, just to get a feel for how you take that particular kind of pain.

And before you get any tattoo, make sure you find a nice, clean place where they use NEW needles EVERY time. Not cleaned needles, NEW needles. There are a variety of things you can catch from dirty or not well cleaned needles.

And be sure to look at samples of the tattoo artist's work. Get somebody with experience and real talent. It's going to be on your skin for life. Don't skimp on the talent and quality, even if you have to pay a bit more.

i guess..i can get good o'l mum to put cream on my bak..i was thinkin bold outlines n the inside is fading grey..n the guy I'm gettin it from has 20+ years of xperience which can be a good or bad thing..good cos hes experienced bad cos he's old n might cough or hav rlly shakey hands on me i'm gettin mine on my 18th bday cant wait..n i like to hink i hav high tolerance of pain not saying I'm emo or anything but 1 time i got my frends to burn the southern cross on my rib area with a cigarette n it hurt..but in a feel good not ouch hurt O_o

o n i forgot i made a smiley on my hand i made it by heating the top metal part of the lighter n den putting it on the skin for like 3 seconds haha

I'm thinking you'll handle a tat just fine. Every artist is different. The first 3 I used, it didn't really hurt all that bad. The last guy I used was a little heavy handed. I'm sure that, when I die and donate my body to science, they'll find that his tat went all the way through my back to the inside of my stomach
