Unless Daniel graduated the Summer before the story started, he's breaking the law by not going to school. I dont recall a video about him dropping out.

His parents not caring about him is concering. But I always thought he was Bree's age, so why havne't they mentioned his schooling?

Daniel graduated before the series began. Even if he hadn't, though, at 19, it's no longer a legal issue if you've dropped out.

He used to talk about calling them sometimes. He probably continues to do that, and it just isn't deemed important or interesting enough to continue mentioning in the videos. Why assume that he has dropped all connection with them?

Yeah never forget Dan is a drunk , he probably got that from his parents and could easily be part of the Order himself.

I don't think it's that hard to imagine his parents not keeping track of him. If they're both often absent and uninterested, then it seems believable enough to me that they think he's gone off to community college and living with friends or something. Sure, it's not normal, but neither is a cult who sing an eternal song and comb the nation to find a 15 year old girl to do a ceremony.

Even if it's asking too much of my suspension of disbelief, it hasn't taken away from my enjoyment of the series, so no big deal.

Well, I just don't understand why the order doesn't use his parents as an ultimatum.

Remember how they wouldn't force Bree to do the ceremony, just keep following her, watching her, and trying to convince her to do it herself? Remember that Bree's mom was a firm believer in free will? Remember when the OpAPHID guy who kidnapped them got shot? The Order/HoO is not into using that kind of leverage. Since they're long established as this huge and powerful organization, don't you think they could have brought some elite SWAT team up to Jonas's house or down to Mexico to retrieve Bree and dispose of the other two guys? It would be more effective, but for whatever reason force just is not their M.O.

Dammit! I have to agree with you again on that one!

I don't think they want to "dispose" of Daniel or Jonas, just... distract them, maybe. Get them to leave Bree (who WANTS to do the ceremony) alone...

Umm..no. Mr. Beast used to be a drunk, but no longer is. You must have missed the videos from when they were in the Bunker.

Exactly my point. They could easier have killed them, but that appears to be counter to the tenets of the Hymn of One. My point is that it'd be easier to do things the OpAPHID way - by force - but they're fundamentally against it as the Hymn of One and must convince her that she wants to do the ceremony.

So are Bree and Sarah going to become more than freinds? Bree seemed to like goldfish.
